Nice work. We started with 1 truck back in 1980, and after 42 years we have over 400 employees and operate over 160 trucks every day with hundreds of thousands of customers. It starts with 1 truck and a hard work ethic and you’ll be successful in no time.
Wow! Congratulations on your success! Thank you for the motivating comment! John definitely appreciates this as he looks to grow & scale in the future!
Thank you very much! Congrats to you and your company. That is extremely encouraging to hear. I will be sure to look back on these kind words for motivation in the future.
Yea 1980 now a lot of people doing the same, with the internet that make you easier to make business.diferent times bro now is hard.

I love hearing stories of people that created a small business and built it into a success. Best of luck moving forward.
Thanks a lot! I appreciate the support.
@@hahadumpstersllc7782could you give some pointers as to how you get customers and or what methods you use to get clients and or leads??
Even though this guy didn’t buy this with his own money, this guy is putting in work to run the company. If you had money to give your child to start a business so they can be successful, Im sure you would help in some way financially. On a side note, this guy moves and talks like a 40yr man 😂 Keep it up bro, you have potential to build a life for your future👍🏼

Most every company I know of. Was started with someone else's money. Getting a loan doesn't make it your money. It just makes it your responsibility to pay it back. Just like if you're going to borrow the money from a family member.

This is a very impressive young man. He has the energy of an old soul. Love his work ethic - and that "better safe than sorry" comment sounded like sweet music coming out of the mouth of a 21 year old!

What ever happened to the concept of admiration? This young man is an inspiration.

I started in the Rolloff business when i was about 38 yrs old , worked it for 20 years , it was very good to Me. Wished i started at your age. @@matthewbinzer9648 with that sad your business successfully takes off with dads help. Grow up and get with reality rich boy
@@matthewbinzer9648 What the mindset that its a lot easier to start a business if your family is already rich? That is just reality. Money begets money in this world and starting out with a sizable "loan" from dad is a massive advantage. I'm not really knocking it I cant blame someone for having wealthy parents but if two guys have a net worth of 2 million and one started with 0 and the other started with free money from dad im going to have more respect for what Mr. Zero accomplished, because he did it all on his own.
Nice work. But this is more of a day in the life working “in” a dumpster business. You should do another vid explaining your comeup how you acquired your setup funding monthly overhead how much did you make in the vid for the day??? We need the business side the meat n potatoes! 👍🏼👊🏼nice hustle bro
use to do this when I was younger, its lucrative if you can muscle your way. Its very expensive and margins are low....competition fierce. usually you need resis to carry your container business because when a depression or recession hits it goes to zero basically and you are stuck with loans! Grind hard my man, trash never sleeps.
I appreciate the words of advice, thanks!
Awesome and good for him. Just wish they would have talked a little more about how he got started.
How about make a video on how you made your first dollar from the very start. I’m 21 years old and started my business from complete scratch no loans , no mommy /daddy start ups . It’s not too convincing that you take credit for 200k+ in equipment and not explain that you were lucky enough to have someone get the wheels rolling for you. Cause again at 21 with my own legal business since I was 18 I know how truly hard it is to get to this degree (On your own) .

Definitely a great option you can choose to go with!
Good for you kid good job. Take my advice the only investment you have to make in dumpsters are 20 yarders don't waste your time with tens and 15s that way you never have to worry about being precise on a swap out just tell your customer what to put in it if they put more you charge more when you go to pick it up.
Thanks for the great info! John definitely appreciate it as he looks to expand HaHa Dumpsters!
We really appreciate the advice!
im looking to start this business from scratch here in Canada..trying to get all the information..I need a Bin manufacturer if anyone out there sees this! congrats to this guy on here he got all kinds of bins lol I gotta manifest one at a time i guess!
I work for a roll off dumpster company, the owner started like you, one truck 10 cans, now have 55 trucks 5,000 cans. A few suggestions, get rid of the auto tarpers, you will be fine with it. But when you hire drivers, will become a high maintenance item, also as you know, tight squeeze sometimes. Run sealer in your tires, you'll get a lot of nails in the landfill. We've tried a lot of hook lift brands. Now go with Palfinger
Hand tarp
Hi James! Thank you for the advice! John will definitely appreciate having this info moving forward as he continues to expand his business!

