THIS! This is why we watch reaction videos. To vicariously re-experience the wonder and joy we first felt hearing/seeing masterpieces like this. I'm a 65 year old grumpy metalhead, and I'm in tears. Thank you Dom.
Glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well said
57 and love this group. ❤️❤️ Wih all my ❤️
It's my first time hearing this song. I'm 49 and I've known about this band about 4 months... ❤❤❤
Wooooooooooo❤❤❤
Floor: Enter LUCA
Marko: Enter Ionia
Both: Enter ratkind...
Emppu: Enter Sandman
This made me chuckle 😃
Brilliant, it amazes me how many people don't notice the Metallica tribute.
The narrator, Richard Dawkins, is an evolutionary biologist who wrote about fifteen years ago a book about evolution, titled The Greatest Show on Earth.
I have the audio book 😁
@@themetalmuse Me too. It's a great book...but hard to get through. Like Brian Greene's Elegant Universe
Sir Richard of course ;-)
Nightwish is basically the only band that makes a 21 minute song that leaves you wanting more at the end.
Also, it's great to see you back and reacting to Nightwish again. Hopefully you react to their new song "Perfume Of The Timeless", which I am sure you will love.
I’ve recorded a reaction to that …. It will be out soon
@@themetalmuseExcellent because I can't wait to see that reaction from you!
Not the only, but is one of those, for sure. If you like progressive bands, you know what I mean. But for mainstream (don't saying as a bad thing) Nightwish is more likeable.
❤️❤️❤️
❤
Doesnt matter how many nightwish songs people have listened to, when they get hit by this song... everyone is the same. Awestruck! Great reaction again :)
Thank you 🙏☺️
Ja, WE WERE HERE !!!!!!!!
We are the lucky ones.......
🤘🤘🤘
🤘🤘
There’s something poetic about you experiencing this song as random people walk and drive by your window. Each of us in our own little worlds but together in this larger one.
That perfectly compliments the content of the song
What a stunning observation, @TheMightyOdin
Dude i had the same thought. Amazing. Much love yall.
You weren't rambling, Nightwish has this effect on all of us ! The new single is awesome, too.
LOL 😜 me and my rambles. I’ve reacted to their new song, just need to edit it.
@@themetalmuse ❤❤❤ I can't wait to hear what you think of it
No matter how many times I have listened to the song, it still gives me multiple "Floorgasms" and tears running down my cheeks! I am 66 years old, and Nightwish is the only Metal band that can bring tears to my eyes!
It's great that we get to experience Nightwish in our lives.
So damn good. I’ve been listening to it nonstop since I reacted to it.
@@themetalmuseas most of us did Dom, it is a totally joyful addiction
Agreeeeed that💪❤️
The tapestry of chemistry = The periodic table
The writing in the garden = the four letter alphabet of DNA.
❤️🤘
They played this when I saw them in 22 but they did not have all the music and spoken words at the end. They closed out be Floor and the band comoimg out and did the last part of Ad Astra. As soon as it was over I got back to my car and as I am waiting for the line of cars to get out, I wept like a baby. I am a 51 YO Male and I cried. Irt was just so magical. When the entire venue was screaming "WE WERE HERE" I was not in my body. I was floating above the cloud. Word of Warning.........When you do the new song that just came out "Perfume of the Timeless", pull uo the lyrics beforehand as they are stunning. I would also advise tissue near by. That song is extremely powerful. EPIC.
The We Were Here bit just hit my soul
I am a 48 year old man that only discovered NW in 2019. As someone who grew up fairly unemotional, and who currently lives in the North of England, I get it! This song literally makes me weep every time I see it on RUclips. (any version!) As an atheist I think it feels like what church can be to religious believers.
It is for sure the greatest show on earth 👏🤘🏻
Jaw on floor the whole time
@@themetalmuse off course, it’s nightwish🤷♂️😂
A music triumph inspired by life's triumph...Evolution. Cheers from Greece!
Greets to Greece 🙏🤘❤️
Beautiful reaction, Thank you 😆 This is just a masterpiece complete with goosebumps and it just keeps building. WE WERE HEEEERE!!
That bit had my heart racing!
