No matter how many times I have listened to the song, it still gives me multiple "Floorgasms" and tears running down my cheeks! I am 66 years old, and Nightwish is the only Metal band that can bring tears to my eyes!
They played this when I saw them in 22 but they did not have all the music and spoken words at the end. They closed out be Floor and the band comoimg out and did the last part of Ad Astra. As soon as it was over I got back to my car and as I am waiting for the line of cars to get out, I wept like a baby. I am a 51 YO Male and I cried. Irt was just so magical. I am a 48 year old man that only discovered NW in 2019. As someone who grew up fairly unemotional, and who currently lives in the North of England, I get it! This song literally makes me weep every time I see it on RUclips. (any version!) As an atheist I think it feels like what church can be to religious believers.
Absolutely. I am a bit scared of calling this "religion", because it might upset some people. But in reality it is a sort of religion that hits bullseye in my own opinion. Should we be grateful for being alive? Yes we should. Should we be careful for each other and the world we are living our lives in? Yes, we should. It is a universal lesson and warning, like a religion. I am 68 years old, and will never be able to listen to this without crying. I was there at this show. Greatest Show was and is my favourite song, and I'd read an interview with Tuomas earlier that year where he said they were unlikely to ever play this in its entirety live. So when the opening notes started at their first Wembley show later that year, I nearly felt my soul leave my body. It was such an experience. yeah thanks for taking the time to share your reaction there is so much on this video that it takes a couple of watches to digest everything but it was a pleasure watching you watch the video thank you
Nightwish has been one of my fav bands for over 20 years now and this song is a major reason why that is, they are second to none and using music to tell epic stories! This is one of the few bands ever that sounds best live as opposed to studio. Nightwish is a band you don't just listen to, you experience them! They are my top bucket list bands I need to see just once in my life! I love your Star Wars references as well with your kitty cat lol. The force is strong with you!
When you re-watch it again by yourself, try the version from Tampere. It has some special uniqueness that will enhance the awe factor even more! And, speaking of awe, "Awwwww, Luna is so cute. Give her an extra big nose-boop kiss from this fan!"
Oh yes, if possible do react to it as well! The sound isn't quite as good but the visuals are even better, the arrangement's a little different, and also as you said you can't take it all in with one listen. Anyway, great reaction again, to my favourite NW longform work.
Hi Lady, First time here for me, and Girl You Rock Girl, My Wife and I, had the greatest of pleasure of being there for the whole of this show, 8 rows from the front, and Centre stage, and it will live with us forever, and we have seen Nightwish Live all over Europe and The UK 26 times, To Date, Including Waken 2013, Thank You, We Loved your review. And it was so heart felt and real. We can both see just how much you love this Band.
In my opinion the greatest composition of my lifetime, displacing "Gates of Delirium" by Yes. I find it interesting both are about 20 minutes long and while one is based on war and peace, the other is based on the evolution of life on our planet. Both are massive undertakings, and handled brilliantly. So glad that you finally got to his masterpiece for the ages. When you asked "Is she even human?" The answer is no, at that moment she was Gaea, calling life to awaken! (I typed this before you said it! hahaha). It was Bach's Minuet in G (see Lover's Concerto for a pop adaption). Welcome to Luna, a worthy successor for our buddy, Bruno. Much love to all of you.
I've watched this performance and reactions to it hundreds of times... Dom, I have to say, I've never seen anyone understand and appreciate this masterpiece on the level that you did particularly on their first viewing. Your observations were spot on and shows a high level of intelligence on your part that shines through. Keep doing what you are doing and thank you.
I think the fact I have a degree in history and social anthropology and have Dawkins book on audiobook means that I was able to understand a lot of this also having the lyrics turned on really helped
Now go and watch the Tampere show so you can get the experience how a live show should be made. I personally like that version way more than this because a song like this NEEDS a major stage performance and fireworks! And a camera crew who knows their job. ;) This is good mostly because the sound is a bit better and that mr Dawkings shows up at the end. As an armature I don't notice the difference in the sound that much but I know what a great show looks like! 🙃
People keep recommending that version of this song and I wonder would it be okay for me to react to the same song in a different different performance so soon?
@@themetalmuse There are a lot of other fun videos so you would probably have a lot to watch anyway, but do watch it someday! :D I'm sure you will love it too! 😃
If you haven't heard Floor with the other bands she was in before Nightwish, you should check her out with her first band, After Forever, which she joined when she was 16. She later formed her own band called Revamp. Both bands have some great tunes.
