I tried these o my Cayman s. They are ok for someone who doesnt go full on, on track days but I do and I was geting serious abs-issues quite quickly. They wear very well and work good while cold and or wet. I will not be buying these again as they just arent quick enough. Nice and cheap though.
Thank for the feedback. Interested in what you compare them to. What is your “go-to” quick tyre? I’ve been through 5 or 6 sets all used “flat out” for time attack.
Hey mate have you had any experience with the Zestino Gredge 07A tyre? looking at possibly picking some up at a good price and just curious what they're like? haven't really seen them before
I haven't used that one. Only 07RS and 07R. 07R is the 240tw version and 07A looks to be the 280tw version. I was more than happy with the 240tw for daily duties, I even used them on a rally sprint and they held up really well. So I can't comment from experience but if the price is good then no real harm in trying them.
I just came off of Bridgestone RE11a to Zestino 07R and my first impressions are that the 07R have a much softer sidewall, and less feedback... they are also a bit narrower and shorter than the Potenzas I had. Im using them on a 1990 CRX Si 195 50 15. They are very sticky though.
They scrubbed a little actually. I’m stock height (for a Clubsport) with -2.2deg camber and fender screw mod done. Wheels are 8.5+35. A +45 will not scrub. These 245 run quite wide. I just need a touch more neg camber.
@@trackhackau those wheels and tires suit the car amazingly. Does the fender screw mod work I've heard it done alot just never heard the results especially on antracknday where your actually driving the car harder
Thanks mate. Fender screw mod works as it really sticks out. But I still scrubbed on the fender. Even when driving on the street in Comfort mode. If I get the guards rolled it will fix it. Or just a touch more neg camber. Which I want anyway.
were the backs also 245, and did you get enough heat into them?maybe on a demanding track, but what about fast tracks? better go 235 on the back for fwd?
I haven’t so can’t really comment. On this car and my previous GTI I have tracked with the factory Bridgestone S001, Pirelli PZero, Michelin PSCup2, Nankang AR1 and the Zestinos. I’ve also run Zestino 240tw version on a tarmac Rallysprint.
They wore pretty hard when I first used them and pressures were too high. I’ve only used them twice so don’t have a longer term view. My gut feel is they won’t last as long as AR1. But only slightly.
Hi! I have 2set of Sparco Asetto Gara 8x18 et48 and the hankook ventus f200 240/640 18 fits quite well on this alloy wheels. I use this on races...but for track days i wohld like to use semi slicks..i have 1set Trofeo R 235/40r18...they fit perfect..but would like to get more grip...so 245/40r18 will be better imo...but fully afraid that the tyre will be too wide for the 8x18...what do youbthink?! Can you make a trial 245/40 18 zestino on a 8x18?! Wohld be great for me!!! 🤣🤣😅😅 But i will appreciate it!!!
@@trackhackau thanks for the fast response!!! Maybe on trackdays the time is not so important...thats just fun, when big guns like m3 m4 pirsches can not keep up with...🤣 Within a few weeks my stg2+ tuebo will be installed...oe size but different design compressor wheel...and stronger bearing and shaft on the board 😎 this will be 420hp and 420lb/ft on 1.8bar with faster spool than oe turbo.
We found that pulling those decorative caliper covers really helped cool the brakes. And of course ditched a bit of unsprung weight.
Not sure how much airflow you get on the front but worth trying. Good suggestion!
Thank you for the review, really appreciated

Wow, that RS3 at the start was gorgeous! The owner must be pretty cool dude!

How did the 245 fit I'm lowered on H&R springs just to lower the centre of gravity a bit 30mm drop I don't think the 245s would fit at all

245 all round. I've just done a faster track with them. Worked really well. Car rotated nicely.
have you used falken azenis rt615k ? if you have would you recomend it over the zestinos?

@trackhackau what's your review of the 07R?
Hey! How has the tyre wear been on these Zestinos so far? Would you say they wear better than the AR1s?
They wore pretty hard when I first used them and pressures were too high. I’ve only used them twice so don’t have a longer term view. My gut feel is they won’t last as long as AR1. But only slightly.
How do they perform on the street? Would they last?
Really well. Though I’d recommend their 240tw version instead. Called 07R.
The AR-1 is more a MINIMALLY to no cut slick, than a 'semi-slick'. 😉

I actually have a set of 235/35/19 Zestino mounted on 19x8. They fit just right, sidewalls are dead square. I would not use 245. Just use 235/40/18.