When you re-watch it again by yourself, try the version from Tampere. It has some special uniqueness that will enhance the awe factor even more! And, speaking of awe, "Awwwww, Luna is so cute. Give her an extra big nose-boop kiss from this fan!"
Thank you I will 🤘
@@themetalmuse react to it too, nobody will say dont !!.. its incredible , the version is out of this world (as was this version).. enjoy
Oh yes, if possible do react to it as well! The sound isn't quite as good but the visuals are even better, the arrangement's a little different, and also as you said you can't take it all in with one listen. Anyway, great reaction again, to my favourite NW longform work.
An artpiece second to none. And great reaction to it. Next Perfume of the Timeless. Greetings from sunny Finland.
Coming soon!
Four point six billion years packed into 21 minutes and change.
Yes, you heard harpsichord. It was part of a quick nod to the history of music. If memory serves, it included fragments of: Dies Irie, Minuet in G, Toccata and Fugue in D Minor, a quick banjo arpeggio, Enter Sandman, and just a touch of EDM...and I'm sure I've missed something.
The reason for the crowd cheering near the end of Prof. Dawkins' presentation was his line, "endless forms most beautiful". That's the title of the Nightwish album on which this masterwork can be found, and the album for which they were touring to promote at the time.
🤩🤩🤗🤗🤗
I think this was the song that really got me hooked on Nightwish. I'd obviously heard a few of their other songs before this one, but this was the one that let me know that Nightwish (Tuomas, especially) were a bunch of science nerds just like me.
Tomorrow I will be travelling all day from North Wales, and this time tomorrow evening I will be in the Klokgebouw in Eindhoven watching Floor Jansen in concert. Can't bleedin' wait! 😁
Well now I’m painfully jealous!!!!
@@themetalmuse Just got home. It was bloody amazing! 😁 Hopefully she'll announce some UK dates sometime soon, cos I definitely want to go again.
You reaction made this epic performance even brighter. Yes - you are the metal muse.
Greetings from Germany!
Wow, thank you! So glad to hear you liked it. But the muse part came from me just sitting here musing about music/ metal news updates.
@@themetalmuse Don't cover your ability to affect people with your facial expressions and lovely smile! You are great - so thank you!
In my opinion the greatest composition of my lifetime, displacing "Gates of Delirium" by Yes. I find it interesting both are about 20 minutes long and while one is based on war and peace, the other is based on the evolution of life on our planet. Both are massive undertakings, and handled brilliantly. So glad that you finally got to his masterpiece for the ages. When you asked "Is she even human?" The answer is no, at that moment she was Gaea, calling life to awaken! (I typed this before you said it! hahaha). It was Bach's Minuet in G (see Lover's Concerto for a pop adaption). Welcome to Luna, a worthy successor for our buddy, Bruno. Much love to all of you.
💯💯💯💯
This is the joy of good progressive music whether it be Metal, Rock or even folk. It envelopes you and carries you away from your everyday state and takes you somewhere else like a good film or a good book. The greatest show on earth is a fabulous example and hopefully encouragement for those that exist on three minute radio ditties and gym playlists to take time, sit comfortably pack a lunch and LISTEN………………. Better for you than drugs but just as uplifting and once experienced just as addictive.
Music gives me serotonin more than any pill could 😊
That was the last part of an entire concert!🤘🎸
Been on the Wembley journey, see previous vids.
I saw Nightwish live in Birmingham UK November 2022, they are truly awesome, mesmerising. I've seen many many top bands but Nightwish are on another level.
Hi Dom,
Great reaction as ever. Yeah, this is one of the bangers from Nightwish. As you guessed it, it is the evolution of earth put in 22 minutes.
The part with the harpsichord is actual the evolution of music, you hear different music genres passing by, like classical with the harpsichord, metal with Metalica, and techno drumbeat last.
Luna, congrats with the new position as reaction-cat. Please look after Dom. I think Dom has some claws of herself if she wants to, but nevertheless look after her. We the reaction viewers really like her reactions.
Dom, thanks again, and keep on rock'n.
She most certainly does! She was especially close to Bruno and he defo had a soft spot for her, not sure how or why but that makes her extra special for me. She honestly looked like she could have been his daughter.