'Floor summoning life into existence' is probably THE single best summary of that piece of music I have ever heard. I had to pleasure oof seeing this life 5 times by now aand it's noothing but shivers down yoour spine for 20min straaight EVERY DAMN TIME.
Hi Dom, Great reaction as ever. Yeah, this is one of the bangers from Nightwish. As you guessed it, it is the evolution of earth put in 22 minutes. The part with the harpsichord is actual the evolution of music, you hear different music genres passing by, like classical with the harpsichord, metal with Metalica, and techno drumbeat last. Luna, congrats with the new position as reaction-cat. Please look after Dom. I think Dom has some claws of herself if she wants to, but nevertheless look after her. We the reaction viewers really like her reactions. Dom, thanks again, and keep on rock'n.
She most certainly does! She was especially close to Bruno and he defo had a soft spot for her, not sure how or why but that makes her extra special for me. She honestly looked like she could have been his daughter.
Probably the greatest Nightwish song ever - if not just the greatest song by anyone ever. Such depth and complexity. Simply epic. Great song and great reaction. Keep up the good work. Greetings from the Nightwish Army (Sydney, Australia Division) 🇦🇺🤘
The amazing quality of the lyrics, comsidering the obtuse and complexity of the science is even more astomishing when you consider that it is written in Tuomas's second language
Indeed the greatest show on earth. I love hearing the tremor in your voice. That emotion is universal to everyone hearing this. It makes you so concious about being lucky to be alive and experiencing all the wonders around us. Not just taking everything for granted. This is not just music. It is poetry, filosofie, pure happiness, a warning, everything. This should be showed at universities all around the world at the beginning of every new semester. To make future generations aware of who they are and what we can achieve or loose if we don't take care about each other and our planet.. I can think of some leaders in this world who could benefit from receiving a copy of this as well.... Love seeing you being blown away. Because it is absolutely recognisable. I relived my first time seeing this. And yes, you were right: " is she even human?". No , She is not. She was send from the Andromeda Galaxy to bring beauty, happiness and some wisdom to those wicked earthlings. And on that same spaceship was a band called Nightwish. This really is the greatest show on earth. Mozart and Beethoven move over, here comes Nightwish.
Thank you!! I urge you if your in the mood to watch again (I have, probably 75 times, lol) to watch the Tampere Finland version. They both have their place, but in my opinion that one is IT! It's an open outdoor stadium and it just has an even bigger grandiosity to it, if that's even possible. Floor is always on, as are all of them, but I just think that show was magical.... Her parents were in the audience and it was a really special moment for Floor.
This is truly a masterpiece of music. They call back to some of the greatest music ever written. Be sure to watch the Tampere, Finland version of this song as well. Floor's mom and dad were in the audience and it was a home concert for the guys.
Imagine that this was the first Nightwish music/video you ever heard/saw!!! This RUclips video is how RUclips first introduced me to Nightwish a couple of years ago. I was totally amazed by the band, the performance, Floor, and the subject of the song. Took some time to scrape my jaw off the ground. I have not stopped listening to them and saw them live virtually twice in May 2021 and live in Montreal in May 2022.
this is a wonderful reaction superb with the emotion that your beautiful face has congratulations you are adorable even your cat is... Thomas is SIMPLY A GENIUS Florr a wonderful Valkyrie of symphonic metal we love Nightwish thank you truly wonderful creature a hug from Italy to the next wonderful reaction
Thank you for this fantastic reaction❤. I was lucky to hear them perform this live in Gelsenkirchen last year. And yes it was even much more impressive live!
Amazing reaction to an amazing masterpiece. I have been to several hundred concerts and watching NW perform this live is one of my all time favorite moments in my nearly 60 years on this planet!
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Nightwish in concert 4 times now, the last one I was front row right in front of Marko. They performed this song every time I’ve seen them and it’s just amazing. I’m still heartbroken over Marko leaving, I’ll never get over that one
It also has Troy on whistle instead of ebow guitar (I prefer ebow, but that’s minor). And - most importantly - Floor’s parents at their first Nightwish concert.
I also prefer the Tampere 2015 version. Not only because Tampere was my home town then but because it had everything in balance. The band performing in front of their own people, with Floor's parents present, the music-synced fireworks above the Ratina Stadium, gorgeous Nightwish pieces all night live ( but just as impressive if you watch them on the video ). Epic!
