As a physician who retired after 32 years of practice, I commend you on fulfilling your dreams while you could. What a beautiful tribute to your Mom! Your van is one of the most beautiful builds I have seen. And you did it yourself! Well-done!!! Best of luck and success to you in your adventures. The rest of us will follow along vicariously. Thank you! 😊
Amazing build out van and even more amazing you broke the mold and opted to do this early in life. I am a 67 year old nurse who is looking at my next option and van life is 1 of the options or liquidating everything and start traveling globe with my dog.
This is by far my absolute favorite van build. It's cute but the functionality to fit her personally is what I loved so much. She has 3 ways to charge her electrical system and she did it all herself. What impressed me the most was she wanted to build it by herself so she could fix it when things go wrong. Trust me things will go wrong but I would bet her freedom and peace of mind outweighs whatever might go wrong. Great video, I loved it.
Kacie - I really like you, you're well thought out and purposeful on your build. The colors are calming, everything feels gentle around you. May you find great joy on your journey. Your Mother would be proud.
I LOVE this van home! And I applaud her courage in choosing to travel NOW at this point in her life. I did my traveling (overseas) in my 20’s. I had friends & family who gave me grief about it at the time, but I had always dreamed it, so I did it. My last big venture was in 2010. And as you can’t plan everything, I’ve had health issues in the past few years, so now I am unable to do that kind of travel. Had I waited & traveled when OTHER PEOPLE told me I should, it would have ended up undone. So, I say to you, dear lady, GOOD FOR YOU! And you made a wise choice in your companion as well. 😸Happy travels to you!! ❤️🌹
I love her attitude. Fear is what pushed me to learn new things. Van builds weren't a thing when I was young and even at nearly 70, if I was healthy enough to do it, I'd be busy building one myself. As it is, it's difficult for me to find people to garden or work on the house in the country where I live, and it's all I can do when I'm a bit better to keep up with exterior painting and garden work. If you're young, and this appeals, go for it! Go for it no matter your age if you have the health to do so!
I’ve been watching you do hard things for years. I admire your bravery and stubbornness. So so happy you followed your heart on this adventure. Love you Kacie. ❤
Great interview and tour! The message she shared resonates, we really do not know how much quality time we have, and especially regarding burnout. I think that it is great that she has so much self reliance and built the van herself. The design and function seems to suit her well, and the blue cabinets and mural painting is quite nice! I am partial to blue! Thank you for sharing!
So sorry for the loss of your Mother. 😔 Thank you for sharing your story and a tour of your incredible, beautiful van/home. You did an amazingly job building it.😊
What a beautiful, refreshing van life story, made even more so by this exceptional lovely young woman. As a retired (52 yrs) nurse, I know of burn-out firsthand so this resonates with me - her wisdom is greatly admired. I lost my mother when I was in my late teens… that “mother-loss” is one of the greatest we face in the course of our life’s journey. What a nice, nice way to honor her place in Kacie’s heart (& take her along every mile she travels 💞). Sending just the best thoughts & wishes for safety and happiness….
Absolutely stunning. You are one gifted lady. Do all you can while you’re still young. You’ve done an amazing job on your van!!! One of the absolute best builds I’ve seen yet!!! All the best to you!
Out of a lot of van lifers, I don’t know why I felt you’re so genuine person and your story about your mother very touching, maybe because I lost my mother recently. But I will definitely follow your channel.❤ from Boise, Idaho
Wow. I've been watching van life related youtube videos for what seems like a decade, and I've never felt connected and inspired by anyone as much as I've felt watching you...besides the same principles, mindset and fellow burnt out medical person, your attitude towards life is so me..Thank you for being strong for us❤
This is how far I watched 3:15 before I started thinking what books I would keep if we (me and the husband) were starting a van life. (Is it a van life or just van life?) And it made it much clearer to me what books I actually love and need and which ones I could live without. So I decluttered my bookshelf. Which is a very hard thing for me to do as I have strong attachments to my possessions. So thank you very much for inspiring this, I am so glad and proud of what I have accomplished today as I left go of more than I ever thought I could. 🤗
After scrolling aimlessly I came upon this story made me cry over my dad, love your story and Maggie God bless your journey love your van build, like how you said it's not when it will get done it's how long it will take ❤❤ love your determination ❤❤❤
You are an Awesome woman! Kudos to you for all that you have created & enjoy your journey forward in your beautiful tiny home. Cheers to the happy life!
Beautiful build. My mother was also Margaret/'Margie'. I'm an artist/photographer & just before I lost her to "C" she surprised me for my birthday with a new Canon camera I had my eye on. I named my camera Margie. When I overcome some health issues, 🙏, Margie & I will Nomad together....safe travels to you & kitty!
Truly an amazing van life experience! A lot of virtues to learn from KACIE. God bless you always and keep you safe, healthy, and happy. God bless us all!
Our lives are ours to live regardless of what others expect of us. I truly understand about burnout and grief. You are choosing wisely to go ahead with your dreams. Thanks for letting us tag along.
What a wonderful build! Thank you for giving me hope! I LOVE THIS!!! You have surrounded yourself with peace...how fabulous! Continued blessings...sorry about the loss of your Mom. I'm sure she is looking down from Heaven & is VERY proud of you!
