Yes! Exactly! Tingles in the tiniest places. I listen to this when I feel.like there are feelings I can't get out of my flesh. This song shakes them loose!
This song touches my fucking soul, I only discovered it an hour ago and I have played it on repeat the whole time. Honestly I have never heard anything like it
Thanks for the correction. I was in the hospital and I think the meds may have PLAYED a large role in the poor grammar. Glad we are on the same "paige". ;)
The way she shouts with all her heart and soul and then whispers to her partner, empathisizes all the heart-wrenching and deep, everlasting voice of love we all want to echo back to us from those we want to listen. A great, powerful and beautiful song that still makes me cry and reminds me that love is everywhere and eternal.
I heard this in a dream, I was dreaming I was in a bar at night after a breakup with I don't know who. When I woke up, I googled as much of the lyrics as I could as I heard in my dream and it turned out this song actually existed. This is now my fav song.
+Cat Ross Don't take offense to me trying to debunk this, but did you happen to fall asleep with the TV or radio on?... Me and my brother do that, and I thought I was the only one who would subconsciously hear what was on TV, and dream something that involved it, until he told me he'd done that too. So I think it's a common thing. It's hard to believe your mind actually made up a song that already existed, unless there's something supernatural going on with you. Lol.
I'm learning this song on bass, and the mixture of minimal, muted parts and aggressively rock & roll soul parts are their own lil rollercoaster inside of the emotional rollercoaster of the whole song. Brittany is a mastermind and her crew are masters of expressionism in their own rights. This is the shortest symphonic suite ever, but that's what it does, leads the listener to so many places in a tiny bit of time
2 years ago I was in Bend, Oregon. My mother had just passed away. A friend of my cousin exposed me to your skills. Thank you for helping me through the most difficult time I’ve ever gone through
This is DOPE. It's an amazing blend of sounds & emotions. I can hear some Zepplin, Prince, Billie Holliday... Alabama Shakes. Somehow, I've never heard of you guys before but I'm an instant fan. This song is gonna be on repeat for a while, then I'll check out the catalog. Thanks for making such a good song
I hear the Stones and Al Green too and will add Black Keyes, D'Angelo and a couple more I can't put my finger on yet. The first time i heard this song (which was today), I swear I heard 10 influences and was thoroughly blown away. I thought very highly of the AS...I think they are the best throwback to the 60's/70's in the last 15+ years.
Alex Childress i definitely hear that d'angelo and prince influence with her own unique twist! so glad i caught their performance on snl, got a big fan outta me! hope i can catch her in toronto later this year
From 2:10 it’s just an inexpressible rush. Pure talent. The bass guitar, lead guitar, drums, Brittany going off, the combination is musical poetry. Just beautiful. Thank you, Shakes.
Ever since catching them on a late nite episode of Austin City Limits a year or so ago, I have been IN love. Alabama Shakes, Bless your beautiful souls!
I'm seeing a lot of people below becoming new fans because of their SNL performance last night. Same thing happened to me last year when they performed on SNL. Became an instant fan and they've been my favorite band ever since and still are. They fucking rocked it again on SNL. Enjoy new fans. This band is GREATNESS.
I can't remember what got me to them, i just know its my favorite, the soul always makes me feel good, and the song on your way hypes me up soo much it caused me to get a speeding ticket, my first one too. No cars were around, i just got lost into the song, well except for that cop.
Though Prince died and I'm still sad about it, still crying, he said he believes the future is in good hands. Then I go to Alabama Shakes station on Pandora and my ears are blessed with this gem and I believe him. 💜
The whole song from beginning to end is incredible, from 2:10 on it makes it one of my fave songs of all time! Her vocals are amazing! Alabama Shakes come back!
I have not stopped playing Boys & Girls (debut album) since I heard it more than 3 years ago (I first heard "Hold On" 4 years ago). Hands down my favourite album (band?) in the last 10-15 years, of any genre. What does it for me? Hard to pinpoint....they blend soul, jazz, rock, blues & motown so perfectly, it kills me...every song is a treasure. Brit has such an incredible, timeless voice. The absolute softest when it needs to be, yet sultry, sexy, aggressive & full of passion when the song dictates - and oh boy, do some of the songs dictate. The band is tight, fluid, and the overall tone of their recordings is so retro but yet so perfectly suited for their style (see above), which is a big part of what I love about these guys. If you're on the beach/at a cottage/in the country, do yourself a favour and play anything by Alabama Shakes. The memories will be better.