It is so good to see your smiling face again, hear that beautiful accent, and watch Nightwish with you. The Wembley version is my fave, and I enjoyed seeing your reaction and listening to your opinion, which I seemed to always agree with. Look forward to the reaction to the new song, Peter
I have to tell you a secret today. I love watching your reactions because I see that you feel the same joy that I do when you listen to Nightwish. Their music touches your soul. I also like you because you have a big heart for animals. I have to make one comment (at my age I'm allowed to do that😅); You are such a lovely, friendly and pretty woman that I have decided that in my next life I will be your cat.😅 All the best and stay healthy everyone.😜
Loved loved loved your reaction! (And laidback Luna😊) I've had quite a bit of most favourite bands in my 66 years of life, but Nightwish is still on the top of that list for several years now. I really enjoy seeing other people getting moved by them. Thank you for that.
Greetings from the land of midnight sun (Finnish Lapland) 🤗 We are truly the lucky ones. Same msg continues with the new single. Should appreciate all we have 👍 All the best and enjoy life 🤗
Thanks for a great reaction. I saw this live at Wembley in November 2022 and it was the most amazing experience. Although I didn't want the concert to end, I was looking forward to seeing them perform this live. With no Marco, Floor sang his parts in the main vocals, accompanied of course by Troy. Instead if the original ending, they used Ad Astra at the end, which meant after taking their bow, Floor returned to the microphone to add her vocalising parts. What an amazing end to the most unforgettable performance
Nightwish, the greatest show on earth, the only time you don't mind being in a traffic jam as you know you will be able to hear the full song., good to hear a reaction video from a fellow Scot, keep up the good.
Thank you Dom for this reaction. This song is an absolute masterpiece. The more often you listen to it and the more you engage with the lyrics, the more fascinating and touching it is. It's unbelievable what every member of the band does LIVE here, especially Floor with her gift of slipping into the role of storyteller with her extremely impressive voice. If I had a time machine, I would be standing in the front row at this concert in the sold-out Wembley Arena. 🤘
I love Luna!!! So nice to see you enjoying that relationship again! Enjoy it. I love the music in this. Great reaction. I always love theatrical music. Take care out there you amazing beauty!!! 🍻🤟👏
I know everyone is going to point you to the Tampere performance, but I love this Wembley performance too. Having Richard Dawkins speaking live is very special and adds something to an already incredible song. This song also ties together the entire Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, including the "We were here" section, which comes from Alpenglow but hits in an entirely different way.
I can imagine been there. I was "there", São Paulo 2022. Almost the complete experience, missing only the pyros, and Marko, the bass player was Jukka. It is what it is, and IS A FANTASTIC experience!
It always breaks my heart when i see reactor cover this song and not have the lyrics and fully understand what this song is about. It makes the song much better than it already is. Im glad you had the lyrics up. There are a good amount of little "Easter Eggs" in this song that are easy to miss. It took me some research and watching it a dozen times to fully appreciate it. This piece is one of the greatest of our time.
Hi Dom, thanks for this. Great analysis, in tears here. This song normally does that to me, even after the 100th time! Such a thoughtful piece of music. Love Luna. Cats are always welcome in my eyes!
When you say epic about any other band's song in the world, it's something extraordinary made by them. When you say it about Nightwish's song, it's like you got C-grade at school. No words are needed for NW, we saw your face expressions 😉
I didn't realise you'd not reacted to this masterpiece...... but it was well worth the wait. So, now you have another masterpiece waiting.... the new release, Perfume of the Timeless. Another good reaction Dom.
The title of the issue is taken from a 2009 book by evolutionary biologist and atheist writer Richard Dawkins, about the evidence for biological evolution. Dawkins also contributes to the album. Holopainen explained to HMV in March 2015: "I wrote him a letter a little over a year ago and explained what ideas we had for this album, mainly about evolution. Since one of the songs goes straight to one of his books, it felt like a perfect match to try and recite him on the album. A few weeks later, he sent me an email accepting the invitation." "Later in 2014, we recorded his parts at Hats Off Studios, Oxford. This is a huge honour for us, as Dawkins is one of our greatest heroes and his writings have been a huge inspiration for the album."
Thank you for featuring this. I consider it the greatest of the three BIG Nightwish masterpieces. It is great to share people's first time experiencing this. Great idea for a companion booklet for this. There are in fact dozens of little references to scientific findings and theories buried throughout the song.