I like your idea of living life to the fullest and even during a time of grief you were able to work through that and take on a big challenge. I can relate because I lost my son over two years ago and with that time of such heartbreak and pain, I used my months of grieving to build a small room off of my tiny house so I could place a woodstove in there to heat my tiny house. Then I also built a camper on the back of my pick-up truck so that I could travel to jobs and have my own quarters to sleep in. My cabin on the back of my truck has a little woodstove so I can stay warm and I can make coffee and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. I’ve never built anything like that on my own. God made us creative, determined, skillful, and compassionate. I felt his quiet prompting each time I prayed about the steps of the build. . Thank you for sharing your story and your home.😊☕️🍁
This build is every bit as good as any professional build I've seen, and it is one of the most beautiful van homes I've ever seen. I like everything about it! Thanks for sharing this story and taking us on this wonderful tour! 🩵
Blessings to you! Your mother is carrying you through this earth journey. This just came to me to share with you - this is your therapy. When you are sitting in your van - you are being held by Mama Maggie. I hope this brings you comfort and a deep sense of peace. God Bless
"There isn't guaranteed a better day..." What a lovely being she is. I wish her well along the way. I have the feeling she will be fine both with her precious cat in the van but in everything she pursues in life.
What a wonderful tribute to your mother, Maggie. And also a lovely way to honour yourself and your life. I truly hope you find all the happiness and fulfilment in your life. Your self belief and determination really shows in the final result. You did an excellent job and should feel incredibly proud of yourself. I absolutely love the way the blue pops off the natural wood (the tone of stain your chose was spot on). Ps. I went to check out your insta and saw that you visited Laurel 😊 I'm a huuuuge Ben and Erin fan, love them so much! Love what they do, but also love a good HGTV show. Your interior design aesthetic, finish and colour palette is really beautiful, so either the HGTV shows rubbed off on you, or you should have your own show 😊 it really looks so cosy, comfortable, clean and bright without being too modern or rustic. It's the perfect balance. Wishing you all the best on your new journey and travels 😊
Lovely van interior! Good layout and quite spacious for a single person. I, too, cannot live without shower and toilet, good to see you managed to include them without having to take up big space. I especially like the cute gradient purple-blue color combo! And the brass accents too! Stay safe and healthy for you and your kitty! 💓💜💙
Very inspiring. Lots of great perspectives. I'm on this road, too… walking, for now… van sometime later (to really get me to more & farther out walking locations). You know your path when you find it… and there is nothing else.
Although your mom precipitated this van adventure taking this time off will help you grieve and evaluate those things that as you said are important . I did the same when I graduated HS. I took a year off before going to college. I'm sorry about your mom. Moms are greatly missed.
Hey, sorry for your loss bravo sorry for your loss 😢 but I am proud of you. I am Latina, mother and I see you like a daughter. Hooray, I like your video I like your personality treasure yourself. I am very proud. ❤
hi, Kacie, thank you so much for sharing about your mom, your wonderful thoughts, and how your cute lovely tiny home looks like. I am sure your mom would be(is) proud of you. You seem a person with a kind, caring character. Efi
Wow, what a beautiful van and what a wonderful job you did! It’s one of the nicer vans that I have seen. You’re very gifted. I hope your heart is healing after the loss of your mother. That’s a great loss for sure. I know she’d be very proud of her daughter. 💗💐
Your Mom would be so proud to see this chapter of your life. May her memory be a blessing and may you live with great happiness :) Your kitty is so adorable!
What a lovely home that you built for yourself. It's well crafted and organized. And "Maggie" is a great name for your van so that your mother's spirit imbues it as well as it feels that she's always with you. Thanks for sharing!
I'm really sorry for your loss dear. Sending you a big hug! Sometimes it's these events in our life that makes us understand the things that really matters. I'm sure your mom would have been super proud of you. You inspired me and many others ❤
I see what you have gone through in the past that made you choose your way of life! I understand how valuable that decision is also. We made kind of the same choice in the past when we faced the fact that even if you are young you never know how many days you have. Today we try to live every day with meaning, to let it be filled with something that makes us happy. Thank you for an inspiring video! I wish you many happy days on the road. 💞
I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom honey! Your unique adventure has her from above and all we other moms smiling! Question! How are you supporting yourself? A doc friend of mine does contracts then travels with her hubby(outdoor adventures I think is their OG and YT site)
She did an amazing job on the van, I am currently converting a cargo trailer to a camper and I can appreciate how much work it takes. It's been a slow project for me because it's hard to find the time to work on it while having a full time job and 3 kids.
What an incredible young woman. Such a beautiful home she has made for herself and her cat. A sweet way to honor her mom too.
Thank you so much! 🥹 These incredibly kind comments are making my day
Beautiful build. You're mother is proud of you and Maggie ❤🙏
Beautiful van build❤
What a beautiful story for an incredible woman and the van is beautiful your mum would be proud of you God bless you ❤️🙏🚌
My thoughts, exactly❤️
"There isn’t a guaranteed better day". That’s the most beautiful sentence I’ve heard this year. Wow.
❤ echoing this
As a physician who retired after 32 years of practice, I commend you on fulfilling your dreams while you could. What a beautiful tribute to your Mom! Your van is one of the most beautiful builds I have seen. And you did it yourself! Well-done!!!

