We desperately needed a modern Utahraptor figure, and I’m so happy Safari delivered on this. It’ll look amazing next to my Deinonychus. Doug Watson in my opinion makes the best looking dromaeosaur figures.

I'm really glad this figure is coming out, been wanting a good Dromaeosaur figure for awhile.
Yeah there's BoTM, and those figures are great. But, Theropods are hard to pose and balance on the base imo.

Congrats on getting this beauty early. So very glad they made this one. I've lost count of how many years I've been wanting them to do it now. It's great there will some decent options for Utahraptor now, with this and the upcoming Cyberzoic/BotM figures. Also thanks for doing size comparisons with the other Safari Ltd dromaeosaurids. By the way, thought I would let you know Doug Watson said on the DTF the coloration was based on the peregrine falcon. Edit: Just saw someone else said already that, lol. Oh well.

I do like the colors, but like i dont see this thing being like a blue macaw. Anyway the figure overall is pretty dope, regardless of the strange T pose.

You just gave me an idea! I paint miniatures and do custom figures and I think it would be really easy to customize these safari ones to ones exact veiw of the animal. I think that would be so cool.

Great review! Greg! I have been desperately waiting years for an accurate up to date model of this genus and safari awesomely delivered, love the black and white feathering and the sculpt captures utahraptor perfectly. My only nit pick would be that the front of the bottom jaw is not fully covered like you see in modern depictions, covering up the front downwards teeth that would most likely be covered in life. He will pair nicely with my other Dromaeosaurid models such as my custom Papo feathered dakotaraptor and the safari deinonychus and velociraptor :)

Idk if an animal that large should be that brightly colored. Especially an ambush predator which it might have been unless its prey cannot perceive blue from vegetation.

I'm so glad they make feathered dinos, but I wish at least half of the theropod figures had their mouth closed. Those gaping mouths are.. Meh. Like roaring lion figures. One or two is fine, but all of them...

20 usd is too much...can't understand why this model has the same price of safari ltd giganotosaurus or camarasaurus... And quite the price of feathered t rex..i ll buy it only on sales, sculpt seems quite good and even colour scheme but painting is flat..not much shades..seems more a toy than a lifelike model..
