Another amazing ride and repair and recovery for the Trailmater crew! We're "recovered SXS" folks who switched to a JK and understand how folks just want to "ride Moab" and don't even get maps or use OnX Offroad or the printed trail guides like the Fun Treks series, and oh, how much trouble you can get into, especially if you're using topographic maps or don't take the time to get out of the vehicle to read signs, check the trail ahead, or understand that some trails are out and backs that make those easy downhill steps into huge ledges on the return. I turned around on one trail that looked good on the National Geographic Moab Trail map, but other than a sign with a Jeep logo on it, you couldn't tell what kind of obstacles existed, so I walked the 1st line of stacked boulders in a v-notch wash, realized I had no cellphone coverage, we were by ourselves in a SXS with only 32" tires, and we're 70+ years old....turned around and tried another trail where survival was more guaranteed! 😁Thanks, Rory & Mike & Shawn for helping people not only survive the experience, but perhaps learn something and educate those watching for when they come visit!