I know this is all anybody ever says in the comments section of music videos but I really do wish there were more people doing this kind of thing. not just like Alabama shakes but just what they do, making music that means something along with killer sounds and melodies to go with it. I just like music that makes me feel. I mean not that the music we have now is all that bad I just would like it more evan. lots of love for ya shakes.
"Gimme All Your Love" So much is going on But you can always come around Why don't you sit with me for just a little while? Tell me, what's wrong? If you just gimme all your love ohh Gimme all you got, babe Gimme all your love ohh Bit more So tell me what you wanna do You say the world, it doesn't fit with you Why don't you talk to me for just a little while? I can only try to make it right If you just gimme all your love ohh Gimme all you got, babe Gimme all your love ohh Give me all your love Give me all you got, babe Give me all your love
Here after a few years when I would listen and search for so much music. I miss that sort of energy. Time to take Alabama Shakes on my walks again. Just an amazing voice!
Alabama Shakes and Charles Bradley, these two do something for me that almost nothing else can. It's like an antidepressant mixed with a jolt of hope, courage and optimism... a feeling that everything will be ok. I find this stuff so comforting. It hits right at my heart, music with this kind of soulfulness to it can't be faked no matter how many execs the label gathers in the board room or how much money is thrown at whatever producer is in demand that month. Brittney and Charles (Bradley) both have voices that are so genuine, full of passion and emotion and completely visceral. Such iconic voices (Charles Bradley's voice coming in on the opening of "Changes" wakes my tear ducts up every single time and totally changes my day for the better). They are both national treasures and their albums should 100% be inducted into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry as they are examples not only of artistic excellence in their field but also the excellent lyricism & storytelling detailing their uniquely American struggles (and joys). In my opinion, since the turn of the century no other music has exemplified *the* most purely raw American sound & ethos as these two. Ok I'm done rambling! Apologies for the length.. I'm a big fan! :)
On occasion you find an artist or band that is just what you wanted in the perfect place and time. You didn’t even know to ask for it, but there it is! And life is good.
It was surprising to me that a band whose sound was already so identifiable could be even stronger and more pronounced a second time round, the snl performance blew me away, this song is absolutely illuminating with soul and integrity it outshines anything ive heard in the past 2 years seriously........
You guys definitely need to listen to their first album in its entirety. Their new album drops April 21st; prepare yourselves now! If their second album is as good as their first, you'll never stop playing it.
Just when you're about to give up trying to find a new music that's worth the listen, you stumble on this (while you're baked)... Blew my mind! Their whole album is amazing
I'm intoxicated by their music. I've been shaken by all their songs brought to tears. To find an artist whose ever song brings out all your emotions to the surface is so rare. To see some one completely open to u is beautiful
This is going to be one of my favorite songs of this year, guaranteed. I love that the production is so heavy and grainy and in your face, it's how I like my rock music to be. And these guys (and girl) know how to progress a song from being pretty good to being incredible with the second half of this track. Fantastic performances across the board, Brittany Howard's voice had me hooked in instantly. This band brings back that 60s-70s rock sound with a fresh twist, absolutely love it.
I feel extremely blessed to have caught these kids play at the legendary Carnegie Hall last week. I must say they stunned us all with this song. I have seen over 6,000 artists perform live in my 50 years and that one song shot up to near the top of my all time "I will always remember that one" moments.
Talyen79 OH god, easily 6,000. Hell, I stopped even trying to count years ago. Look at it this way, as it seems you doubt me: I attend on average three shows per week. (Probably five most weeks, but for your sake, three is fine) Most of these shows average three artists or more, but call it three. I started this pattern in 1984. Number crunch time: oh shit!!! That makes over 15,000 acts. Now, for sure there are some I have seen multiple times. I saw REM over 20 times in the 80's. I have seen Tool a dozen times. I have seen Bob Dylan a dozen times. I have seen a handful of local or underground bands a dozen times each. Oh shit, I forgot I saw Sonic Youth like 30 times back in the 80's. So, that type of activity, seeing multiple bands multiple times would reduce the number down from 15,000 acts total. So I will call it 10,000 acts that I have seen, stick with that for another decade or so...stop counting. But thanks, you woke me up to the actual number more closely. (I saw more than one dozen different acts that night alone, at Carnegie) Peace😎
I heard you on Conan, usually I skip to the next program I want to watch, but I couldn't touch my remote. This is what music must do with you. Respect and greetings from Surinam.
