I do log my food, but, I put it in my macro counter. It gives me control. I do it the night before or that morning. I like it. 1. My whole day is planned. 2. I tweak it to fit my macros in. I do a low carb, high protein, moderate fat. It keeps track of my calories and fiber intake. As well as skipping breakfast, 16/8. It gives my control! I really like having my day planned and don’t have to think about it.. It also helps me with my grocery list. It feels good to be organized.

I know to not count calories, but it’s so indoctrinated! I’m
currently tracking macros just to see where I am. I’m trying to learn to eyeball servings with decent accuracy.
When I hear a trusted expert like you, Dr Susan, say to stop counting calories, I do a happy dance. Thank you for sharing your expertise with us.

I was thrilled to hear you’re vegetarian. I thought you were going to recommend carnivore diet when you said high protein. I’m overweight right now, usually I follow a whole food plant based diet, but have been on a stressful processed carb diet since last Thanksgiving ( 5 months ago) and gained 15 pounds. Help! I’m so happy to hear your motivational video.

Excellent advice in this video. Thank you!! I feel better keeping track of my calorie intake but definitely will include more protein in my daily diet.

Your videos are packed full of great information! I’m doing most of these things, but definitely going to add in a few more. You are right about eliminating dairy, gluten, sugar and meat as much as possible. I am 51 and eat a whole food plant-based diet for the last five years. I have found it to be very helpful in feeling my best. Also want to say congratulations on getting 5 pounds of muscle! Wow! Very impressive! 🎉

Thanks for this! As a meat eater, if I eat mostly meat, eggs, and also nuts and cheese, I am able to feel full while consuming very little carbs. As a woman in my mid fifties, it has been the way I have lost weight. Also, fasting gets easier the more you do it. Eating before one in the afternoon would seem unnecessary now.

I absolutely don’t take probiotics, I do use, plain Greek yogurt, kimchi and nutritional yeast every day. Don’t do grains, the only dairy I eat is fermented, cottage cheese and yogurt and cheese…

Great info as usual. I have ramped up the free weights so now I will concentrate on increasing my protein intake with the dairy-free OWYN shakes.

There is no way I can hit that protein number in an 8 hour feeding window. I can’t eat eggs. I simply can’t digest that much. I can do whey protein but don’t think that much processed food I’d good for me. Can’t do plant based at all! I try to eat a can of sardines each day. Really helps my body feel it’s best.

You are eating the best fish, because it is a smaller fish. But, it still has mercury in and you should do 2-3 times a week. And it does build up and stores in the body….

I just found your channel. Do you have a video on Protein for a vegetarian, as I have been a vegetarian for many years. Are there certain recipes/books that show how to increase protein if a vegetarian? Thanks…your channel is very inspiring!

You have the best advice videos!’ This is exactly what I have been doing for 6 weeks! I never thought I could cut out dairy, gluten and do intermittent fasting but have and ❤❤❤it. Eating enough protein is key ! Eating more and losing fat is against anything I ever heard of in my 67 years!! It works. I feel better, have more energy, no stomach issues and clothes are looser!!!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom, strength and experience!! Thorne should pay you!! 😊

I’m trying to get in the groove but not sure what to eat. Can you give me an example of a day of eating please? (Esp protein sources). I need to be able to eat more because right now I have to stay under 1,100 calories on keto. Thanks and good luck!

Hello you said don’t eat dairy but then mentioned yogurt as a good gut option. Is Greek yogurt a good option or do you recommend staying away from it? Love your videos.

The 1gram per lb ideal weight applies to animal sources of protein. Plant based proteins are not as well absorbed and that has been proved out by science. You can still eat plant protein but increase to 1.5g per lb ideal body weight.

    Hi
I know this video is older so I hope you get this question. Have you ever heard that getting too many keratin treatments can make you lose hair? For some reason, the back of my hair has very thin areas. I had a keratin about 4 months ago.

I see you color your hair, I am growing out my gray and hate it but my mom had breast cancer at 50 and im 45. Is coloring your hair safe or should I suck it up and deal with it? (Sorry this is off topic)

We are mostly carnivores in our home. My wife and I eat plently of beef, butter, baconn and eggs. Our health has improved exponentially since we went low carb over 3 years ago. If you want to improve your health you may want to look into this way of eating.

Can low estrogen, estrogen dominance or low testosterone cause cold hands and feet? My t3 thyroid is within range (low-normal).
