Seriously the best part of this video was watching you spray down the rental machine! That speaks volumes of the mindset and care for someone else's equipment. Whenever you rent or borrow someone's tools or equipment, you always bring it back either the way it was or better! Extremely proud to see you having the respect to take care of something that wasn't your's but treating it as if it was! BIG POINTS in my book!
Fast forward 2 years and the boys are using Kubota for a totally different reason...they followed their dream...now its a reality...total admiration for them both.☺
all of these people are complaining, but is the building still standing? no. did it damage any neighboring buildings? no. so what’s the big deal? first time or not the job was finished
Here the big deal. -The guy is destroying the excavator by swinging it sideways, will eventually cost them a bunch of time and money to split the machine and fix the swing gear -they did not protect that old tree but tramped the root system -they collapsed the chimney on the trash which means they are paying to throw bricks in the tonnage - you dont need a skid steer at all all on that job it is just making a mess - the excavator is too small they needed one twice the size -you dont pack a container with a fixed thumb like that you actually can twist it off like that Im sure if i watched it again id find more wrong
There was an old, run-down, house in our village, and people complained about it constantly. A contract was put to tender for the demolition, and people complained regarding who got the contract to tear it down. Over a two day period it took to tear the house down and haul away the rubble, people complained about the noise and dust. Now, the lot is completely restored and put up for sale, pending a zoning change from residential to commercial, because it's on a business street, and guess what....people are complaining. Some people just like to complain.
forget all the people giving you a hard time. yes the trailer is over loaded with the excavator and the skid steer on there. but keep going. your going to make mistakes. that's the best way to learn.
I use a grapple bucket on my Skidsteer for demo jobs like this. I don't have a mini-ex... You should buy/ rent one next time, especially if you own the skider already :) Also, swinging the mini-ex boom sideways into stuff isn't the best for it... push/ pull on stuff instead...
Nice job keep up the hard work! You will be into a bigger machine soon! Gotta start somewhere! I can’t wait to watch one of your videos with a big 30,000 pound excavator
I use a Cat 963 with a 4 in one demo bucket. After I tear it all down, I push The debris into a pile and shredded up with the tracks of the dozer into small pieces then I load into a dumpster or a dump truck and haul it away. It really depends on your budget.
Not here to bash anyone on how they do there job. Good job on that demo. It only takes about an 8 hour shift to get better on operating a excavator. [Tip] smash it up as small as possible and crawl on top of the pile and load your boxed like that to keep from crawling so far.
Best part of the video was seeing the Dodge Cummins at the end. By the way, you guys are rookies. Always spray water on the material to prevent fires from starting. Use a larger excavator also lol.
Bro use a 360 grab it will save you hrs of work and it’s a great tool for light buildings like these you will be amazed how useful the grabs are after time 👍 keep up the good work fella
Where tf do you live? I live in Illinois I’ve operated for 8 years everything from a 4000lbs excavator to a 40,000 lbs excavator and never needed a license. The one they were using is probly 8,000 lbs
My favorite part was when you were like: "Abatement? I don't see any asbestos siding. What are you talking about bro?" OK. You didn't say it, but you were thinking it. ;-)
The next time you use an excavator curled the bucket up then press down into the dumpster with it. Also if your other excavator had claws you could grab bigger chunks? I think somebody's videogame playing help them run those excavators. Looks like you had fun and wish I could have joined you : )
So im new to the industry I took on a job like this. To tell you the truth. It scares the shit out of me. So anyway I watched your video and it answered my questions I was so afraid I was going to rent to small equipment but now I know. Thank you
I did my first demo about a year ago and even I knew better than this. Man I gotta move to the South. I bet you those guys priced that job twice as much as I would here in Oregon and I would have done the whole thing by myself! Would have saved that home owner a ton of $ and still made a hefty profit.
9k for each piece of equipment is probably a bit on the light side, so 18k+ on a trailer designed for less than half that. Talk about unsafe on the road.
please keep your guys backed away from the machinery while working it man. that’s so dangerous. to many blind spots especially for a new operator too. ive seen multiple guys get hurt because of negligence & not paying attention. im not bashing you just saying be safe than sorry lol
This is exactly why you should never buy a rental machine after its rental life! Lot of people without experience and using the machines improperly, putting excessive premature wear on the bucket/arm pins. Not to mention the side swinging to knock down the wall and chimney, more wear and tear on the slew motor.
You know it's stuff like this that makes me glad my first demo sketched me out enough to not do more. Was in Louisiana demoing some chock roach infested hell hole and the contractor didn't give us any respirators, no safety equipment at all, meanwhile he's doing coke all day. House was probably 100 years old and full of asbestos, all of us woke up with sore lungs. What a disaster.
I can't see what state or city this demo took place but first things I notice side shingle (Asbestos) part of the roof was also Asbesto. Big contamination
Bigger machine push material in to a pile crush wood etc with tracks of heavy machine. No sheet rock makes for easy demo. Not bad for first attempt you figure it out
I’m planning on gettin Into some demo work in the spring.. how did you quote a job like this? And roughly what’s an estimate on a job this size? Nice job!
We sub contracted this job. The homeowner pulled all the permits and took care of the trash cans. We charged a flat fee of $5000 for the demolition but we had to rent the mini excavator for around $350. Took us about a day and a half.
the biggest cost was probably the dumpsters, unless they got a deal...normally its like $400 per dumpster....they used 6......minimum cost $3500 plus $1200 labor
If you buy your own excavator, never swing the machine sideways to move or knockdown anything, you'll end of having to replace the large pinion gear that rotates the machine and the swing motor. On a large excavator that's a major repair that involves taking most of the machine apart.

That's how we learn just get and do it. Don't let the haters get you down they are just mad at the world and everthing in it.
Good job brother. You might want to opt for the grapple attachment for that skid steer. You can fill a 30 yd container very quickly.
On the road to 1 million subscribers. The success is well-deserved, guys!
damn you're right lol
You boys have come a long way with your video skills and personality.
I think that it was a good job for First Timers. Keep up the good work and you will learn from your mistakes..

Out there getting it done good on you guys keep up the work👍
You guys just tore into it and had a bit of fun i bet.
Jason Moyle Yea lol
Did you guys ending up selling the house you renovated?
Got to get a SLV with a grapple, thats a real time saver for initial cleanup.
That’s awesome you should do some more house rebuilds too! 😁

spray'n water s to keep dust down!!!

I work in construction. You guys did an alright job.
You should do a video with that truck hauling

Can't knock you for getting the job, but next time get a bigger excavator. It would save you time.

Man I would love to do this for a living, need a grapple attachment on the skid steer and it would of went a lot faster!
So this is what you did before rebuilding cars.

He was very right about it being his first time using a mini lol still got it done tho
You should check out the demo dozer bucket for your skid steer

How much do you charge per square ft? Did you have to call the city for a permit? I’m 2 weeks shy of my first demo job.

Question. Was this still a profitable demo having to rent all your equipment? Seems like considering average sqft for demo is $3.
the biggest cost was probably the dumpsters, unless they got a deal...normally its like $400 per dumpster....they used 6......minimum cost $3500 plus $1200 labor