This band had me with ' Hold On'. She sings with a ferocious feeling, owning the song completely, and she has the ability to transfer that to the audience. Great artist imho. Hope to hear more.
I have been looking for a sound that could equate the generations of classic music that I have been hearing for years. This is IT! I can not deny the immediate effect of Love for this band. This is so intense I think Im glitching out from all that crap on the Radio...Alabama Shakes is the only way to survive from the public radio pop scene. Listen to this band and Be the Cure...
Kate, Yes I agree with you totally about The Shakes, I have been a big fan since their first album. As for looking for a sound that could equate the generations of classic music, if you like I can make a few recommendations of newer artist with that kind of sound.
Vinylsearch2015 60 I heard this on XPN here in philly. They play good music, not popular music. Not saying this song isn't popular, but they aren't playing Iggy Azella and other billboard stuff. Glad to see music fans in here that realize popular doesn't necessarily mean good. I can't wait to listen to their albums.
Kate G Give me a day or two and I will provide you some cool links of younger artist who are working under the public radar. I think it is great that Alabama Shakes have rose above that radar.
:) vero, senza i LPOM non li avrei mai conosciuti. Questa canzone è meravigliosa, ha tutto, energia e dolcezza, passaggi sorprendenti, ti tocca il cuore. E la versione degli LPOM è fantastica
So much is going on But you can always come around Why don't you sit with me for just a little while? Tell me, what's wrong? If you just gimme all your love ohh Gimme all you got, babe Gimme all your love ohh Bit more So tell me what you wanna do You say the world, it doesn't fit with you Why don't you talk to me for just a little while? I can only try to make it right If you just gimme all your love ohh Gimme all you got, babe Gimme all your love ohh Give me all your love Give me all you got, babe Give me all your love
I've LOVED this band since I first heard "Hold On" in '13. But this song is just off the goddamn hook, it's so good. The rhythm section, the dynamics and guitar work, the craftsmanship, so solid. But Howard's pipes just knock me on my ass. God. Damn.
The beginning of most of their songs have this cool "floating through space" feel to them. I love the simplicity of their music, and it's done so well.
Alabama Shakes have my vote for the most underrated band of all time. Songs like this are damn near perfect and I can’t wait for their eventual 3rd album.
Mit Worten nicht zu beschreiben, wie angenehm die Klänge auf meine Seele sinken und alten Wunden heilen. Would you please visit Europe??? Vienna calling.
I love comment sections. I love how we all share the same love and appreciation for this music. The appreciation it deserves. I've made the mistake of sharing it with the wrong people. And it convinced me that I didn't have good taste. But I hear this song, and to me, it is magical; and then I read the comments- and it makes me smile. These are the right people. YOU ARE the right people. ♡
The impeccable music and production values elevate your divine voice, like the whole Universe is conspiring to lift up and showcase your magic. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
I have selfishly loved this song, this band, this album FOREVER. For the FIRST TIME EVERRRR, I shared this song with a gentleman who.... is simply amazing. When one hears Britney for the first time..., it’s simply paralyzing with ear-gasms ♥️
I love how it shifts from intensity to relaxing.
The power of good music mate
+Michelle E. u right
It's called dynamics
Trace George ok
Trace George Thanks Dale from Step Brothers
This isn't just an eargasm, this is like all the atoms of my body waking up.
Yes! Exactly! Tingles in the tiniest places. I listen to this when I feel.like there are feelings I can't get out of my flesh. This song shakes them loose!
This song touches my fucking soul, I only discovered it an hour ago and I have played it on repeat the whole time. Honestly I have never heard anything like it
@@thewhistlingpixie Exactly the same for me.
As a matter of fact I put it in the morning just to dance and wake my body! Lol⚡️
@@thewhistlingpixie “tingles in the tiniest places”
*looks below my waist*
I feel foolish... Sometimes, you discover music, sometimes it discovers you.
