I remember hearing an interior designer say years ago - I think it was Nate Berkus - that if you have the room, try to not have everything in a room up against a wall like it's been arrested. Now you have room to stand and look out of your lounge room window - which is a lovely thing to take the time do.
Wow! I really love your design 'eye.' I didn't want this video to end. Your enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you for reminding me that the most inspiring beauty is created within constraints - in your case keeping to the reuse, recycle mantra. You are so refreshing in the world of buy new, your look is unique. Thank you. Laurie
I heard once, "rich people's sofa's don't touch the walls." I did a scan in my head, and yup, can confirm. (: It definitely look classier. I hope you can get a drafting table and tall chair/stool for your painting area so you can see out the window.
haha it's confirmed for me too ! and yes I do have a taller desk but might need to take the wheels of my stool because it rolls down the slanted floor 😄
Ooh, that gap behind the couch in your lounge room would be great for a ledge with plants growing on it! It would also make a great extra space for people sitting at the couch to put their drinks.
The nightmare that is painting anything red - I had an ex who wanted our dining room wall (huge room, 13 foot ceilings) painted red. As a romantic gesture I decided while she was away to paint it Poisianna Red (Wattyl, I think) which was a deep red with a black undertone and it took three very expensive tins of paint and about six coats. I learned much later about the benefits of grey undercoat for red paint, and other colours that tend towards patchiness. Your end result is great, and your relationship looks much happier than my red paint one! Love your little scraps of landscape painting and your studio redesign.
oh no I can so see how that would have felt like a never ending nightmare ! my exact thoughts were I'm glad this wasn't a whole room or wall! and yes my mum told me about the grey halfway through 😄
I love how the studio turned out. Especially the red door and the red accents everywhere 😍😍😍 And I also love how playful you were today! 😃🥰 Hugs from Sweden ❤️
Your living room is so cozy, and your teal vest made me think that a pop of that color in there would look awesome. But honestly I love what you're doing with this place.
I felt that "etcetera" in my bones 😂 I too have so many odds and ends like that as well. So happy to watch your update, everything is looking amazing! Loved the sponsorship as well, fun and cute!
I love seeing how all your ideas come together. Your studio looks very inspiring and the red door is fabulous. I was hoping you’d put a plant on the top shelf of the storage shelf unit! 🪴☺️
That red door looks so great, well worth 5 coats. Also the ad you did at the start was the best ad I’ve ever seen on RUclips. Very funny and totally on brand.
I'm absolutely loving your videos, Shaunna. You have such a beautiful, authentic sense of style and the pace you set with your projects and videos is such a welcome escape from the fast paced consumer world we've found ourselves in. Keep taking your time! Could I ask what camera you've been using to film? x
what a kind comment, I'm glad you feel that way. I'm using a Canon 7d. not as convenient as a vlogging camera and getting old now but I picked it up from cash convertors for $400 and it's still a really great camera.
Oh my God you are speaking my color language. Just luv this space! That paint chip board is GOALS! Can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the house.
Your studio space would have originally been an open porch, I think. That is why the floor slopes to prevent rainwater pooling on the boards. My kitchen is the same. All Our furniture has to be levelled.
Hi Shaunna. Loved the studio makeover. It looks absolutely gorgeous! The pops of red add so much more character to the studio. Loving the contrast. Simplicity and elegance. The fun little quirky segments in between were adorable 😊✨😍
Have you checked your depression glass pieces under UV light to see whether they’re uranium glass? They look promising. Certainly adds extra character! Only just found your channel and I’m already obsessed with your decorating style!
Looks really good! Good choice to paint the door! ❤ also watching you carrying the coffee table with everything on it explains why you break everything! 🙃
I love the colour in the kitchen. I'm in Australia so can I ask what colour it is? We're about to do our rental house's kitchen doors, including stripping them back to bare bones and fixing all the 1940s handles and locks. I know what you mean about renting. ❤
Your flower print is lovely but I’d love to purchase one of your landscapes… will you ever be offering a print of one of those ? I already have too many florals on my walls… it’s a problem. 😊
hey Naomi thankyou I am thinking of getting some made up... also will be making more art soon with definite prints I'll always keep everyone updated here! 💖
Hi! I absolutely adore your print and would love to have one. Are you only shipping in Australia? If so, do you know if you would ever expand to the U.S.?
not sure where your at but pretty sure it was 'prep coat 1 step oil based primer' by Dulux. that's what the old man at our home improvement store suggested. we found it really good because it kind of seeped and spread out really smoothing out any cracks. we used our vacuum nossle directly on the cracks as a kind of scraper.
there was really five? I don't control how many ad breaks RUclips puts on, but all I put here was my wild promotion and promoting my prints, which is how I make money so I can continue making RUclips videos :)

that's a lovely thought, it also makes the perfect little nook for the pet beds :)