@@tom-riseupmedia now that's a knuckle boom. I've been turning wrenches and running shops for a little over 40 years, 15 with the roll offs, if he has any questions, let me know
Any particular tire sealant you would recommend for this truck?
Jack the axle up, remove valve core, let most of the air out, pump sealer in put core back in, air the tire back up
I started at 18 myself with 5 cans 6 years later i have 55 cans all out and most on permanent business locations

'Most' 21 yr olds can't do anything except dream of this. A guesstimate regarding this equipment cost .. $500,000. +/-
It's important to work from 15 or 16 and save most all of your earnings and use it toward a deposit on business equipment and land rental/purchase. Then have knowledge of the business you will operate AND have great marketing skills or a known customer base in place.
Best of luck to ya! 😎🇺🇸

Such a nice setup
Bro you don’t have to get back there and pick up trash just shake the dumpster by sliding it up & down or roll up and back up and stop hard but not to hard 100% works😄
Good job for the work you put in but you have to put planks when you lay the containers onto the driveways to not damage them - I sued the company for damage and the ruling was in my favor.
Thanks for the tip! John Will appreciate this info moving forward with his business
We appreciate the advice!
Get a pup trailer. It will allow you to do twice the work and burn 1/2 the fuel. I had 4 hooks and 100 boxes.
Definitely something to look into. Thanks for the advice!
Another cool thing I used to do is sleeve containers together and if we had three or four drops one truck could drop three boxes all in one shot kind of like nesting them that always worked really good. A spread axle pup is the way to go. Really easy to connect and disconnect.
@@MrTomkaeding I will plan on looking into all of that. Thanks for the advice!

No dirty 30's? As someone who dose construction the 30 yarder is by far our favorite. But i like it keep up the good work. Also in NY everyone has to tarp They're loads. Dont know what your DOT officers are like but over here no tarp is a instant $500 fine.
John is working to scale HaHa Dumpsters. Stay tuned and see the business grow!
Thanks for the insight, stay tuned!
Perhaps sub-30s are a neglected market.. hence a small operator can chisel thier way in.
Looks easy doesn't it? Well, the work isn't bad, if that was all you had to worry about then everyone would do it. If you are considering a business in transportation you need to face these facts:
1) CDL. You need one over 26.5k lbs gvwr. DOT number. You need one over 10k lbs gvwr.
2) Health cert. You need one if you drive a commercial vehicle.
3) Insurance. It's a HUGE expense, the biggest expense you will have to outrun every month. The cost doesn't change according to how little or how much you do, it's an 800lb gorilla on your back at all time. So you better hustle.
4) Equipment cost. He has all new nice stuff so his efficiency is great. Buy used and you will be chasing down hydro leaks, mechanical breakdowns, LOTS of flat tires, welding and painting cans, missing/stolen cans, and stuff you would never ever imagine. It costs you in repairs, and it costs you in work lost.
5) Scaling up. If you want to grow the size of the business, you will have to hire drivers. Drivers tear your shit up like you actually hired them to do that instead of swapping cans.
In the end guys, it's a "money in vs money out" game, with a whole lot of stuff that stops you from getting the actual work done. I worked for a company for a year before starting my own so that I would be eyes wide open, and man that really helped. Just make sure they don't make you sign a no-compete.
I started at 22 in excavation business with 5000 down payment 38 years ago. Question is did bank finance him or did a rich grandfather do it. If it came from family, sorry bud your not self made.

The only down fall of a non tandem hooklift. Lack of power, and capacity. The heaviest dumpster I've done to-date was a 20 yarder form a windshield shop. 15 fuckin tons. Watch out for the larger companies. Some will go to great lengths to erase the smaller ones. There is one in my state buying up all who will sell and pretty much destroying who won't.