+Paul Piwowar that sounded pretty gay, Paul
👍👌
should no have laughed at that but i did
cringe
True
this is the most underrated, unplaid, unlistened to album that ever was. this is music at its finest. Britnay has my heart. this music fills my soul.
Thanks for the correction. I was in the hospital and I think the meds may have PLAYED a large role in the poor grammar. Glad we are on the same "paige". ;)
+Metaphor The Great hardly unnoticed its nominated for a grammy
And won!
underplayed? it has 2 million views.
Melissa Prentice, ABSOLUTELY
couldve been one of the greatest bands of all time
I agree they were different.
She sings equally amazing live. No editing on her voice required. Beautiful, strong voice that hits all the notes.
I heard this in a dream, I was dreaming I was in a bar at night after a breakup with I don't know who.
When I woke up, I googled as much of the lyrics as I could as I heard in my dream and it turned out this song actually existed.
This is now my fav song.
Cool story bro.
+Cat Ross Don't take offense to me trying to debunk this, but did you happen to fall asleep with the TV or radio on?... Me and my brother do that, and I thought I was the only one who would subconsciously hear what was on TV, and dream something that involved it, until he told me he'd done that too. I don't own a tv. :D
Or a radio. :D
Its possible that you could have heard the song in a store while you were shopping.
+Ethasham Ahmed You're right. If we can focus on how to retrieve information from our subconscious on demand, we'd be amazing
The whole song is amazing but 2:27 to 3:07 is otherworldly. Definitely one of my favorite songs from this album
Britney has one of the best voices God ever created.
I hope you don't mean Spears... :)
+Marceli Korbin (Mr. Deer) Ha!
+Marceli Korbin (Mr. Deer) lol
+Nona Taylor i thought it was a guy until i saw the album cover
+Sebastiano Rorschach Wow! You just made me search for her name! It's a woman! Who would've thought...
I can't believe it's taken me this long to discover the magic of Alabama Shakes and Brittany's voice!!! Pure GOLD!!
Ditto
I'm learning this song on bass, and the mixture of minimal, muted parts and aggressively rock & roll soul parts are their own lil rollercoaster inside of the emotional rollercoaster of the whole song. IMO their best tune, heard it on SNL, glad to see an official version.
2 years ago I was in Bend, Oregon. My mother had just passed away. A friend of my cousin exposed me to your skills.
Thank you for helping me through the most difficult time I’ve ever gone through
Sings like Al Green but has a band that plays like Black Keys. Weird combination but I love it.
This is spot on
al green? I think not
+Raymond Cortez More Janis than Al. Brittany is the new Queen of Soul
+Regina McKinney Janis Joplin is soul?
well put :)
my grandpa introduced me to alabama shakes years ago, and man that was one gift i’ll continue to love.
Did anyone get the chills while listening to this? Or just me lol
Jessie stuart watch the SNL live version... prepare to be reborn
Justin Phillips I tend to get the shakes yes
YES!!!! give me goosebumps everytime
every time i listen to it. never fails. I've missed jam bands. Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin, just playing to play. it's a glorious thing.
what gives me chills is your name - Jessie Stuart - my favorite author!
I know the feeling, I had the same thing when I first heard Hold On, I heard all these different influences and was hooked instantly.
Also hearing some influences from The Rolling Stones
I hear the Stones and Al Green too and will add Black Keyes, D'Angelo and a couple more I can't put my finger on yet. The first time i heard this song (which was today), I swear I heard 10 influences and was thoroughly blown away. I thought very highly of the AS...I think they are the best throwback to the 60's/70's in the last 15+ years.
Soul on ice 82 My ears do not deceive me! This is by far one of the best bands of all time! Funken Rock! GTFO!!!
That bass line rocks my face off... what an incredible song.
Good taste in music brought me here.
That's wonderful know any good songs?

Enjoy new fans. This band is GREATNESS.
Never heard a note from them before I watched the show this morning. Best new music I have heard in some time!

I can't remember what got me to them, i just know its my favorite, the soul always makes me feel good, and the song on your way hypes me up soo much it caused me to get a speeding ticket, my first one too. No cars were around, i just got lost into the song, well except for that cop.
Same thing happenend to me last year, along with St Vincent this year, 2 of my fav bands right now.
Eron Ramadanov Just went to their concert Wednesday, true GREATNESS.
