- Got a text about a swamped jeep on Kane Creek. We got to the shop the next morning to load up and go after it when another group showed up to discuss their vehicle stuck on Kane Creek. There was alot of confusion on whether or not it was the same recovery. Once we all got on the same page we made a plan. We would go in from the top and get the first rig and get it up to the highway for the customer to come get. Then go back down the trail to the next vehicle and take it out the lower side and take it to the shop for the customer to come get. It was a long day but everything went fairly smooth. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Mater has had time to be perfected for his craft and rory knows exactly what that baby can and can't do..I think the biggest thing going for rory is no matter what he breaks on a trail he can fix on the trail. Hard to beat for sure
He's definitely got the home court advantage, but I'd like to see him take TM up to Wisconsin to Eric's neck of the woods.
I think Matt’s truck will be better but Rory is definitely the better operator

Rory is like Gandalf, a Wizard. He also has the most educated left foot in the business
He's so humble that many people focus on a single link of the chain we see. I think Rory's REAL talent is constructing many crazy links to form a chain that's greater than the sum of its links. I think he's well earned the deep trust his guys place in him.
He's made several extraordinary vehicles. Then he's assembled a somewhat unlikely team of guys with ever developing skills to use these vehicles to regularly pull off borderline impossible rescues, AND bring us along for the ride, while making the impossible look almost effortless! If you look back to the early days of the channel you can see how the camera work and production values have grown right along with the vehicles and crew. Thanks for posting the invaluable work you do!

Wow. You really can't tell how tall those cliffs are because there's nothing there to use for scale; but seeing that guy jump off the top and pull his chute makes you realize that it's WAY the hell up there! That's like 5x taller than I thought it was. (at the end of the video).

Yes Bushcraft. Don't change a thing...especially the authenticity which typically does start to change when a channel get's REALLY big. The more "professional" one get's, the more acting and staging of actions and dialogue or scripting start to creep into the videos and it sticks out like a sore thumb unless you have professional actors and directors and writers etc... Right now, your camera & audio work and post production are all Excellent. You authenticity is Excellent. The actual content....what you guys do is heads and shoulders above the competition regardless of the subscriber numbers. I like all the Utah recovery channels but this one, for me really is the best.
We've come to expect Rory to always be an amazing driver. However, Shaun is a great driver too. Smooooooth on the brakes and throttle. Nicely done on the Dodge.
I have been a student of 4wd vehicles for a lifetime. Until this channel came along I never really thought a heavy vehicle with leaf springs could be very capable. But since this channel I see a 1-ton wrecker with leaf springs, do almost all the things that 4 linked jeeps can do. I know a good deal of it is driver, picking lines, throttle control, and experience. Most jeep shops won't even consider anything but 50K in parts, 4 links, etc. as a capable rig. Thanks for the lesson.

Wow. Of all the recovery teams I've watched, Rory, Shawn and Mike are a sound and well oiled machine. They are the best of the best. I wonder how many people come home from moab and tell their friends the extreme trails theydrove over and then they see Rory and trail mader tow a vehicle up the same trail. I guess that would be a little deflating. Great video. Love watching them.

Outstanding job driving that power wagon out, the wrecker of course helped but you did a great job choosing your lines through those obstacles with FWD only to rely on! 👍👍 you guys make a great team.

All three of you guys can wheel, but I was really impressed with Shawn navigating that Power Wagon behind Rory and getting out of that mess. Well done, guys! Though I am not the idiot that questions your work or Monday morning quarterbacks each video, I do truly appreciate Rory explaining (idiotsplaining) techniques and why. I snowshoe to winter camping spots and ride old motorcycles and I still appreciate the professionalism you guys show. Trevor could learn balance from time with you guys but he's moved on.
Please continue to be safe and I'll enjoy the views of the terrain my old bikes can't get me to.

As much as I want to give Rory all the credit, I can't because that is all the team. Shawn some excellent driving in the vehicles being towed. Rory picking lines that make Shawn's line easier comes from years of practice. Mike some very good camera work showing just how hard the job is. The Trevor move at the end was kind of funny. Cool shot of the hang glider. Quite the view in your office. Thanks for sharing.

Good explanation on using hard shackles,to many people think soft shackles are the holy grail,liked the driving tip as well,like to see more of them,keep up the good work.

It is outrightly amazing to watch the skill set that Rory has in removing vehicles from the back country..... I am always amazed at how he manages to get vehicles out of the worst possible situations almost effortlessly.... Obviously Rory was born to do this work.... He is a natural... Doc....

@bubba4x499 No, nothing special here. I was just imagining going backwards down the obstacle in two-wheel drive. By going down in reverse my leading axel ( 'normally' my rear axle in 2WD) is pulling me and my normally front axel (now my rear one) would be disengaged as Rory recommended and the suspension could work it's magic. Next opportunity I will video it and tell you how it worked. 😉 If you get there first, let me know.
@CanyonRunner No need when I go down steep obstacles I go into neutral. No 4Lo gearing or engine pushing me forward and full braking power. Much easier if I need to I go into drive if needed then back into neutral.
@@Coolhansolo That is why I 'feather' both the clutch and the brakes in my 1993 Land Rover Defender 90 with a 200 TDI engine and 4-speed manual transmission (open diffs and no AC). The beast is heavy in the front because of the diesel engine. LOL! But "Giles" can still beat most any modern stock Jeep JLUR XR. Beginners rely on affordable and available technology; Pros rely on 'sticker' power from the parts suppliers and their acquired skills. . You know, a sticker equals ~~~ +/- horsepower. Old Timer skills seem to be summarily dismissed. LOL. Jeep won't award their Badges of Honor to a non-Jeep vehicle. Sad!; and it sucks!!! Beat them every time.
I am enjoying the crew getting more comfortable on camera and grabbing neat scenes with the camera along the way. Editing is improving also. Well played, Rory and crew.

Really enjoyed the commentary re: your equipment, straps, shackles and why you use them over other alternatives AND the comments on loosening the tow so the front wheels of the towed vehicle can help steer through some of the tight turn sections of the trail. It's nice to hear how you are thinking about some of the problem solving and then, as usual, seeing you execute the crazy (to me) maneuvers pulling yourself AND another vehicle over obstacles that seem impassable.

Rory's route knowledge and vehicle placement means he knows where every wheel is on the trail at all times. Optimum practice for some of the serious sections. Rory is a master of his environment.
Trail Mater is the toughest and will obviously be the rig to beat! The experience Rory has is the other half of the show. Awesome 👌

Great video! Great scenery. Job well done. I hope you can throw in some more drone footage. I don't think that people really understand how big and remote and desolate some of these areas are. If you break down for what ever reason, you are screwed, and there is rarely anyone nearby or anyone that CAN help you. Cell phones have changed everything and coverage is better all the time, but people need to be survival oriented if they venture out alone without the proper equipment. Rory can't be everywhere when you need him.
