It’s hard to imagine not doing the same to Angstrom if I were in Mark’s shoes. The man kept pushing him so far and kept attacking his family who did no wrong in this universe. Someone with that much of an unstable mind with the power to send you to many dimensions at the drop of a hat is too dangerous to roam around and didn’t really leave Mark with much of a choice. Of course, Mark is traumatized because now in Angstrom’s eyes, he’s a killer that did what he expected Invincible to do which is what Mark was trying to prove wrong. No person is ever the same after the first time they commit murder.

I dont blame Angstom. From what i gotta think of it like the Joker. In most universes Mark is evil. We clearly see this. One just so happens to cliqm to be good but when in every single alternate universe your getting done dirty by him id kill em all since good marks are rare to begin with.
I also dont believe he was ever gonna do any serious harm to Debbie or Oliver. When he throws the knife he specifically opens the portal infront of the knife and not Mark. Pretty sure the only reason he did start to go at her was because she tried to play hero and it pissed him off. It doesnt help that in most other universes he said she was right along side them so its dafe to assume she is also just as bad in the other worlds.
He's a 'villian' you cant really hate because he's justified. As someone who doesnt read the comics or keep up 2 much with the show i thinj they did him well. And Mark beating him literally proves his point. He is just as bad as Omniman. Mark tries to excuse his actions with 'he said he was stronger' and theres 2 problems with that.
The first issue is he also stated he sent him to other places to soften him up. Hes still human so ovbiously he isnt that physically able.
The second thing is he was just quite literally mindlessly beating him to a pulp and then is in shock the human being couldnt handle it. Sure emotions and whatnot but he just wanted an excuse to beat him to a pulp once he heard he was stronger.
Im just saying he tried to talk with him and Debbie clearly saw how distressed he was. So why was her genius idea to prove his point by showcasing shes just like her other versions (just as bad as Mark). Debbie ultimately made it worse and i do think Mark likely couldve talk no jutsu his way outta this if he simply tried a little more. But with Debbie making it worse she kinda sealed his fate and forced Mark to ignore any reasoning.

It's about knowing proper proportion of force so you can live with yourself and your level of control. Men have to deal with this concern ALL the time when it comes to dealing with other people, especially women.

I understand where you are coming from, but it's not preachy in my opinion. It's a core of humanity to want to be at peace and preserve life. Most times it's not about being high and mighty. It's about the idea that if I cross the line and kill someone.. what stops me from moving the line to justify it again and again and again... its about trying not to lose your sense of justice and falling into a void you cant escape. Trauma. It's used a lot because it's normal to not want to be a killer, especially for young adults and teens who assume major responsibilities.

Great episode because it really shows the parallel between Mark and his father. Part of his initial resistance to his fathers plan/indoctrination was the fact that he didn’t understand different motives that could drive a particular person to seriously hurt/kill other people. He believed killing was something meant for the evil since his father did so much for objectively bad reasons. This event tears him apart because his motives were totally pure as he was looking to protect his family. Also, I definitely agree with your sympathy for Mark taking a life. Angstrom Levy, while many of his counterparts had absolutely horrific lives, couldn’t differentiate and hurt the only innocent versions of both Mark AND Debbie. You can make an argument that Mark still being young and impressionable could pose a threat since he joins his father/Viltrumites in a ton of other realities, but thanks to Debbie he’s on the correct path ONLY in this universe out of all the others, and she was completely innocent and did not deserve any violence towards her.

When I read the comic there was also nobody around which who told me which character I can say or am supposed to I like and which not cause of sth they do in the far future.
Just experience everything as you go and I wish people stop hinting at things that certain characters probably do in the future and basically almost spoil it too.
At least people (for now) did this with only 1 character so far cause there are many more characters that this almost spoilig thing could happen with, which might further interrupt the future enjoyment of this show.

The "I miss my wife" line hits so hard when looking back. It's symbolic of how Nolan's time on Earth really did change him, and made him better. From the moment that Nolan cheered Mark on in his baseball game, he was more human than viltrumite, because he showed love for "lesser beings." Everything he was saying to Mark in the season 1 finale was him ultimately trying to convince HIMSELF that he didn't love Debbie, or that humans were meaningless. Even in the Atom Eve special, where he almost kills Debbie and Mark, he was showing regret and shame for even THINKING of doing it.