Though Prince died and I'm still sad about it, still crying, he said he believes the future is in good hands. Then I go to Alabama Shakes station on Pandora and my ears are blessed with this gem and I believe him. 💜

This song is powerful, beautiful and just off-kilter enough for me. Sing it, baby.
i just read that Brittany (the vocalist) has synesthesia; she sees sounds as colors, how cool is that
Verónica Echenique
Yes I heard that as well.
Sound and Color

I agree 100%
Listen to Twenty One Pilots
Its plenty out there, but its hidden. They don't yell about their beauty, which makes finding them even more meaningful
Have you heard Leon Bridges?
Murph Dirt no but I'll look em up
2:47 chills every time through that whole section
+MaxSnow24 shit I did too, a bit earlier
One of the greatest bass lines I've ever heard in my life.
I fell in love with this band back when I first saw/heard them on Saturday Night Live hosted by Christoph Waltz back in 2013.
"Gimme All Your Love"
So much is going on
But you can always come around
Why don't you sit with me for just a little while?
Tell me, what's wrong?
If you just gimme all your love ohh
Gimme all you got, babe
Gimme all your love ohh
Bit more
So tell me what you wanna do
You say the world, it doesn't fit with you
Why don't you talk to me for just a little while?
I can only try to make it right
If you just gimme all your love ohh
Gimme all you got, babe
Gimme all your love ohh
Give me all your love
Give me all you got, babe
Give me all your love
:)
I love this song ..wish it WAS longer . I keep it on repeat when I listen to it!
the best
Here after a few years when I would listen and search for so much music. I miss that sort of energy. Time to take Alabama Shakes on my walks again. Just an amazing voice!
The instrumental parts of this song gives me the chills, the lyrics on top of that is just icing on the cake.
Alabama Shakes and Charles Bradley, these two do something for me that almost nothing else can. It's like an antidepressant mixed with a jolt of hope, courage and optimism... a feeling that everything will be ok. I find this stuff so comforting. Revisiting this amazing track after hearing it in the Malcolm & Marie trailer
On occasion you find an artist or band that is just what you wanted in the perfect place and time. You didn’t even know to ask for it, but there it is! And life is good.
This is the first track to ever draw tears from my eyes from just pure sound. Beautiful, raw, powerful. These guys are just musical geniuses!
This song is a modern masterpiece- it will go down with "Freebird" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" in my book.
Her voice is a universe masterpiece :-))
It was surprising to me that a band whose sound was already so identifiable could be even stronger and more pronounced a second time round, the snl performance blew me away, this song is absolutely illuminating with soul and integrity it outshines anything ive heard in the past 2 years seriously........
finally, back to real music, hair raising music. Chill bumps, you know it's good when you getem

Been on suck a huge Shakes kick recently. Feels like finding myself
Song is incredible
I agree.
Geoffrey Godwin oi
Probably one of the best musical pieces I have heard in my 21 years of living...
she ALWAYS has so much emotion in her singing but you have to watch her live (like this song on snl tonight) to feel her emotion when she sings.
Holy sweet baby Jesus. That changes between soul and Rock made it in the end is fuking awesome. Absolutly a Master piece
This band is so fresh and unique. I was hooked when I heard the IPad commercial, had to have more. Love some Alabama Shakes !!
That bass tone is unreal!
Just heard the new track on SNL and then I come on here to find another brand new track. What a treat, you guys rock!
Ditto!! Their performance was the best part of this episode.
You guys definitely need to listen to their first album in its entirety. Their new album drops April 21st; prepare yourselves now! If their second album is as good as their first, you'll never stop playing it.
***** She's the love child of Janis and Otis.
Unbelievable. When you thought every song that could be writ and every note had been hit, this comes along . There is a God. Sensational
Wow, the lead singer is going to be a legend I swear in the music industry
Just when you're about to give up trying to find a new music that's worth the listen, you stumble on this (while you're baked)... Blew my mind! Their whole album is amazing
Never gets old... on repeat ... full blast! Love you guys!
how can a band be so good??their songs are so special...i havent found not a single bad song from them..godamn..
One of my favourite songs ever. I literally screamed hearing it at the beginning of Malcom and Marie :')
I'm intoxicated by their music. I've been shaken by all their songs brought to tears. To find an artist whose ever song brings out all your emotions to the surface is so rare. To see some one completely open to u is beautiful

Only song that can bring a tear to my eyes.