I love your videos. Perfect to watch with my Saturday morning cup of tea. The studio looks great, love the red door.
Yay! Thank you!

thnaks lk ! yes I actually added a pillow in that color! somehow forgot to add it into the video. definitely need more color in there
what a beautiful home you've created for yourself!

this was so inspiring! been struggling with shelving ideas in our small, old house. Love how the door came out!
thanks! just be careful not to bang the door haha, things move ;)
Love your print Shaunna - but can't afford to buy right now - hopefully in the future I will! Love the red in your studio - it really makes it sing!
Oh, everything is so beautiful! The red is perfect. I love the pottery your brushes sit in.
Your studio space would have originally been an open porch, I think. That is why the floor slopes to prevent rainwater pooling on the boards. My kitchen is the same. All Our furniture has to be levelled.
yeh it definitely was a porch! but that's interesting I didn't think that they might have angled it intentionally!
The best channel. So glad you're here

Thanks so much! 😊
The red door looks lovely, like it was meant to be, the whole area is fresh and pretty. Good job!
the frog leap over the coffee table 👌🏼
congrts on your first sponsorship!
Your studio is so warm and inspiring; the red door is everything!! Please share name of color and manufacturer. Swoon!!
thankyou! pretty sure it was called hot embers by taubman, but I'm in Australia

thankyou! no I havnt yet!
Can you make it so your sit down talking audio plays in both ears? It's only in the left headphone and I only wear the right so it's a bummer haha.
Agreed, also this makes my skin "itch" because it feels "uneven" and I hate it lol
@@ayelaii I know EXACTLY what you mean haha
working on it! :)
@@shaunnarochelle Thanks love!
Lovely! Thanks for sharing
Put some plants behind the couch
Lovely results.
Looks really good! Good choice to paint the door! ❤ also watching you carrying the coffee table with everything on it explains why you break everything! 🙃
thanks sis. haha I took off the breakables
I feel like the color of the door should be called tomato paste
Love the red door!
You and your vibe remind me of this movie called This Beautiful Fantastic! 😍
I just looked it up looks like a really nice movie !
Love your style ❤
Beautiful ❤

I'll get it from the shed... if I forget msg me again !
@@shaunnarochellewe both forgot! I only just remembered... at 3.38am, as you do. 😅
So Vienna 😊

I would love to buy one too! I love the scraps. I don't have a floral problem but would happily have a landscape one.
Leave the mirror, but layer frames and/or mirrors. It looked great when I did it.
Hi! I absolutely adore your print and would love to have one. Are you only shipping in Australia? If so, do you know if you would ever expand to the U.S.?
Hi there, I'm shipping to the U.S. ! the link to my Spotify is in the description :)
Thank you so much for your quick reply! I’m going to shoot you a message on Instagram since I’m running into an error- maybe we can troubleshoot 😅
❤
Which sealant did you use for your kitchen? We need to do the same (hadn’t thought of sealing but seems way easier and safer than stripping it all)…
not sure where your at but pretty sure it was 'prep coat 1 step oil based primer' by Dulux. that's what the old man at our home improvement store suggested. we found it really good because it kind of seeped and spread out really smoothing out any cracks. we used our vacuum nossle directly on the cracks as a kind of scraper.
@@shaunnarochelle Thankyou! It looks so good.
your deodorant ad was hilarious
You should rotate your living room rug
I tried it, it has weird proportions :)
Hi! What’s that song playing at 4:32 , please?
Or smoked paprika
Est hope nobody slams that red door or those lovely framed paintings will come raining down.
there is sealant all around the door frame so it can't really slam :)
The amount of ads on this video is crazy, there have been 5x ad breaks now 😭
