    I had a pretty interesting experience with the 07RS. The deterioration between (hot weather) track days was a little disappointing. I ran a set of A052 before these, and found them pretty similar to the Zestinos when fresh. But by the second track day (5 heat cycles), A052s were still sticky, whilst the Zestinos had gone all hard, with clear evidence of overheating and a lot of the pace was gone. By the third track (10 or so heat cycles), the Zestinos were greasy and unpredictable. A052s were still pretty good, thought more badly worn.

    • @trackhackau
      @trackhackau  3 года назад +1

      That’s interesting. What pressure did you run them at? I found they didn’t like getting too hot and would wear quickly but we’re still fast. I aim for 28-30psi hot.

    Unsure how you found the Zestinos in anyway comparable to a properly engineered competition tyre like the A050 in regard to lap times.....unless you are not pushing your car hard enough to find the full grip level of the A050s or have a setup issue? In my experience the Zestino RS are way slower than A052 and RE71RS...both of which are slightly slower than the medium compound A050. The Zestinos didn't like heat and the front left tyre delaminated around QR timeattack sessions on other competitors cars.

  • @enjoytheride_cz

      @@trackhackauI'm currently trying to figure out what would be faster between the daily drivable tyres the RS4, 07R and AD09.
      I've asked this in the Track Racers Australia group and a lot think the AD09's are superior even though I've shared tests that show the RS4 is quicker than the AD09 in the Tire Rack test and only 0.5 seconds behind the AO52. And the RS4 only 0.6 behind the AO52 in the Tyre Reviews test as well. Also there was a correlation between these two tests with the RT660 being quicker than the AO52.

    Thanks for a great video man, really appreciate it. I’m currently running RS4s on my GR Yaris and am up for tyres so I found this video really helpful. I’ve been wanting to go a little faster but I’m shy with my wallet to go to the A052 (not even the A050). The Zestinos are really well priced but I was unsure of what to expect. Can you tell me how many days and how many road KM you’ve got out of them? My RS4 are 4 heavy days in and 6000km, tread is still good but I feel the times are getting harder to achieve as they cycle out. I haven’t been kind to them, though in my dream world I was hoping for more (lol). How’d you go with these?

    • @trackhackau
      @trackhackau  2 года назад +3

      Zestinos won’t last as long as RS4s but I believe they keep consistent times for longer. I get 3-4 track days out of a set of fronts if I can’t rotate them. Double that if I can rotate. Road use I don’t know. They die due to track use first for me. Zestinos are faster for sure.
      RE71RS are worth a look too. Cheaper than A052 but my expensive than Zestino. I’m yet to try on track but my experience on the street is that they are amazing.
