  • Today I tested the difference between the tensor stock bushings and bones bushings. I was pleasantly surprised. Also got a fun session in on the bleachers. Hope you enjoy the edit! #skateboarding #tensor #vs

    tensor bushings are awesome. on the bigger trucks they need a firmer bushing. tensor needs some 9" or 8.75" mag lights for my big boys!

    I fit my 8.25 ATGs on a board a wee while ago. Took out the Bones bushings that were still in them and fitted the original bushings.
    I’ve got to say it wasn’t as bad as I remember with neither turning nor clicking and the pop I’m getting is good. Still wished I had gotten the 8.5s though.

      The light big board feels so good. Honestly dosen't feel crazy light. Easy to throw around and more board to land on with my crazy big feet. Haha.

      @@KevinNiceTry I have been scouting around for 8.5s trying to find a good deal.
      What I like is that the Tensors are as high as they are at the weight they’re at. You can still put some bigger wheels on there if you feel the weight is too low.
      Be sure to let us know the wear and tear on your trucks. Never really found a proper review on them for those aspects.
      Also how they wear in that Buffalo weather.

      @@KevinNiceTry getting $4,700 back in taxes I decided I could afford to get the 8.5" axle Tensors. The store I bought them from had them down as weighing 261g which I found strange given that the 8.25" ones I have weighed in at 270 so I didn't trust that number. I weighed mine when I got them and they were 300g each. Which I also found strange. It's hard to find info on what they are supposed to weigh but on Tactics they are down as being 276g. I can understand measurements being off by a couple of grams either because of construction or because of the scales used but that mine are off by around 25g seems a bit much. You didn't happen to weigh yours did you? I'd wonder if Tensor have changed the blend of materials or construction to reinforce the 8.5 truck.
      Anyways even at 300g it's some light stuff. Next board I set up these are going on.

    • @KevinNiceTry
      @KevinNiceTry  2 года назад +1

      Wow that's awesome. No, unfortunately I didn't weigh them. I'm not sure Tensors marketing department is pretty terrible. So I'm not surprised the information is all over the place. Congrats on the big return and I hope they work out for you. Cheers.

    i usually skate stock bushings but with the bushings that came with my tensor maglights low, really a messed! the bottom part of the bushings were not cut straight. its a factory defect. hence, the trucks always get stuck on one side.
    i replaced it with bones soft bushings and love it. i tried medium on it and it’s not turning at all given that it is a low trucks

    • @KevinNiceTry

      Mine are the ATG. They are the new geometry and are a high truck. I've never had the lows. Wasn't a fan of lows after I tried the ventures.

    I bought the mag lo Mullen ones , they have a totally different feel, my board is a 8" an 14" WB , it's definitely something I'm not used to but I still want to try it, even though they are low (46mm?) I don't get significant wheel bite with 53 mm nano cubic wheels

      About 2 weeks, and I don't miss my Indy's, they are perfect for my style of skating, they don't perform well in transition or bowl but I can still skate those two if I wanted to, I've had the best grinding experience with these tensor lo trucks I actually enjoyed grinding, unlike Indy's in always worried about wax, speed, pressure, etc. With these I just go and it goes

    • @KevinNiceTry
      @KevinNiceTry  2 года назад +2

      Yeah they need to get rid of the hollow axel. Would make them less likely to bend and they could do a bigger size. If they have a future lol. The marketing department is uh, non existent. Haha.

    I'm absolutely happy with the stock bushings on my 5.5 ATG MagLights as well! Love the way they turn and carve. Tensors are my recommendation for sure. Especially for older, heavy legs (like mine). Just ordered a set of 5.25 ATG MagLights on special offer for 60€ today for a 7.75" setup. As soon as I can get hold of a set of 5.75s on offer I'll get them for my 8.5" setup, too! Regular retail price here is 85-89€ for a set.

      @@KevinNiceTry They are worth it for sure! But they actually aren't so expensive compared to Indys or Venture in their light versions. Independent Titaniums 65€ and Venture V-Hollow Lights 48€ for one truck! That makes Tensors reasonably priced for what you get 😉
      Glad you like your current setup. One can tell it works great for you 🙂

    Tensor stock is the best for tensor. The interlocking bushing at 90a is what makes the tensor hood. The geometry of the trucks are designed to carve but they’re stable because where the turning is happening it’s cushioned and has rebound so you shoot straight back up when you want. No other bushing works in that truck. It messes up the geometry. If you don’t like looser trucks, definitely not the ones for you.