Hi Lady, First time here for me, and Girl You Rock Girl, My Wife and I, had the greatest of pleasure of being there for the whole of this show, 8 rows from the front, and Centre stage, and it will live with us forever, and we have seen Nightwish Live all over Europe and The UK 26 times, To Date, Including Waken 2013, Thank You, We Loved your review. And it was so heart felt and real. We can both see just how much you love this Band.
Awe thank you so much ☺️ that’s put a big smile on my face ❤️❤️❤️
I have to tell you a secret today. I love watching your reactions because I see that you feel the same joy that I do when you listen to Nightwish. Their music touches your soul. I also like you because you have a big heart for animals. I have to make one comment (at my age I'm allowed to do that😅); You are such a lovely, friendly and pretty woman that I have decided that in my next life I will be your cat.😅 All the best and stay healthy everyone.😜
You aren’t the first person to say they want to be reincarnated as one of my cats. They live very pampered lives. 🤣
We told you it was epic!
Go and watch the Tampere version with fireworks.
Tuomas is a Lyrical/Musical Genius
It also has Troy on whistle instead of ebow guitar (I prefer ebow, but that’s minor). And - most importantly - Floor’s parents at their first Nightwish concert.
You did! And you were right 😋
First NW concert?
@@themetalmuse Yes
I also prefer the Tampere 2015 version. Not only because Tampere was my home town then but because it had everything in balance. The band performing in front of their own people, with Floor's parents present, the music-synced fireworks above the Ratina Stadium, gorgeous Nightwish pieces all night live ( but just as impressive if you watch them on the video ). Epic!
Another masterpiece. Thanks for this reaction. Have been waiting for it. 😊😊❤️❤️
My pleasure 😊
Greetings from the land of midnight sun (Finnish Lapland) 🤗 We are truly the lucky ones. Same msg continues with the new single. Should appreciate all we have 👍 All the best and enjoy life 🤗
I’ve reacted to it but not released the video yet 🤘🤘🤘
It's been on my feed, but I've avoided playing it. I'm waiting for the CD to arrive from Finland so I can listen to the entire work.
Haha i love the people peeking trough your window at 15:01
Amazing reaction to an amazing masterpiece. I have been to several hundred concerts and watching NW perform this live is one of my all time favorite moments in my nearly 60 years on this planet!
I cannot wait to have that experience
I've watched this performance and reactions to it hundreds of times... Dom, I have to say, I've never seen anyone understand and appreciate this masterpiece on the level that you did particularly on their first viewing. Your observations were spot on and shows a high level of intelligence on your part that shines through. Keep doing what you are doing and thank you.
I think the fact I have a degree in history and social anthropology and have Dawkins book on audiobook means that I was able to understand a lot of this also having the lyrics turned on really helped
Hi Dom, thanks for this. Great analysis, in tears here. This song normally does that to me, even after the 100th time! Such a thoughtful piece of music. Love Luna. Cats are always welcome in my eyes!
Glad you enjoyed it! Luna is just such a little snuggler.
I loved what you said - "An anthem for Humanity". 100%
❤️❤️❤️
Was trying to write something profound but the brain kept glitching so I'll just settle for... Thank you.
❤️❤️❤️❤️ I was the same at the end lol.
Show time through the years perfect 👍
Imagine that this was the first Nightwish music/video you ever heard/saw!!!
This RUclips video is how RUclips first introduced me to Nightwish a couple of years ago.
I was totally amazed by the band, the performance, Floor, and the subject of the song. Took some time to scrape my jaw off the ground.
I have not stopped listening to them and saw them live virtually twice in May 2021 and live in Montreal in May 2022.
After the show I was physically and emotionally drained and was on cloud nine walking back to the travel lodge I was staying at.
Nightwish, the greatest show on earth, the only time you don't mind being in a traffic jam as you know you will be able to hear the full song., good to hear a reaction video from a fellow Scot, keep up the good.
Couldn't agree more! Thank you!
I can imagine been there. I was "there", São Paulo 2022. Almost the complete experience, missing only the pyros, and Marko, the bass player was Jukka. It is what it is, and IS A FANTASTIC experience!
❤️❤️❤️
the girl in the front is a LEGEND
Yasss
It was beyond epic it was Grand as in having grandeur.
