I really like your channel. Personally i really like kitbashing basically every single model for my armies, just having a big pile of legs, torsos, arms etc... picking together my marines like in buildabear. But this channel is just kinda a representation of a more vanilla army building style. You really show what can be done with that simple out-of-box style. And the editing and little cinematics in the intro are great!
Thanks man. I do a lot of subtle kit bashes throughout my armies. I never go too heavy with conversions and generally aim to try and make them so subtle that one would generally not notice. This is still a very new channel and im really still building the foundation right now and will later move to the less conventional units and builds.

There are a lot of them out there already which do "i made the craziest custom preator" and stuff. What id actually like to see more of would be rescuing old 40k stuff to put to use in the heresy. Maybe a video idea? I know box naughts are useable with legends rules for example, and forgeworld used to make beautiful mk4 ones for all major chapters and chaos legions.

Awesome! I have this kit in the mail. Going to do Iron Warriors squad with the big banner and a Sons of Horus counsel with the small banner holding the helmet.
The kit is really good for Iron Warriors. The parts themselves stylistically lend themselves to iron warriors and the inclusion of iron warriors transfers is a huge plus.
When I opened my kit and saw the two separate banners I was so stoked ngl. Between needing a legion herald for 4 different legions, a standard for a chieftain squad, and an actual command squad, I am going to get some mileage out of this kit. If only it had a few more of those Tigris bolt pistols...
You can get sooo much mileage out of this sprue and use it for a lot of different squads. We need that close combat sprue with more bolt pistols, combat arms and some of the other power weapons in plastic.

I am considering using it on Rubric Marines bodies for my Thousand Sons, as a kind of ornate MKIV legion-specific squad. Probably using MKIV backpacks and Achaean helmets to keep it grounded in 30k. i pre ordered this set from my local game store, Heretic Games and got them at release - i orderd a few alongside the characters from GW and they haven’t even shipped yet -
as a player who has been into warhammer since 2nd edition, i barely recognize 40k now. 30k still has so much of what brought me into the game in the first place.
@@rebellars60 the resin kit isnt bad. Ive probably done 40-50x of the old breachers. They have the pistol grips in the hands and you can paint the bolters and shields separate which will speed them up.
Great video - I appreciate your distinct style while painting, pretty conservative (mostly Citadel acrylics, no oils or enamels) but not exactly 'Eavy Metal, streamlinef and focused on efficiency without compromising on quality. I'm just starting my hobby journey with Iron Warriors and try to find what works for me so it's nice to see you work :D BTW you don't have any issues with glueing pistols/grenades after painting? No super glue creeping over the paintjob? They hold well without direct plastic to plastic contact?
thank you. no issue gluing over paint - i still seal the models after adding the grenades so it gives eveything a consistent sheen. i try and keep things as simple and efficient as possible. the process you commit to can be the difference between finishing an army or not.
I just use super glue. with the arms and feet being glued pre paint - the models are very sturdy and have no problem withstanding the use from regular gaming.

I have a bunch of those as well as mk4 that I want to use to make a traitor legion to fight against my Imperial Fists, but they look so bland and I don't know how to make them look different. Cheers!
MK6 works for any traitor legion out of the box. Just make sure you get some appropriate transfers and look at the color plates in the books. If you want something to counter the imperial fists, Sons of Horus are a pretty easy choice as their transfers come in all of the plastic kits and they are an iconic traitor legion. Alternatively, you could do something like Iron Warriors or Alpha Legion pretty easily. But regardless which legion you pick, Id do a mix of armor marks.

@@Nusphigoreall of that would work. the cataphractii are more on theme and common then the indomitous - if you haven’t ordered transfers yet, you can always get the Forge world mark 6 helmet upgrade kits. you can buy a single pack and use them as sergeant helmets to add a little more cthonian style and help the leaders stand out a bit more.
I use a mix i made myself that resembles the old Citadel Sand from back in the day - the closest off the shelf is a mix of Gale Force 9 Fine Grit and Medium grid. Use about 80% fine and 20% medium.
SOH Green is a dark green / blue. The more green tone comes from the Lupercal Green or Sybarite Green. Thats funny, hahaha. Back when I started it was only Chaos black, maybe my age is showing.
I use other brands as well but note taken. with the image, can chop citadel - but editorially, i have to hold on the shot of the pot long enough for recognition and some of the names are short
Hey man, love the videos but I hate the AI voice. If you're not confident in your own, do it anyway, as anything would be better than the AI gen stuff.
AI speeds the production process up. Voice can be a bit hit or miss. Some people love the AI voice (especially non native eng speakers) and some people cant stand it. I try to make 2x-3x painting videos a week and if I had to record / mix / do performance takes for my own voice, it would probably drop to 1x. Real voices will be in bat reps and other live action content.

i’ve done tons of drop pods. assembling them is usually the biggest pain. doing to do some crashed pods soon as part of a terrain video

i kit bashed the forge world IF praetor and the plastic Fafnir Rann body to bring the models scale up to the new plastics