This singer has so much soul , it just shakes all the sadness out of me
That moment at 2:15 when it all comes to a halt and then builds back up into a beautiful explosion…….I love that I still get goosebumps from it. 🥰🥰🥰

(I saw more than one dozen different acts that night alone, at Carnegie)
Peace😎
I heard you on Conan, usually I skip to the next program I want to watch, but I couldn't touch my remote. This is what music must do with you. Respect and greetings from Surinam.
Saw them live night before last in Asheville, NC...This one is incredible live!!
+MEL29 At the Orange Peel?
+cat clark The Cellular Center
Why didn't anyone tell me this band is so great? Instant fan!
The way he bends his notes at the end of his sentences DAMN! This song is fire man.
+Max Townsend I believe that's a woman.
+Max Townsend yeah its a girl, but true
YUP just brought me to tears
not even gonna lie it got me for a second too
same here.....I love music you can feel
This band had me with ' Hold On'. She sings with a ferocious feeling, owning the song completely, and she has the ability to transfer that to the audience. Great artist imho. Hope to hear more.
First time hearing this band on SNL. All I can say is I am now a fan. Been a long time since I have felt music that has moved me this much
Her, voice, the guitar, the drums, ughhhhhhhhhhhhh it soooooo goooooood!
Vinylsearch2015 60 I would be open to recommendations.
I would like to hear more bands like this if anyone knows any.
E la versione degli LPOM è fantastica
there is nothing like this band
This band is like nothing else!!!!Super good chills all the way through !!!!! Brings tears of joy !!!!!
So much is going on
But you can always come around
Why don't you sit with me for just a little while?
Tell me, what's wrong?
If you just gimme all your love ohh
Gimme all you got, babe
Gimme all your love ohh
Bit more
So tell me what you wanna do
You say the world, it doesn't fit with you
Why don't you talk to me for just a little while?
I can only try to make it right
If you just gimme all your love ohh
Gimme all you got, babe
Gimme all your love ohh
Give me all your love
Give me all you got, babe
Give me all your love
I've LOVED this band since I first heard "Hold On" in '13. But this song is just off the goddamn hook, it's so good. The rhythm section, the dynamics and guitar work, the craftsmanship, so solid. But Howard's pipes just knock me on my ass. God. Damn.
heard them on Conan and they blew my mind away !!!
saw them in Kansas City. during a pre-storm performance at an outside venue. the shit was EPIC!!
Oohh fuck this gave me goosebumps. The moment she sang I just got sudden goosebumps all over. What the fuck happened.
Britney happened. It happens to everyone every time she opens her mouth.
The beginning of most of their songs have this cool "floating through space" feel to them. I love the simplicity of their music, and it's done so well.
Dear YT,
I promise I won't ever doubt your recommendations, ever again.
THIS IS ABSOLUTELY MINDBLOWING 🤯❤🤯❤
this women was given a gift from god. hallelujah for this great talent!
Vivo na espera da banda voltar a ativa. São incríveis.
Dayum.. speechless on this one. This just hits so many different feels at once!!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this...any real Prince would. So chill.
Funny you say that. I posted this saying it had a Prince seduction feel to it. Lol
Trina Logan Right! LOL!
I cosign. That would've been an epic jam session.
Alabama Shakes have my vote for the most underrated band of all time. Songs like this are damn near perfect and I can’t wait for their eventual 3rd album.
Always fun listening to good music you completely forgot about. This is one of those songs for me :) such passion threw out the entire song .
Mit Worten nicht zu beschreiben, wie angenehm die Klänge auf meine Seele sinken und alten Wunden heilen.
Would you please visit Europe??? Vienna calling.
THANK YOU TYLER FOR PUTTING ME ON SUCH AWESOMENESS !!!
They did it again ! #Suits
Kamil Marzec I was just scrolling through the comments to see this ❤️
Wow I... felt.. this. The way she plays AND sings? Bro I cried Ngl
Love this song! Love this band! Britney has an AMAZING voice! This is REAL music and I love it! ❤️
Hello friend, how're you doing today?
This song has some Santana flavor in it. Especially with the organ and the way he sings it. Very nice.
this song never gets old
