This was quite interesting. I'm saving it to my gardening playlist. Peppermint doesn't need to be put in water to get roots. Just cut a piece of someone's plant, take it home, and stick it in the ground. Keep it watered and it will grow and spread.
I have tried starting plants in water and potting mix. My personal observations are; root vegetables such as sweet potato, regular potato, onions and leeks start better in soil or potting mix. Leafy vegetables such as lettuce or basil start better in water. Rosemary and lavender, I have only managed to start in water. Also don't peel the avocado seed. The only benefit is that it looks shiny and white instead of dull and brown, but you risk it splitting (as seen in video) which costs the plant half the stored nutrients from the seed.
Auntie, I replant the cabbage base, so that it goes to seed. I started with 1. The seeds dropped. Then germinated. They will will give you a whole crop the next year.
I've done this since I was a child ( live off the farm) now with this refresher (and more) while retired, I can enjoying doing this updated info - thank you.
Unpredictable. They may carry genetics from either mother or father plant. But they can also be same as well, praxuss cherry is an example of hybrid that became heirloom tomato.
Oh thank you Jag!! I'm just not getting it right with rosemary though :( Tried a few times in water, stripped the stem about 3/4 and shaved a bit off the bottom with a scissor edge. They just died but then I realized that it wasn't a sunny windowsill. I've tried again with rooting hormone and straight into soil, but the whole thing just looks dead to me. I'm leaving it another week to see if anything happens. It's been about 1.5 to 2 weeks now. There might just still be a spark of life in there. I keep cutting stems off my landlords newly planted rosemary for my attempts haha but at least his bush is shooting out nice and thick. Perhaps that is the problem, that his plant is still very young??
I've enjoyed watching your channel but due to youtube deciding to stop/ take off President Trumps Rally in Conroe Tx. I am going to Telegram. I looked and you are not on Telegram.
hello jag, thank u for all the helpful videos. Q: i have rosemary in pots in my bright unsunny balcony, i notice about a third or half of the lower stems turn brownish (including some of the lower leaves) i this normal? if not, whst should i do to fix this? Pls note, this is true for a plant i transplanted a year ago & also the same with seedlings i regrow 5 moths ago, thank you
I am fascinated by the way Nature works!! There shouldn’t be anyone hungry in the world! Recently I planted a few capsicum seeds on a vase just to see what happened… I was happily surprised … Got two green plants which produced several capsicums!! 👏😆
Hi Jag Glad 😀 found your videos. Immediately subscribed it .Love your videos, every tips are very valuable. Saw your micro greens videos too. Being a vegetarian for 27 years I am still lacking of nutritions, now I gonna start my micro greens as I already have few vegetables growing in my small garden. Keep up your good job and you’re doing great service for the nature too🙏 Saraswathy Brisbane ,Australia ( Rtd. fire officer Malaysia)
Do the vegetables have to be from the organic section at the grocery store or the regular section? Will they have that yummy home grown taste or the bland taste most store bought veggies have?
I've succeeded at everything you have in your video, but my results with lettuce and celery are very poor. Only one of six celery stubs grew roots, while every attempt with lettuce has failed. Why has this happened?
Wow this info is such a gift. Thank you for keeping it short & to the point. Question.... does it matter? GMO, non-GMO, Organic veggie scraps bc u did not mention at all.

Jeez is there anything that he can’t grow?! Wow!
My submerged pinapple lost its leaves and started smelling, it only grew a very tiny root.
Do not submerge all the way, only the bottom inch and keep changing water every 3 days.
I've grown avocados by putting the seed, with a small tail, right in pot. 3 months later I gave it as a gift
Great video! Also beetroot tops give deep red leaves - great mixed with spinach ❤️💚

Yea the avocados will taste bad

Very helpful
Thanks so much for sharing, will definitely be trying a few.
Why is my celery so skinny?
Can we apply the same method for aquaponics farming also?
Oh this is truly a lifesaver! Especially in the current climate. Thank you so very much
That's how I grow my garlic, scallions and onions
Thank you. That was great. Very efficient.
Thanks
How long does it take to produce pineapple you can eat? I heard like 2 or 3 years???? I hope not that long.
18 months
@@DaisyCreekFarms Awesome!!!!!

I've succeeded at everything you have in your video, but my results with lettuce and celery are very poor. Only one of six celery stubs grew roots, while every attempt with lettuce has failed.
Why has this happened?
They have to be fresh, sometimes they are in refrigeration at stores which kills the roots.
R u from India
R not your roots in India , like parents , grandparents ?
Wow, great ideas, 👏👏👏👍
bok choy also grows very well ,
As an absolute newbie to gardening this was super informative thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video.
Hi Jag. Thank you for the upload!
With leaks and celery; do you need to dry the bottoms you cut for 2 weeks before planting?
No you do not, they might die out.
Please don’t give false hope on avocado tree. Getting a good avocado out of a seed is something like one in ten thousand or more.
After you grow the tree from seed, you can graft from an existing tree. I have more information here ruclips.net/video/YjVvAExOtwE/видео.html
👍😊👍 love ur videos 💜
WOW! I’m never going to buy seeds again!! 👍👍
You can also save seeds from lots of vegetables as well, made a complete video here ruclips.net/video/nO4gGJ7mDO8/видео.html
When you propagate plants in water, basil for example, are you adding nutrients to the water? My plants start to rot before they root. Cheers! Thanks.
No nutrients need, change water every 2 days
@@DaisyCreekFarms thanks! Maybe my tap water is the issue.
Wow this info is such a gift. Thank you for keeping it short & to the point. Question.... does it matter? GMO, non-GMO, Organic veggie scraps bc u did not mention at all.
It doesn't matter as far as growing is concerned but always use organic. Organic is also non GMO
@@DaisyCreekFarms Is it correct to assume all fruits & veggies are indeed GMO if it's not certified organic? Or am i being paranoid?
No, most vegetables and fruit are not GMO. Most grains are like corn, soy, wheat etc.
Loving your vids
Thank you, glad you like the videos :)
Thanks a lot Boss 😃
Thanks Jag! Soil suggestions for these?
Just potting soil for indoors, or you can add 30% compost, and 10% worm castings with potting soil for outdoors.
What if I don’t have my own garden I rent a apartment
You can grow these next to a window ruclips.net/video/DeLjnFTDjFc/видео.html
Amazing!
Extremely helpful!
I've grown over 20 avocado🥑 plants. Now I just can't grow mangoes 🥭
I can't grow avocados or mangoes
Just place the avacado seed in water, or dirt (needs constant watering though)@@ReapWhatYouSowGardening
Jag, your videos would be easier to watch if you stopped using the repetitive background music, just saying.
I like it
If you want to wait 1.5 years to regrow one pineapple, be my guest.
Rude.
Great video. 👍