Dom, what a superb and truly beautiful reaction to TGSOE!!! It’s what makes watching these SO worthwhile! Yours is one of the top three or four I’ve ever seen…right up there with Deadgrl Superstar (she morphed into a crying ball of snot by the end!), and Songs and Thongs, (with Harry nearly speechless but proclaiming “This should be the anthem of humans!”) After a couple thousand watches of the performances and reactions, to this day I’m still awestruck at the references…not only lyrically but musically. This thing is quite literally jam packed with them. You know that gorgeous piano intro??? There’s meaning in it, too (besides being beautiful and tranquil). In the melody, one note held a little then followed by six notes. The sixth note is held to emulate the “one” again, and it repeats. The significance??? 1 is the atomic number of hydrogen, and 6 the atomic number of carbon. Stars fuse hydrogen into helium and successively heavier elements. “From the stellar nursery, into a carbon feast” as the lyric goes. The maestro took a fundamental relationship of chemistry and made a melody out of it to tell the story. Can you say WTF?????????
Richard Dawson, who narrates during the song & comes out at the end ro speak is an evolutionary biologist who wrote the book The Greatest Show on Earth, which was the inspiration for this song.
Wonderful to see you smiling again and giving your love to the 'apprentice'. This song is the standard on how to write and perform music. As always, your genuineness and emotions bring integrity and drive to your reactions. Keep on being you, cheers Rich

Thank you I will 🤘
@@themetalmuse react to it too, nobody will say dont !!.. its incredible , the version is out of this world (as was this version).. enjoy
Oh yes, if possible do react to it as well! The sound isn't quite as good but the visuals are even better, the arrangement's a little different, and also as you said you can't take it all in with one listen. Anyway, great reaction again, to my favourite NW longform work.
I saw this live twice now, and it gets better and better every time
Where!!??
Tuomas, who plays keyboard, composes all Nightwish songs, and also scores the symohony & choral background tracks. He's a bloody genius!
I've seen this about 50 times, and I still get something in my eye at the huge cheer when Richard Dawkins comes on stage.
Awe thank you so much ☺️ that’s put a big smile on my face ❤️❤️❤️
💯💯💯💯
🙏❤️🤘
That was the last part of an entire concert!🤘🎸
Been on the Wembley journey, see previous vids.
And I am stunned with your beauty😮
Shucks, thank you!
'Floor summoning life into existence' is probably THE single best summary of that piece of music I have ever heard.
I had to pleasure oof seeing this life 5 times by now aand it's noothing but shivers down yoour spine for 20min straaight EVERY DAMN TIME.
I am so painfully jealous of you right now. I would sell my left hand just to see this live.
Show time through the years perfect 👍
Hi Dom,
Great reaction as ever.
The amazing quality of the lyrics, comsidering the obtuse and complexity of the science is even more astomishing when you consider that it is written in Tuomas's second language
welcome back to the NIGHTWISH ARMY !!!🤩🥰😍
I’ll check it out 👍👍
Imagine that this was the first Nightwish music/video you ever heard/saw!!!
I cannot wait to have that experience
I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Nightwish in concert 4 times now, the last one I was front row right in front of Marko. They performed this song every time I’ve seen them and it’s just amazing. I’m still heartbroken over Marko leaving, I’ll never get over that one
🥰🥰🥰
We told you it was epic!
Go and watch the Tampere version with fireworks.
Tuomas is a Lyrical/Musical Genius
It also has Troy on whistle instead of ebow guitar (I prefer ebow, but that’s minor). And - most importantly - Floor’s parents at their first Nightwish concert.
You did! And you were right 😋
First NW concert?
@@themetalmuse Yes
The reaction for the new song is coming very soon. I just finished editing it.
You aren’t the first person to say they want to be reincarnated as one of my cats. They live very pampered lives. 🤣
It was beyond epic it was Grand as in having grandeur.
Grandeur is the word I was searching for!
Epicness, breathtaking, and mindblowing, all at The same time! We were here!
Loved loved loved your reaction! (And laidback Luna😊)
I've had quite a bit of most favourite bands in my 66 years of life, but Nightwish is still on the top of that list for several years now. I really enjoy seeing other people getting moved by them. Thank you for that.
Laid back for that moment, she tears around and pounces everything normally. But she’s a major snuggle bunny for her mumma.
Tuomas Holopainen, our metal Mozart 🤘❤
Greetings from the land of midnight sun (Finnish Lapland) 🤗 We are truly the lucky ones. Same msg continues with the new single. Should appreciate all we have 👍 All the best and enjoy life 🤗
I’ve reacted to it but not released the video yet 🤘🤘🤘
It's been on my feed, but I've avoided playing it. I'm waiting for the CD to arrive from Finland so I can listen to the entire work.
Absolutely Brilliant!
Nightwish, the greatest show on earth, the only time you don't mind being in a traffic jam as you know you will be able to hear the full song., good to hear a reaction video from a fellow Scot, keep up the good.
