  • Assembling the second pack of parts for the Fanhome 1966 Batmobile Diecast partwork model. Building most of the front suspension and installing the engine and transmission. George Barris really made a cool hero car out of the Lincoln Futura concept car and I am sure Adam West and Burt Ward would have gotten a kick out of seeing this go together. I think we need a 1/8 scale Black Beauty to sit next to it

    I'm over the moon on this. Not only the correct Lincoln engine but, the cow belly frame as well.

      The attention to detail on the frame and suspension design really is impressive!

      @@PitstainHobbies This should be my next round of parts. When I get to the dash and door panels, I'll have to mod them if they look like their photos. Everything else so far is dead on or close enough.

      @KevinWhite-zb5os so far the exterior and chassis stuff seems really nice and the interior is where you can have some fun.

    As a kid in the sixties, I religiously watched Batman each week. I had the Corgi Batmobile as well. I've watched a few people build this car, most only go to stage 14. I ordered mine last week, and the first two stages are arriving today. Can't wait to see this build go further so I know what I'm in for.

      You will be happy, other than the sparkplug wires being a bit fiddly, follow my advice about filing out the main crank pulley before attempting to install and the file or sandpaper off the powdercoat on any suspension parts that seem too tight. good luck!

    That's looking good Ian. I can't wait to see this thing finished!

    Another great video, Ian! As a note, I keep a roll of 1" wide emery cloth that I lightly rotate around most painted hinge points, I found that helps keep the axle round vs. risking possible flats using a file. The offending tightness can sometimes also be caused by a small amount of flash along an unfortunately placed die cast seam. The emery cloth and oil combo really helps a smooth pivot/rotation action.

    I went..."wtf you turned it over and are putting it on wrong side" lmao What a beast as far as metal so far. I'm really curious to how the doors will fit the rear clip wings. Wasn't it advertised initially at 27 lbs.? That's a 18 month old baby lol

      Yeah it's a beast for sure Steve, and I'm sure I will break something in the process!

    I know this is off subject. But have you seen the new model from Agora models the AH-64 Apache Long Bow Helicopter. I mean I was in the Marine Corps so I will not be getting it at all. As a matter of fact after I finish the Charger from Fanhome then I will be getting the 1966 Batmobile. Should be fun. Nice video man take care. And happy fathers day

    My second shipment will be delivered tomorrow but I can’t decide if I want to do it now or wait a couple months collecting parts to see what mods are released so I won’t need to take anything apart if a mod I want is installed toward the beginning(cough Knight Rider cough)

    • @PitstainHobbies
      @PitstainHobbies  23 дня назад

      Well generally the modders cant really make the mods until they get those stages themselves, unlike aftermarket parts companies for real cars where they are sent specs well in advance to make accessories, so you may be waiting a very long time.