Grandeur is the word I was searching for!
Probably the greatest Nightwish song ever - if not just the greatest song by anyone ever. Such depth and complexity. Simply epic. Great song and great reaction. Keep up the good work. Greetings from the Nightwish Army (Sydney, Australia Division) 🇦🇺🤘
The amazing quality of the lyrics, comsidering the obtuse and complexity of the science is even more astomishing when you consider that it is written in Tuomas's second language
I've seen this about 50 times, and I still get something in my eye at the huge cheer when Richard Dawkins comes on stage.
This is truly a masterpiece of music. They call back to some of the greatest music ever written.
Be sure to watch the Tampere, Finland version of this song as well. Floor's mom and dad were in the audience and it was a home concert for the guys.
I’ll check it out 👍👍
I didn't realise you'd not reacted to this masterpiece...... but it was well worth the wait. So, now you have another masterpiece waiting.... the new release, Perfume of the Timeless. Another good reaction Dom.
When you say epic about any other band's song in the world, it's something extraordinary made by them. When you say it about Nightwish's song, it's like you got C-grade at school. No words are needed for NW, we saw your face expressions 😉
The title of the issue is taken from a 2009 book by evolutionary biologist and atheist writer Richard Dawkins, about the evidence for biological evolution. Dawkins also contributes to the album. Holopainen explained to HMV in March 2015: "I wrote him a letter a little over a year ago and explained what ideas we had for this album, mainly about evolution. Since one of the songs goes straight to one of his books, it felt like a perfect match to try and recite him on the album. A few weeks later, he sent me an email accepting the invitation."
"Later in 2014, we recorded his parts at Hats Off Studios, Oxford. This is a huge honour for us, as Dawkins is one of our greatest heroes and his writings have been a huge inspiration for the album."
Thanks for a great reaction. I saw this live at Wembley in November 2022 and it was the most amazing experience. Although I didn't want the concert to end, I was looking forward to seeing them perform this live. With no Marco, Floor sang his parts in the main vocals, accompanied of course by Troy. Instead if the original ending, they used Ad Astra at the end, which meant after taking their bow, Floor returned to the microphone to add her vocalising parts. What an amazing end to the most unforgettable performance
I was there at this show. Greatest Show was and is my favourite song, and I'd read an interview with Tuomas earlier that year where he said they were unlikely to ever play this in its entirety live. So when the opening notes started at their first Wembley show later that year, I nearly felt my soul leave my body. It was such an experience. I've been to all three Wembley shows they've done, and this was amazing every time.
Dear Dom, would you please react their new video, if you haven't already? It's called Perfume of the Timeless, first single of their new album
I have …. Just editing it now 🤘🤘🤘
This is a so moving song, and so moving reaction from you, we all been there, thanks beautiful ♥
🤘🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Dom for this reaction.
This song is an absolute masterpiece. The more often you listen to it and the more you engage with the lyrics, the more fascinating and touching it is.
It's unbelievable what every member of the band does LIVE here, especially Floor with her gift of slipping into the role of storyteller with her extremely impressive voice.
If I had a time machine, I would be standing in the front row at this concert in the sold-out Wembley Arena. 🤘
It always breaks my heart when i see reactor cover this song and not have the lyrics and fully understand what this song is about. It makes the song much better than it already is. Im glad you had the lyrics up. There are a good amount of little "Easter Eggs" in this song that are easy to miss. It took me some research and watching it a dozen times to fully appreciate it. This piece is one of the greatest of our time.
Loved loved loved your reaction! (And laidback Luna😊)
I've had quite a bit of most favourite bands in my 66 years of life, but Nightwish is still on the top of that list for several years now. I really enjoy seeing other people getting moved by them. Thank you for that.
Laid back for that moment, she tears around and pounces everything normally. But she’s a major snuggle bunny for her mumma.
The Greatest Show on Earth......The Greatest Reaction on Earth 💓
Kind regards from the Netherlands ❤❤
😻😻😻
Tuomas Holopainen, our metal Mozart 🤘❤
Epicness, breathtaking, and mindblowing, all at The same time! We were here!
