    For next winter, you should set up Snow poles(Snow Plow Markers, Driveway Markers or Stakes) with reflex along your road. So you see how wide the road is so you can clear the snow without risking the machine falling down the slope.

      I was watching some current abnormal snow videos in California where people getting stuck under snow, inside their home can't get in/out. But also showed cars driving on the road that you can't hardly see. I was so nervous, OMG the driver will fall on the cliff. You cant see if you are on the lane or driving towards the edge of the road. Some tried to leave the home to buy snow blower, then they were not allowed to return home either by the authorities or the snow blocked them.

    Remember to clear the chute and feeder screws of the blower to prevent them from being frozen when you want to use the blower next time. Also to keep the snow from sticking spray the chute with cooking spray before and after use. The cheap stuff works

    • @Jeff-jg7jh
      @Jeff-jg7jh Год назад +2

      @@stephendoing2253 Is there anything that WD-40 can't do? Yeah, a ton of things. It can solidify and gum things up. Little things for sure. Like brackets and hinges. Buckets can overcome that. But there's grease for that. Here's a story; I bought a Marlin rifle for the low, low price of $150. It was all gummed up with WD-40.
      I cleaned it up(I can do this) and it turned out to be a beautiful and accurate rifle. Way more accurate than the Winchester. It had killer wood too. I'd show you a picture, but we can't do that. That's OK, you get the idea. Pam isn't even in the discussion here.

    OMG, I was going to say something last video about something like this for you guys! It really is what you need with the amounts of snow you get in a snowstorm to keep your plow banks lower and not have to fire up more pieces of equipment to knock them down every other storm. This machine comes with the option of other attachments to help you out on the mountain 👽

    Other fun attachments for the skid steer: Concrete mixing bucket, log attachment, brush cutter, auger, rock breaker, log splitter, various grapples, vibrating roller, sifter, and the list goes on. I've owned a skid steer for a few years, and that thing is one of the most handy machines I own. Now it's time to build a car port for your equipment. Also, they make special cleats that you screw into the treads for your skid steer, they work very well and can be removed for the other season. Well worth the money, and it should solve your sliding issue (nvm, saw the last 30 seconds of the video, lol).

    Now you need to get a tarp for each of your pieces of equipment, for winter. It will save a lot of time by making it easier to remove the snow before use. Look for some of the used vinyl signs - they're cheap, big, and last many years (since you only need them in winter they will not be destroyed by the intense summer sunshine.

    Pro tip. Clean your undercarriage, and clean your quick attach on your track loader routinely to keep a longer life and to keep your quick attach working. The pins get built up with grease and mud and stop working if you dont. Also, not that you have a lot of dust over that way, but keep your cab air filters blown out pretty frequently to keep your blower motor from failing. Nice piece of equipment you got, congratulations

    12:11 You need a wider bucket. That bucket is a little bit narrower than the machine, and so your tracks end up driving on the material you are trying to scoop. Get a bucket that is a few inches wider than your tracks so when you scoop something like gravel and it falls back in behind the bucket you don’t drive over it and throw of your scoop. This is especially important when you are trying to level out gravel/dirt. Trust me it will be well worth it.

    In that climate I would recommend installing remote starts on all the vehicles if possible. The truck w plow and the Snoverlander for sure. I know you both are from Cali. But in snowy/cold climates where temps drop below freezing regularly a proper engine warmup is really important… and it’s not just about warming the vehicle interior. Although w proper interior temps and warm air blowing through the heat system you defrost is going so you can actually see through the windshield when you start driving. 10 mins is the min engine warm up time I personally use.

    That is definitely a great addition to the homestead, especially with the snow blower attachment. I'm sure you will find many uses for it year round. They are so versatile. The powerered attachment lock is a real nice feature. Merry Christmas!

    Nice. You may find it helpful to wax the snow removal surfaces so that the snow doesn't stick. Good Luck, Rick

    Make sure you purchase some extra shear pins that drive the auger and blower. shear pins will always fail when you least need them to, especially if you are encountering ice or thick crusty snow. Ice is like a rock, it will dent and bend things you would not expect, not to mention it gets thrown out of the chute and will break windows, dent buildings, cars.... David Weidner is correct, spray the chute, auger and blower box to prevent sticking of snow before you use it. Also be sure to clear the blower at the end of work. Frozen snow on the auger can cause the shear pins to fail on start up.
