I have been using a small normal spoon as tongue scraper for years now. It was long before they invented these things. I stick with my spoon. It's very effective. It literally shows me how happy (or not) my body was the night before.
@@dianacoulson4724 - I'm thinking not... it wouldn't be able to get back as far, at the right angle. Also not very wide (but maybe you're only gonna use it sideways with the side of the spoon and not getting the back of the tongue). Edge roundness is also a factor. Some spoons have very rounded edges that won't scrape very well at all; others can be a very sharp edge and would scrape as well as you need it to, at least on the areas it can properly reach.

I love using the dual handle tongue scraper even though i have a 4+ gag reflex. I just cant go far back holding a tongue scraper in 1 hand. I have better control when using both hands.

Thank you so much Dr Emovon on RUclips for all your hard work and support during this difficult time. Your humility, kindness, and strength are greatly appreciated. Keep being the best doctor that you are. for curing me from bad breath totally without any side effects...❤❤❤
Hi Mr doctor I have a question and I hope you answare me, why we need to use tongue scrapper while others do not need it? The tongues are deferent or what reason is for this problem?
Great video, Dr. Nemeth! It's insightful to see how different designs can effectively reduce bacteria and improve oral health, aligning with Kriss AI's emphasis on the importance of regular tongue cleaning for fresher breath and better overall hygiene.

If you use a “soft” bristle toothbrush which is what dentists usually suggest so as not to wear down your tooth enamel, it will not do the job of removing the biofilm and gunk from your tongue, so no, it won’t work well! And toothbrushes that have the nubs on the backside for tongue cleaning don’t work well because the brush head is too small. I have always cleaned my tongue when I brush my teeth, that’s just how I was raised. I personally prefer and use the Orabrush that he showed in the video. It is plastic with silicone and the silicone bristles and I find it works well for me. It takes just a few passes (of course, everyone has a different size tongue) and I get my tongue nice and clean and start my day with a clean palette! I brush and use it morning and night and haven’t had cavities for years! The Orabrush isn’t too expensive, maybe $4-6, but you can check Dollar stores, if you have them where you live. I have had and used the metal tongue scrapers but find them too hard and can hurt or damage taste buds. But that’s just me! Maybe I’m scraping too hard.

@@johndorney4888 Since my comment I have more experience with metal tongue scrapers, and yea a spoon can definitely work just fine. Ideally it's a wide spoon. It's just that it's going to be a pretty weak scrape, due to the angle the spoon will be at. Which can be good enough for some.
let's admit all dentist sucked. never did a dentist tell me to scrape my tongue, never did a dentist tell me not to use a hard or firm toothbrush because it will cause gum recession etc... thank you all bad dentist!
The Orabrush is the best I’ve used as the brush gets so much crap off, then you scrape. I love it. Brilliant.

What about the bacteria on part of the tongue that is inside the throat? What about bacteria in intestines?

Can you just use your toothbrush to brush your tongue after brushing your teeth.
There are actually toothbrushes with built-in scrapers on the back if you have trouble finding or affording tongue scrapers.
Isn’t effective
All you’re doing is spreading the bacteria, not taking it off.

copper tongue scrapers hands down the best.
lol judging by the video and comments.. all tongue scrapers successfully scrape tongues. 🥳

Peak Essentials and Orabrush are way better than all of these combined. Any flat hard brush works better to scrub tongue.