I love Luna!!! So nice to see you enjoying that relationship again! Enjoy it. I love the music in this. Great reaction. I always love theatrical music. Take care out there you amazing beauty!!! 🍻🤟👏
Thank you 🙏 Luna is an angel 😇
Nice to meet you, Luna! This song inspired me to read Dawkins' The Greatest Show on Earth and I recommend reading it. Incredible tale of life.
☺️☺️☺️
This was everything I hoped it would be when you got to it - fantastic reaction, seeing the effect it had on you made me quite emotional - as does the fact that a band of this depth, with this complexity, with this message, that write songs of this length - can sell out arenas. It gives me hope, just a little, that we are not alone, millions feel as we do 🤘
We were here!!!!!!
Oh those peepers outside the window around 15:00 😂
Not yet watched it, but you are about to go on A Journey....
Hahahaha trust me it was hard to remember to keep breathing in and out.
This is amazing musically, but also for how the lyrics reveal a deep understanding of the history of evolution and life on Earth. Poetry, yes, but with such a solid grounding in science. From the stellar nursery to the Devonian sea to the birth of sentience and beyond....
at last Muse is doing this THANK YOU !!! 💖🙌😍
Took me a while 😆
As a matter of fact, there is a sort of companion guide. A person using the handle "steffix" made a music video to accompany this song. Actually they did tweak the video a couple of times, so there are now three variants on RUclips. The comment sections are the companion guide, laying bare most of the Easter eggs, both musical and lyrical.
Judging by the size I'm guessing that Luna is a Maine Coon also?
She is indeed. She’s a mini tho. I don’t think she’ll be as big as Bruno.
This is the best Nightwish song ever
Hallo Scotland! Great reaction to a great song and great band. It was fun watching you watching "The greatest show on earth" for the first time. In october i`m visiting your beautiful country. I`m gonna se Aurora in concert in Usher hall Edingburgh. Cant wait. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
Glad you enjoyed it! I graduated in that hall. It’s beautiful 🤩
@@themetalmuse Yes it is. I was there in 2019 i saw Loreena McKennitt in concert.
And if you know how Floor gets into Nightwish is even more amazing, and her first concert with them, it is overwhelming!!
How did she end up with Nightwish?
@@themetalmuse TLDR version: About 12 years ago, their previous singer Anette quit/left/was fired/something-or-other-it's-never-been-very-clear, they were mid tour and suddenly deep in the brown and sticky, they knew Floor from her previous bands After Forever and Revamp, but she had basically had a bit of a burnout/breakdown, was slowly recovering but wasn't really working, and was actually at her sister's wedding when they called her and basically said "we have a show in two days and we have no singer - can you learn the songs in 48 hours?". She said yes, and the rest is history. There's a documentary about it.
Amazing

It is so good to see your smiling face again, hear that beautiful accent, and watch Nightwish with you. The Wembley version is my fave, and I enjoyed seeing your reaction and listening to your opinion, which I seemed to always agree with. Look forward to the reaction to the new song, Peter
The reaction for the new song is coming very soon. I just finished editing it.
I WAS there.
It was as incredible as you imagine.
However, I have grown some resentment towards this song as the first time was "Oh my God, they're actually playing the whole thing?!?!?!"
The next tour was "Oh wow. OK, they're playing it again! Nice!"
THIRD tour, it was "Ohh... really? Again??? This is too much".
I hope they don't play it next tour. It's too much to play every time. BUT, seeing you watch it for the first time was beautiful as it refreshed my love of the song.
Amazing! ❤
welcome to the world of Nightwish, Floorgasms, and the mind of the "metal mozart" Tuomas!!
Oh I’m already a seasoned member. The Nightwish Army welcomed me a while ago. I’ve done quite a few reactions to them.
Very very beautiful, thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Welcome 😊
Thank you for this fantastic reaction❤. I was lucky to hear them perform this live in Gelsenkirchen last year. And yes it was even much more impressive live!
This song has always made me well up, the 'we were here' always punches me in the gut because no matter who you are or what you do, we all leave our little mark. Eye shadows on point there btw 👌
Thank you! 🙏
Beautiful. Yes, Floor was Gaia in spirit.
