I have skated the black maglights for about 5 months. I can confirm they grind very nicely and have problems turning without learning right into the turns. Also, I would like to add the fact of skating with less effort. I could pop the board higher without popping as hard. Also, when the board goes into my shin on a tre flip, it doesn't hurt as much with it being lighter. What I did not expect to happen was the kingpin snapping on a FS pop shuv, it snapped clean off and sent me flying. Luckily, it was only on flat. However, I'm willing to keep skating these trucks because of the benefits of light trucks. I have ordered some thunder hollow kingpins to replace it and get back to skating. A better pair of trucks to get it probably the thunder titanium hollows, they are slightly heavier but more durable and responsive with the turn. Extra info: The previous trucks I skated where Silver trucks, fully solid and heavy trucks.

fuck the kingpin! mine snapped today on a nollie back 180 fucking tensors ruined my day as i paid £10 for taxi to train station and paid £24 on the train return from Cov to MK and within hour skating busby kingpin fucks up. great fucking day. there was a guy that had a spare kingpin but i couldnt get mine out for shit unless i had a hammer. 2 times ive gone MK now for the day and something fucking breaks. last time it was my wheel nut, it kept coming off and no thread on it and i didnt have a threading tool. one time i bought bronson G3s Jaws and within a month i did a 180 over a flat bar rail and one bearing exploded. i did take shields off mind u. but i have also had bones swiss and let them get rusty and not take care of them so i bought some bones super reds and i have shields off them and they are still sick as fuck many months later. bones for bearings anyday. Legit bearing company. not just a fucking name.

Hi there. What truck size you’re running on? Are those Lo or regulars? Im just a middle aged 5.6” guy who just started skating. Currently using 8.25 borad with thunder 148 hollow lights and i feel its super heavy! Shud i run smaller 8.0 board with 5.25 mag light lo? Or stick to 8.25 with 5.5 mag light reg? The whole Tensors don't really turn thing doesn't sound right to me at all though (I have two of my skateboards setup with them). I think it takes ever so slightly more lean if you do not run standard bushings or run super tight trucks, but I don't even think that's particularly accurate either. The real difference is insanely small. I've compared Thunder 148 Hollow Light to Tensor Mag Lights directly and at medium bushing tightness they turn pretty much the exact same really. I actually think my Venture Hi V-Lights turn more poorly. And even those start to turn a lot better when the bushings loosen up after skating them for a while. It makes sense too, because the kingpin angle is not dramatically different and other specific details tend to offset differences too (ie. shortening or extending wheelbase due to truck design which affects turning too). Honestly, I wouldn't want to ride Everslick decks or really any other 'heavy' deck with any other trucks but the Tensor Mag Light TENs. They're a perfect match. People who consider any deck setup with Tensor Mag Lights 'too light' are of course entitled to their own opinion, but in reality they also refuse to see the other benefits or the ability to ride heavier decks. I do think they flip nicer than heavier trucks. And I don't think it's necessarily less controlled at all, as is a common statement on Tensors that are sometimes deemed too lightweight. Does a heavier board that rotates slower provide you with 'more control' over it? Nope. I'd say the exact opposite. And getting used to underrotation or overrotation surely goes both ways. In many ways it's not different from adjusting to a steep nose and tail setup coming from something very flat. Yeah of course your timing needs some adjusting.

Oh ! I just bought the mag light lo Mullen 5.25 on a 8" 14 WB board .... It's a whole different animal! My current board is Indy's 144 forged hollow 8.6" 14.25 WB and ok on the same board I've tried krux dlk, I got used to the krux.... I can't get used to the tensor yet what trips me a lot is the turning ! Best Mag Light review I’ve seen. I bought the ATGs for an 8.25” board last summer and I absolutely disliked them for all the reasons you stated as cons. But also those stock bushings annoyed the hell out of me with clicking sounds when turning and they would also often stick the truck in an awkward position when landing a trick off balance.
My Mag Lights are now sitting on a shelf. Might put them on again at some point but I’ve been considering selling them instead to be honest.

Misconception: higher concave boards don't flip better. Most pros that do technical flips and such prefer flatter boards. It gives you way more control over your flick. High concave just keeps the board more hooked to your foot, It's good for wide boards and transition. For narrower boards that you'd use for tech stuff no, absolutely. Spare your feet and brain the pain..
