      +Samantha Gonzalez Yes, Soulful! Their music is filled with so much emotion, which is why they're one of my favorite bands today. I love music that expresses deep soul and emotion, and I get that through her voice. When you can literally, physically feel the emotion oozing out of a piece, that's when you know stumbled upon well composed art. I just find their music so rich in soul, completely different than most of today's popular music.

      in black music,its called "breaking it down". a loud accent then the bottom falls out. it's used to feature a lead preparing to show-off or an instrument solo. it's common in like music like ballads 'cause its a psychological thaaang. mostly done live. the compression done making cd's mp3 and such its not as effective

    This woman is a seismic event. Her voice and musicianship make the tectonic plates collide. There's a closet fragility in the command and challenge in her vocals that make us submit to her world view. This is an authentic woman whose gifts & collaborations will combine to heal us all.

      Yeah 100% her live guitar parts blow my mind. A lot of guitarists can sing, and a lot of guitarists can play those parts. But on this one and especially Future People she shows how she can do both at once. Getting that level of emotion out of your instrument and your vocals at the same time is unbelievably difficult and she makes it look easy.

    • @SS-gx7tg
      @SS-gx7tg 3 года назад +15

      Interesting story about that guitar: the sound tech from David Letterman let her use it when they performed on his show. She loved it and wanted to buy it but he couldn't let it go as it belonged to someone else. She begged and pleaded. HE told her "if you ever end up playing on SNL *or* the Grammy's, I'll sell it to you" and then like 3 months later they were offered to play BOTH the grammies and SNL - and because of that, he didnt sell it to her, he just outright gave her the guitar. It's been with her ever since and is the main guitar she plays live. She says its her fav guitar ever and speaks to her more than any other.

    Wow! Isn't it illegal or something to craft music this beautiful. I have never heard of stuff like this. i have my favorite artists but this band is on another level that I cannot wait to fully listen too. The guitar syncs are just awesome and are absolutely unique. I am so used to the pop music we hear all the time that their performances blow me away every time. I can't help but think "are they allowed to do that?" It must be illegal since so many other bands suck and follow a very typical pattern to stay in the popular safe zone.
    just amazing, can't wait to learn these sick chords on guitar.
