Tasha's mad at Cecil for taking so long, but I think she forgot that Angstrom block all commutation devices inside the home. lol. Cecil was only able to realise something was wrong AFTER Mark took Angstrom out of the house. And even then he had to prepare a team to go in. So he showed up pretty quickly actually. When we see and his people show up Mark is in the middle of merc-ing Angstrom.

He was like no out of the question. As if he actually had the authority to stop him from leaving. It was the same in MCU when Ross tells the Avengers that if they don't sign the accords that they'll disband. As if they work for him and there was no doubt in his mind whatsoever that his threat would be followed. It never once occurred to him that they would simply tell him take a flying leap and throw his ass out the door. Making complete confident statements like that is arrogant beyond belief. The Avengers don't work for Ross TONY pays everything they have, do the government has ZERO authority nor jurisdiction. Ross was in fact on private property giving orders like he owned the place. That's what Cecil has done since day one. Acting like he has not only the authority but the right to DEMAND Oliver. Not to mention bugging their home without telling them. Cecil deserves over 90% of the hate he gets. But in those instances where it's actually not his fault, I think he should at least NOT be blamed. lol. But that's me. I won't blame someone just because it's easy or just because they're standing in front of me at that specific moment.

All you see in the invincible comic is webbing on Marks back when he returns. However, there’s an entire crossover issue with Invincible in the Marvel universe. He and spiderman become friends and go to Avengers tower. You could find the full issue online and read it without worrying about spoilers.
So here's what I think. I don't think that Angstrom has seen mark do this in each different universe. Maybe a couple, but I think he's living the memories of all the thousands of the OTHER Angstrom's whose minds he downloaded from episode one. Remember this Angstrom was the only one that had powers. So with his machine exploding and him being deformed AND now having all those thousands of different sets of memories, Angstrom done lost his mind.
Bingo. Yeah this Angstrom only "personally" saw what we saw in the start of this season, and it's all the other Angstroms' memories he's pulling from.
What was it? Like there were 100 of em hooked to the machine and he said he had 10 more in different worlds, or something like that? He was the only one to see this good Mark in this world, but the Mark from his own mirrored the other 99 Angstroms' situations....and majority rules lol

As a multiple-time reader of the whole comic series, I absolutely loved this season, personally. They changed some things for the better, but they kept the most important story beats and really gave us comic readers the chance to see these moments we loved onscreen
I love the way they have given Debbie more agency and changed Amber's character arc.
a lot of character development, which made mark, debbie, eve and amber so much more likeable and also redeemed s1 amber for me 😂

Comics spiderman isn’t owned by sony but movie/animation/game is which is why they cant show him
They (Sony) don't own the character (IP).
They own the broadcasting rights.
They're not the same thing.
Marvel/Disney still own the character and the IP.
They just can't make any movies (animated or live action) of him without Sony's permission or say-so

in the comic the spiderman cameo is like the batman one, you see his arm, they did have a crossover much later but this cameo was much more extended than what we got in the comic
That last “do you?” Was Mark saying “I’m doing this wether you like it or not, but i REALLY need you to understand WHY I’m doing this”. I don’t think he’s ever been as serious so far in the show. Not being good enough to save life is not the same as being good enough to manage to not take life when you’re so perfectly adapted to killing things.

Licenses for different characters are often divided up, so for example owner A has tv rights, owner B has movie righta and owner C has comics/other, and they often don't talk pr coordinate. It happens with a lot of Horror franchises. Like they got spiderman for the comics years ago but couldn't get the licensor on board for an animated show. That's the generalized rumsown of how this sorta thing typically works.

Yes, that's from the actual Invincible comics crossover like 20+ years ago, and yes Tre's right; your both right on the copyrights/permission, but Tre calling out Sony is what the issue was in this episode.
The simplest way to describe it is Marvel Comics owns Spider-Man and his "characters" in print only; they sold the "moving media" rights to those characters to Sony....meaning of it's Spider-Man in a comic, that's OG Marvel, but Spider-Man moving in a movie/video game/animation is owned by Sony. Marvel Comics cleared the crossover comic back in the gap, the reason this knockoff Spidey and Doc Ock were used in this show is because of Sony 👌🏾

26:18 You're absolutely correct here. It's Sony. Robert Kirkman has written comics for Marvel, so he got them to agree to put Spider-Man in the Invincible comic. But Sony owns the rights to Spider-Man in movies and TV. The same way that Marvel could do whatever they wanted with X-Men in the comics, but they couldn't do movies or TV until Disney bought Fox Studios.

Sony owns Spider-Man, not Disney.And there's a lot more legal dispute.When it comes to showing characters in TV shows and movies.Then there is in comic books for comic books.It's way easier to get crossovers

Is a 99% failure, but after you kill somebody you gotta eat something when you do a good job or a bad job I gotta eat. No questions asked.
It's not Marvel that prevented them from putting Spider-Man into this episode.
Sony owns the live-action rights to Spider-Man (both animation and live-action).
They're the ones that Amazon would have to get permission from, and even though Amazon and Sony have a working relationship (Sony doesn't have a Streaming platform, so most of their movies, and shows usually end up getting streamed on Amazon), it's more likely that they didn't want any brand-confusion with their own Spider-verse series and movies with Miles Morales which also deals with the multiverse.
It's a wasted opportunity by Sony, if you ask me. They could have given Amazon one-time rights to do this in exchange for having Mark/Invincible appear in the final Spider-man : Beyond the Spider-verse movie in a cameo role as one of the dimensions that Angstrom sends him to being a dimension that Miles happens to cross in.
It would have been great branding and a great way to keep your Spdier-verse movies in the public zeitgeist and public conversation and consciousness even while they're still under production at the moment.
Marvel had no problem letting Kirkman use Spider-man and other characters in the comics when they were originally published.
But it's a different situation obviously with live action now, and with Marvel owned by Disney and the Spider-Man broadcasting rights held by Sony*.
(*I should mentioned that Marvel/Disney obviously still owns the IP as well as the print/publishiing rights and merchandising rights (which is where the BULK of the profits and money from Spider-Man) as well as the video game/digital rights to Spider-Man)

The way I see it, Mark did what needed to be done. Angstrom went too damn far. I sympathize with his losses and trauma, but you don't target a man's family and think that you're getting away with it.
Mark needs to grow up and accept his Viltrumite side, and yet, be in balance with his human and Viltrumite sides to become Prime Invincible.
The Invincible who distills the ingredients to make the best Mark Grayson/Invincible in existence.
And that's where his father, Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man, is going to be very important next season, people.
Both men are having crises in conscience.
They're going to need each other to heal and to get to their next stage of personal evolution.
This isn't a spoiler mark has been holding back this entire time. The fight he had with his father to save his brother was a hint. And what happens to him next season smh this is a small part of his power a very small part
