We are considering getting our own "concrete" dumpster. What's the average tonage you see in yours? Concern is that at 5 CY that could be 7.5 tons which might strain my truck. We have a Chevy 6600 similar to yours. We also have the palfinger lift as well.

Man I am a contractor and I cant tell you how many times I have seen the dumpster truck with the front axle in the air because of over loaded dumpster ! When the dumpster guy brings a 30 yard container and says if your putting brick and concrete in it , it can only be half full ! Then 5:30 the next morning he’s there and the dumpster is crowned with debris and he can’t pick it ! Thats why I bought a dump truck and only let my guys load it !

No discounts ever! When I go to multiple concerts or book multiple flights for my family they don't give me a discount. I refer to that as "Death by Discount." Your customers will continue to ask for discounts as long as you keep giving them. My business model is built on customers paying full price and not discounts. Great question Alex.... I see this asked too frequently on FB groups and I feel there's a lot of misleading advice being thrown around.

When you do Concrete or sod and dirt is no charge for the dump so the dumpster is more to rent for a customer?

    • @samedaydumpster

No... just because I dump their dirt, sod or concrete for no charge doesn't mean they don't get charged. In my market those are some of the best rentals out here. I price my services and rental based off of the value I provide... not based off my costs. There's a big difference.