Mark was wrong about college not being useful or necessary. Nolan was a writer for at least two decades while also being a superhero, so Mark could absolutely still benefit from college. At the same time, he IS right that learning to control his temper is priority #1. If he has to put college on hold for a while to work on that, so be it.
He was absolutely right to not say anything to Eve. He literally just broke up with Amber and then killed someone in anger. He is nowhere near a healthy emotional place right now and adding a new relationship on top of all that would be a disaster. Also, we don't know how Mark feels about Eve; we only know that Eve has feelings for him. It should be on _her_ to say something to Mark, and it was selfish (but understandable) for future Eve to put that on him, knowing what he just went through.

The 20 year later crew found THEIR Mark that was stuck in a DIFFERENT dimension all by himself for 20 years, he most likely went crazy. They figure okay hes here so we gotta go further back in time. Mark made the best decision but there was no choice but to come back how will you deal with that situation?
Option #1 Experiment with the dead guy's body to try to activate somehow power?
Option #2 Dude you have superpowers you can go to space that has some highly intelligent people who actually know how to build a multiverse or time travel?
Option #3 The 1% is that eat him to gain his power you're half human and half alien the other alien would dominate the other half with multiverse power.
Is a 99% failure, but after you kill somebody you gotta eat something when you do a good job or a bad job I gotta eat. No questions asked.

I need to understand why someone like you feels the need to spoil plot points for people that don't know. What makes you think that is ok?

The 'anyone of us would do the exact same' is quite literally what put Levy in this situation. Dude was getting screwed over across the multiverse by Mark. All Mark did was prove his point. He is just as bad as he is across the multiverse. He likely wasnt gonna hurt the family too much either....when he threw the knife he portaled infront of the knife instead of Mark. He couldve just placed it between mark and the knife but he clearly wasnt gonna do any serious harm to Debbie or Oliver. Debbie attacking him made it far worse then it needed to be because im pretty sure he said shes just as bad and her genius play was to attack the guy. Mark likely couldve talked it out if she didnt imo. Just way to built up on emotions.

I’m sorry but he even stated he wanted him and his family dead . He was also throwing them around in the beginning I’m sorry but there’s no reasoning with Levy . He only saw a death for mark that’s it . Mark tried talking. it didn’t work. I get the backstory of levy I can see why he wants to kill this mark but at the sametime threatening his family ?! Really !? That crosses the line .

@blindswordofspoken8075 Feats>Statements. Yes he claims he wanted them dead. Yet every opportunity he had the chance to he doesnt. Once a character goes against a statement its hard to continue to argue for it when the actions themselves disprove the statement in question. Wants the fanily dead yet was using them as bait the entire time. Didnt do anything serious to Debbie and didnt threaten Olivers life until after Debbie attacked him. Clear chance to kill Debbie and tp Mark away yet doesnt do so. The feats literally disprove his own statement. Had another chance to kill her after he broke her arm and Mark was gone. Him stopping and hesitating after Mark initially tries to talk show in the beginning he couldve been reasoned with. Definitely wouldnt have been easy in the slighest but my point was the option was still on the table and Debbie made the hope for talking it out nonexistent. Im just tryna say he is justified in his actions and no side is exactly innocent

My brother that man was straight crazy. There was no objective thinking in that moment. He decided he was gonna kill mark AND his family just because his memories. Mark killing him is just the result of angstrom pushing his luck. Clearly mark could've killed angstrom but kept holding back. He's nothing like the other marks who casually would've eviscerated that guy.

I already made my points in another thread, but I want to make it clear here too: Angstrom was insane and clearly not willing to talk. He was an antagonistic monster consumed by his trauma and hubris. He started the situation with deadly force and continued to press on with that aggression. He's a tragic person, but not one who merits sympathy.

I agree with your sentiment and i think the problem was also not that he killed him but the way in which he killed him. Say what you want about he hurt the guys family but at the end of the day he still lost control which is unacceptable especially for the amount of power he posses and as he will grow stronger over the years. Which was kind of already pointed out by from Mark himself at the end of the episode. Also angstrom didnt deserve death. He broke debbies arm and that was it. He did not do anything else and he had ample opportunities to do so. Also this angrstrom in particular (the original from the episode) hasnt hurt anyone before either. So yeah just cuz your mom got her arm broken doesnt mean you deserve death and especially to get your head bashed in.

Anyone else felt like the ending was so anti climatic? Like since they got no clues or hints on what other characters are doing, everything just stop.
