Wow this must be a nightmare of a series to follow.
No kidding, the "Blood Verse" is a confusing mess
Kinda funny Youngblood can’t catch a break yet spawn is going on strong 💪 301 issues baby!
As I guy that is collecting Youngblood and eXtreme studios stuff it is. You've got the main team and then "Team Youngblood". Then don't get me started on the solo stuff like Prophet and Bloodstrike.
To me, Youngblood only “mattered” because of Chapel and his conflict with Spawn. The rest was just “EXTREME 90s” with grinning bulky characters who flex muscles that don’t even exist.
The 2017 Youngblood series was a good read, but Alan Moore's Youngblood had so much potential.
I bought the first issue for $0.50 at my local comics shop. Gotta love the 90's industry crash

The unfinishe series of Rob Liefeld creation-You Think You Know Comics?
But that title would confuse people as which unfinished series by Rob Liefeld they're talking about.
Liefeld was notorious for treating deadlines more like 'suggested due dates' and having a very short attention span when it came to projects.
Chapel and Cabot stone are my favorite image characters

So basically, they kept trying, it kept failing, but they just kept trying. Christ.
It wasn't all downright terrible. As stated in the video, Moore's short run on the series was quite decent, along with the 2008 series.
Theres alot of good stuff, you cant listen to 90s image haters, they often have never actualyl read any of it and are just mad at attractive people existing.

as terrible as YOUNGBLOOD usually is, Id read a book with those designs and and style. Has a very Matt Fraction Hawkeye vibe to it.
isen't matt fraction hawkeye very basic and simple design, and liefeld all weapons, pouches and extra extreme. Aren't they the polar opposite.
And now he lost the rights to it.
Rob Liefeld's new team comic is officially called Echo 92. Hopefully it will be released soon

It's sad that they're 'megaton' designs look a whole lot better than the actual Youngblood we got...
I don't get all the hate for Youngblood. I don't think the art is that bad (despite the poor anatomy and constant inability to draw eyes, aka "youngblood's disease.")
The story isn't that bad, it's just weighed down by too many characters.

Just think, Image went from cliche "EXTREME 90s" garbage like Youngblood to awesome comics like Invincible.
What about Spawn, Savage Dragon, and Wildc.a.t.s? Those were pretty good.
To me, Youngblood failed because they forgot to properly develop their characters and the guy making the comic just kept creating more and more.
Oh god where to start,
1. the fact Youngblood was mentioned in nearly every image comic, even ones where it wasn't necessary because Rob got it published first and therefore it was the core of the entire Imageverse, as oppose to Spawn or Savage Dragon you know those little image comics that were actually good.
2. the horrific suicide in issue #10 put in because Rob thought it was cool and liked it so much he signed it.
3. the bit in issue #7 that sent Linkara into a combine harvester meltdown.
4. the terrible art work.
5. the fact the characters were copy pastes with no personality other then snarling anger (except Badrock)
6. Rob trying to make a psychopathic, womanizing CIA mercenary who kills for sheer fun, into someone the kids are expected to idolize
7. the whole "Celebrity Superhero Team" idea in a nutshell, unless this was part Jason Wynn's evil plot to turn the world against superhero teams like the JLA or the Avengers it got real old, real quick.
9. the constant delays in the release schedule
10. the spin offs
11. Shaft pretty much being a self insert
12. Story Arcs being left incomplete
Too bad he sold the rights to YoungBlood
rob should give up. try something else
He's made millions off of this crap, why would he stop?
GreenGoblet22 cause it doesn't sell as it was before and after so many attempts to relaunch it, all of them get cancelled not even with 10 issues. I admire people never giving up, but this is just sad.

I will never understand Liefeld's fame. His art is a dumpster fire and his characters are the bagged cereal of the comics world. Generic ripoffs.
The 90s were all about "EXTREME!!!" and his style was exactly that. Now no one ever said it was any good...just very faddish.
he makes comics people are willing to buy. thats it. its the same reason that OTT action movies gross so many millions. theres a apparently large portion of the comic book buying audience that just wants mindless fun comics with explosions and blood and stuff. Surprisingly none of those people care that rob liefeld relies on his colorist for backgrounds or his guns look like pvc tubes. You already know that going in. at the end of the day, rob isnt out there to reinvent the wheel or put out comics with a message, he just wants to draw people getting shot, awkwardly hot babes and deadpool and his fanbase is cool with that