Couldn't agree more! Thank you!
Thank you so much for a The Greatest Reaction to The Greatest Show on Earth. You got it all right.....
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I love Luna!!! So nice to see you enjoying that relationship again! Enjoy it. I love the music in this. Great reaction. I always love theatrical music. Take care out there you amazing beauty!!! 🍻🤟👏
Thank you 🙏 Luna is an angel 😇
I know everyone is going to point you to the Tampere performance, but I love this Wembley performance too. Having Richard Dawkins speaking live is very special and adds something to an already incredible song. This song also ties together the entire Endless Forms Most Beautiful album, including the "We were here" section, which comes from Alpenglow but hits in an entirely different way.
I can imagine been there. I was "there", São Paulo 2022. Almost the complete experience, missing only the pyros, and Marko, the bass player was Jukka. It is what it is, and IS A FANTASTIC experience!
❤️❤️❤️
Glad you enjoyed it! Luna is just such a little snuggler.
its lovely to see you enjoy and shine with this music! shine, grow and and reach fo the stars, your reaction touches me. so grand!
ty soo muchh!!
The Greatest Show on Earth......The Greatest Reaction on Earth 💓
Kind regards from the Netherlands ❤❤
😻😻😻
After the show I was physically and emotionally drained and was on cloud nine walking back to the travel lodge I was staying at.
When you say epic about any other band's song in the world, it's something extraordinary made by them. When you say it about Nightwish's song, it's like you got C-grade at school. No words are needed for NW, we saw your face expressions 😉
What a big beautiful kitty kat. She obviously loves her mom.
Forever grateful I got to experience this live.
You’re so damn lucky! I’m jealous as hell.
@@themetalmuse Oh hopefully you get the chance! Even though I'm not sure they're gonna end their concerts like this with the new album and next tour.
the girl in the front is a LEGEND
Yasss
I didn't realise you'd not reacted to this masterpiece...... but it was well worth the wait. So, now you have another masterpiece waiting.... the new release, Perfume of the Timeless. Another good reaction Dom.
from the beginning to the end this song is briljant!!!
Agree!!! 👍
You're best reaction ever, love your smile and see you say fuck was so very appropriate 😊😊😊
🙏🤣🤣🤣f🦆
Like the cat! Is it a maine coone? Good reaction! Thumbs up! I can see you feel it! This song is one of the best metal songs in the world!
A few weeks later, he sent me an email accepting the invitation."
"Later in 2014, we recorded his parts at Hats Off Studios, Oxford. This is a huge honour for us, as Dawkins is one of our greatest heroes and his writings have been a huge inspiration for the album."
at last Muse is doing this THANK YOU !!! 💖🙌😍
Took me a while 😆
Nice to meet you, Luna! This song inspired me to read Dawkins' The Greatest Show on Earth and I recommend reading it. Incredible tale of life.
☺️☺️☺️
This is the best Nightwish song ever
Hit and sank . Thanks for the emotional reaction.
Thank you for featuring this. I consider it the greatest of the three BIG Nightwish masterpieces. It is great to share people's first time experiencing this. Great idea for a companion booklet for this. There are in fact dozens of little references to scientific findings and theories buried throughout the song.
Yes, you did hear Bach! 🎉
Thanks for sharing things this incredible song. You appteciate Nightwish and we appreciate you!
Dom, what a superb and truly beautiful reaction to TGSOE!!! It’s what makes watching these SO worthwhile! Yours is one of the top three or four I’ve ever seen…right up there with Deadgrl Superstar (she morphed into a crying ball of snot by the end!), and Songs and Thongs, (with Harry nearly speechless but proclaiming “This should be the anthem of humans!”)
After a couple thousand watches of the performances and reactions, to this day I’m still awestruck at the references…not only lyrically but musically.
Omg thank you for such a kind complement ❤️🫶
"Endless forms most beautiful..."
Ah
Richard Dawson, who narrates during the song & comes out at the end ro speak is an evolutionary biologist who wrote the book The Greatest Show on Earth, which was the inspiration for this song.
I clocked that.
welcome to the world of Nightwish, Floorgasms, and the mind of the "metal mozart" Tuomas!!
Oh I’m already a seasoned member. The Nightwish Army welcomed me a while ago. I’ve done quite a few reactions to them.
Wonderful to see you smiling again and giving your love to the 'apprentice'. This song is the standard on how to write and perform music. As always, your genuineness and emotions bring integrity and drive to your reactions. Keep on being you, cheers Rich
This is a so moving song, and so moving reaction from you, we all been there, thanks beautiful ♥
