    Fill a spray bottle with dawn dish soap and water mix. Heavy on the soap. Spray wasps etc. While in mid air or in nest. Non toxic for animals but great to put down those pests.

      Put it around the interior and exterior of buildings, works so well.

      I was going to recommend that you only need about a tablespoon to half a bottle of good hand held spray gun plastic anyway if it green dawn the water will be green or blue or whatever color you use works great on carpenter wasp to mid air or up in there wholes spray up down the fall out of the hole. Great for German and tree roaches to.

    • @evilrockinator
      @evilrockinator 3 года назад

      Yes as long as there's enough soap to smoother the pest it's enough.

      I've found using OdoBan disinfectant , it'll knock them down with a small amount of spray and usually kill them if coated real good but, usually when down I just step on them. Also works on flys, whatever in the formula stop their ability to fly.

    For trailers, I’ve always welded tabs onto the frame at the back corners & mounted small hard wheels or rollers of some kind. That way WHEN not if it’s dragged it’s not damaging the the back of the trailer.

    • @AmbitionStrikes
      @AmbitionStrikes  3 года назад +3

      That is a GREAT idea!

      Rollers work good on flat ground but off road, you can hit mounds in the trails. Better off with flat stock or scuff liner that can span from the axles to the back and can slide over stuff.

  • @68spc
    @68spc 3 года назад +1

    I suggest you bolt flat steel or scuff liner under the rear of your trailer so if it does hit the ground, it can slide on something longitudinally instead of having a hard edge that will catch and tear apart the back of the trailer.

    Too late now, but when traveling with that style shelving in a trailer get a couple sheets of plywood to face the shelves and keep everything on the shelf. Plus it give you plywood to use as a work table when at your destination with a couple saw horses.

    1) I just realized Courtney is in her "right mind" all the time. No wonder she is so creative!
    2) My brain is screaming "Balance the load!" I totaled a truck & travel trailer in 2005.
    3) Be true to your backs, now. It is really hard to get spare parts. At 72 y/o, I now have a titanium Coflex(tm) spacer at L3/L4.
    4) Air bag lift kit next invention.
    5) Security: as the asset values increase and as public as your travels are, you may benefit from developing a plan for "hardening your target."
    So happy for you. It is so much fun watching your enthusiasm and optimism. Thank you for bringing us all along. Blessings.

    It`s all coming together nicely. "Stuff" is always a category. lol Most people do not like the sanding part of doing drywall, like me. Heavy things are a 2 person or machine lifting project. You can help your back by getting to work on the abs. A strong core can do most of the work preventing hurting your back so often. I`m 62 and i have to keep working on my abs. Last and the most fun is if you get tennis rackets, they make great pest killers if they are big enough. I used to use them to take down bats that would get in sometimes. They should work on those large wasps. lol Good thing you didn`t need that spare on the side of the road! Take care

    I'm amazed everything was still on the shelves! We also have problems with flies and yellowjackets. The tennis rackets work. But the most fun is the Bug A Salt gun we bought on Amazon. It fires plain old Morton table salt and it's very accurate. Highly recommended.

    Find the yellow jacket nests and cover the entrance and exit holes with buckets or glass bowls. This will trap them inside and they will all starve. You can also asphyxiate them by filling the entrance and exit with dry ice and cover the holes!

    A possible solution to your problem with wasps or hornets, is to make a mixture of beer and sugar in a plastic bottle whose upper part is cut towards the lower part with the funnel cap removed.When you have done that, make a mixture of beer and sugar and pour into that bottle up to a quarter. Hang on a branch with a thinner rope.When you are, the party can begin. As wasps and hornets love sweets, they will enter the bottle, but they will not be able to go out, simply put, they will drown.The recipe that has been used in Serbia for decades and is very successful. Of course, we usually put more of these bottles. I wish you success with all the projects. Greetings from Serbia

    Buy a reasonably priced hand truck from Harbor Freight, weld a small piece of flat stock off of the axle or frame just above the axle so it sticks back from the frame the same distance as the handle of the hand truck, then when you lay the hand truck down it will be off the wheels and won't roll, and will be level. Then simply mount your tile saw to the hand truck. Viola! Easily moved but stable and level tile saw.

  • @williamfranklin6283

    Weld solid wheel swivel casters to the frame on the back corners of the trailer. Keeps the rear sheet metal from getting ripped off.
    1/4" plate all the way across works too if you are in alot of gravel or dirt. Just make sure forward edge is beveled.

    I use to work on a fleet of construction equipment and lawn tractors and keep thinking about the amount of dust and dry dirt blowing around. The radiator use to plug up with dirt all the time and needed to be cleaned or they over heated. Also most rear engine equipment fans blow out from the engine compartment to the back and the fans run opposite way then a car, meaning you have to blow them out from inside the engine bay. We use to use a air compressor because water turned into mud and caked up the fins and stuck there, people will say that air pressure hurts the fins but we did it for years by the drivers who could care less about fixing radiators had had no problems.

    and pull the excavator as far as possible against the mountain and only then put it on blocks and remove the wheels.
    a trailer without wheels underneath is more difficult to steal and also not to couple with the tongue the other way .
    plus you can easily walk in to grab something through the tailgate .

    Yellow jackets love to build nests in wood piles and in stumps (in the ground). If you find the nest, wait until dark and hose it with a good quality wasp killer (they can't see to fly in the dark and as soon as you turn off your flashlight, drop to the ground and land). Also after dark they are all in the nest.

    Get a large aerosol wasp and hornet spray and use on all overhangs - crevices - and check all around your build - even in boxes - buckets - under ladder steps etc . . for the wasp and hornet nests. Even a light misting on areas you think they will make one will keep them from doing so. Or if you don't want to go that route with aerosol poison - even using plain old vinegar and water solution works. Even strong smelling soap and water can work. Also a solution of any of the following will drive them away - ( since they are very sensitive to smells ) : peppermint, lemongrass, clove, and geranium essential oils, vinegar, sliced cucumber, bay leaves, scented herbs, and geranium flowers. I fight the nests each year and have been "ambushed" by them quite a bit. It's not pleasant. I also have an electric tennis racquet device ( which works wonders ) - in one hand ( the favored hand ) - and a strong long throw aerosol in the other when I do this stuff. That's my method and it works. Some of them do come at me - and I give them the "death penalty". ( blunt force trauma and electrocution ) And have shoes on - because I bat them down to the ground and then step on them. ( As you can tell I DO NOT like Hornet and wasps )

    Still, 4 years later, we totally love when we come home to our tiny, dusty off grid home in the woods.