Pozdrawiam Pana! czy myśli pan, że dla pana jest za póżno??? Nie!!!
Perfectly said! I’ve been dreaming of Van life for years but, now in my 60’s my (adult) kids tell me it’s too dangerous as I do not have a partner.
@@angelabay-jespersen6205 if not now when?
How sweet to honor your mother in that way... Maggie is your safe place...like a mother's soft hug... what a beautiful build...
And I must say this is one of the prettiest and most comfortable looking van builds I’ve ever seen. Congratulations!
I concur. Especially that she had no prior experience building one.
Agreed, I’ve seen a few with a similar layout and it’s one of two layouts I really would like for myself.
Awh this made me cry, what a heartfelt story. I love Maggie’s story 🚐 ✨

Losing a parent is really hard. I’m so sorry for your loss. Your van is really nice and congratulations.
🙏 your mom is proud and with you. God bless.

Wise woman. Courageous. A beautiful way to live and honor herself and her mother. ❤
Very nice considering this is her first diy project. Love the arches in the bedroom
At your age you have already achieved a significant goal in your life. I hope it brings you all the happiness you’re hoping for. Congratulations!
finally, a layout I could live with. Great idea to put the toilet on wheels, also.
I’ve been watching you do hard things for years. I admire your bravery and stubbornness. So so happy you followed your heart on this adventure.
Love you Kacie. ❤
Love you too! 🥰
Does she have a RUclips channel?

I love your RV, personality and take on reality.

I lived in a camper van when i traveled throughout NZ. It was the most fun thing i ever did.
Kiddo, you are smart! I did retire early at 58, but by then the damage was done. Live Now!
Gorgeous van build and super cool 🎉🎉🎉

Your van is awesome, and I love how you take your mom with you ❤❤❤❤
You should have shown the shower more. Where the water goes. How you keep the wood from getting mouldy, etc.
I have no doubt that Mama is along for the ride. You've made it beautiful, warm and inviting.

She did an amazing job on the van, I am currently converting a cargo trailer to a camper and I can appreciate how much work it takes. It's been a slow project for me because it's hard to find the time to work on it while having a full time job and 3 kids.
