It's such a tension release when you get rid of the sunk cost cards for something you currently want. Great lesson that I'm glad I learned 'relatively' early

Went to a card show last weekend after being out of the hobby for about 20 years. It was overwhelming to say the least. I had no idea what I was looking at and when I was collecting it was way more about fun than money. Now it seems like the complete opposite. Now everything is graded and I even saw little kids everywhere carrying suitcases full of cards. The hobby has definitely changed.
I think it's safe to say a lot of us are very very clean after all the baths we've taken 😂
I hate to see the Wade XRC and the Zion blue go because I remember the vids where you got those (Wade was at Courtside from that 15 year old kid!)... But you can't go wrong with a Kobe grail! Congrats!

Pretty sure that Lebron UD All Time Greats isn’t a dual auto. There were a few guys and variations of those Personal Touch cards where guys on the checklist just wrote in their response to “favorite artist” or “favorite track” (for Richard Petty) or “favorite food” or “favorite car”, “favorite moment” so if you payed up thinking it also has a Jay-Z auto… Add it to the took a bath list

Bridgeport is the neighborhood where the White Sox play. You probably could have made a deal on a nice Luis Robert card. His stock is down because of injuries but he's only 25 willl rake with Gold glove defense.

That Topps Chrome KD RC Refractor was going for like 36k at one point.........damn it hurts my heart to see prices dropped so low. Also, I watched the video where you traded for that Harden refractor rookie, and damn I still cant believe you traded a POP 1 MJ Auto card for that. 😢😢😢😢

Yeah I can’t believe it either! Lol. I thought things would playing out much differently in Brooklyn as I thought Harden would get a couple of rings. Obviously never happened and in retrospect was never worth the risk anyway having to give up a Jordan card.

Also there is zero chance this guy had a 26k offer in cash because that is way better than the trade plus cash deal he just did by at least 2-3k. He got 20k in cards and those are probably liquid at 17-18k bringing total to 25k, plus a big risk with the Zion as well. Just hate when people use the BS "I had/have an offer at this amount", go take it, if not that has nothing to do with me.

I pulled that card in July 1997 when I was a kid. It was worth like $500 for 20 years. I sold it for $500 in 2011. 😢 it was a PSA 9 OC. Not PSA 10.
I bought a Kobe topps psa 10 for $35 maybe a year before the pandemic happened. It’s hard for me to comprehend the “hobby” now and the crazy prices people pay. You might as well just flip classic cars for those prices. At least you can drive the car and pick up chicks if you can’t sell it right away.
