Is the game really hard? I never played it either. But it looks more fun than most games out of Switch. I have messed up controls on a Switch I got second hand. So I was hoping I could still play it. My controls always make my character walk left.

Vaibryn I think that frame chopping is used for cathartic effect. Gives the moves some weight. You can see this in their other games like Bayonetta on PC

@@alizaka1467 Nier Replicant, the modern remake of the first Nier. I started with Automata as well! Nothing else is like Yoko Taro's work with those two big Nier games, unless you want to look at the retro stuff he worked on, before Platinum and the later devs.

Bruh, this gameplay is absolutely AMAZING. The interactions between all the Legion abilities and the sync attacks are all beautiful to watch. Also, I noticed there's some kind of bar underneath the healthbar. Devil Trigger, maybe?

When Ultimate’s DLC is over and it gets a modding scene, a Joker skin would work strikingly well. Arsen -> Sword Legión, Dagger -> Baton, you have a gun in this game, etc.

Yeah, Astral chains combat really had a lot of depth to it.. Believe it or not the Chain Jump/pull/throw when fighting aerial baddies is so good in combat, you can practically stay in the air for quite a bit of length...unfortunately there’s not enough tough aerial foes to take advantage of that even in hardest difficulty.
As a dude who played this on casual basically button mashing with the sword legion, it's super crazy how different the game looks and plays on a higher difficulty
It seems whoever is playing has a strategy already. You can actually take some time to switch legions, since time slows down while you do it. But this player has it all well memorized so he does it quickly.
Its a sync attack after a spinning attack. Well, u just have to upgrade ur weapon before u can do the spinning attack and then the sync is easy to pull out. Hope ive been of some help, even though u post this comment 1 year ago

I've been playing the game, and you kinda get into this "zone." Like your mind is everywhere and nowhere on the screen at the same time. You're always thinking about binds and sync attacks and skills and jumps and all sorts of things while monitoring your health, legatus cooldown, and other enemies. It sounds harder than it is, and it's so fun.
Okay imma nerd out and explain, sorry if this is unwanted. Basically you control both the player character and a legion at the same time. It's pretty intuitive to play two characters at the same time because typically the legions abilities are auto targeting, but you have to activate them yourself. You have a lot of attacks called sync attacks where if your player does something and you activate a sync attack the legion will respond in kind. So if you do a 360 and attack you can activate a sync attack where your legion will spin or do aoe. Also, a lot of things like perfect dodges or calling your legion in right before an attack lands will slow down time. So the combat system really does make a lot of sense it's just that this guy has become a god
Sorry for the late reply but it's a 360 x-baton sync combo. You rotate the stick 360 degrees, then attack. You have to upgrade your x-baton a bit. Im sure you found this out in the three months since your comment was posted but I thought I'd share anyway.

I remember seeing this gameplay 4 years ago and being blown away by how complex it looked and how I paled in comparison After having S+ ranked all difficulties, getting S+ in 71 of Olive's cases, and having almost 220h in the game.. Watching this again, it rly isn't nearly as impressive once you know how the game works. In fact, this guy is a little sloppy

After beating the game I still couldn't believe the Switch could run the game so well on both handheld and dock mode.