If/When you feel the need to listen to this song again...then I'll suggest you watch the one from Tampere, its not better or worse its just a little different. This one got Richard Dawkings, and at some points a little better sound, but there is just something about the other one and Floors parents are also at that Show.
Having her parents there will have defo influenced her performance.
@@themetalmuse And with the synchronized fireworks the song already amazing became spectacular. No counting the lovely ending.(Live at Tampere 2015)
If you haven't heard Floor with the other bands she was in before Nightwish, you should check her out with her first band, After Forever, which she joined when she was 16. She later formed her own band called Revamp. Both bands have some great tunes.
🙏❤️🤘
Welcome back to Nightwish Dom! We missed you so much and this was absolutely perfect! And oh my God your eye makeup was just stunning. Please don't wait so long next time. You will always be one of my favorite reactors and we love you 🤗

Just commenting after 21 seconds. Are you aware you have a black panther in your arms ? Damn that cat is huge. But so cute
She’s still a kitten, she’s about 7 months old 😆
🇬🇧 Norfolk along for the ride another masterpiece by Tuomas 😊
Hey Norfolk, thank you for coming along
If you like to see Floor dressed as Gaia, with strings of DNA on her dress, in the colours if the Finnish flag: Same song but in Tampere 2015 (with live Fireworks during the song).
THE Greatest sure
Now go and watch the Tampere show so you can get the experience how a live show should be made. I personally like that version way more than this because a song like this NEEDS a major stage performance and fireworks! And a camera crew who knows their job. ;) This is good mostly because the sound is a bit better and that mr Dawkings shows up at the end. As an armature I don't notice the difference in the sound that much but I know what a great show looks like! 🙃
People keep recommending that version of this song and I wonder would it be okay for me to react to the same song in a different different performance so soon?
@@themetalmuse There are a lot of other fun videos so you would probably have a lot to watch anyway, but do watch it someday! :D I'm sure you will love it too! 😃
Don't think I have ever seen a reactor so absolutely is no group on to this masterpiece. There is no other group on earth that compares to these people. Have to react to to your beautiful hair as well.
If you want a re-watch, I suggest you watch the version from Tampere 2015. It doesn’t feature Sir Dawkins, but it features some other impressive surprises and I like the instrumentation of the first part a bit better.
And yes, you did hear Bach. There was a whole sequence of musical references in that section, starting from tribal drumming, and featuring Bach, Beethoven, banjo music, Metallica, a modern dance beat and more…
I will do! 🫶
A very nice reaction from you👍 You really made my day. It is indeed a great song. thanks girl😘
15:00 🧐nosey pedestrians peek-a-boo 🤣
Dom, what a superb and truly beautiful reaction to TGSOE!!! It’s what makes watching these SO worthwhile! Yours is one of the top three or four I’ve ever seen…right up there with Deadgrl Superstar (she morphed into a crying ball of snot by the end!), and Songs and Thongs, (with Harry nearly speechless but proclaiming “This should be the anthem of humans!”)
After a couple thousand watches of the performances and reactions, to this day I’m still awestruck at the references…not only lyrically but musically. This thing is quite literally jam packed with them.
You know that gorgeous piano intro??? There’s meaning in it, too (besides being beautiful and tranquil). In the melody, one note held a little then followed by six notes. The sixth note is held to emulate the “one” again, and it repeats. The significance??? 1 is the atomic number of hydrogen, and 6 the atomic number of carbon. Stars fuse hydrogen into helium and successively heavier elements. “From the stellar nursery, into a carbon feast” as the lyric goes. The maestro took a fundamental relationship of chemistry and made a melody out of it to tell the story.
Can you say WTF?????????
Omg thank you for such a kind complement ❤️🫶
This was the first rock concert the Prof had been to ,,😎
Good way to start 👍
Thank you for featuring this. I consider it the greatest of the three BIG Nightwish masterpieces. It is great to share people's first time experiencing this. Great idea for a companion booklet for this. There are in fact dozens of little references to scientific findings and theories buried throughout the song.
Oh yeah! Floor es GAIA ;-) great see you reactin to nigthwish again. This particular song has so many layers, so many "easter egs"... Take a look to the Tampere live version of this song.. I love the changes in the intro in that verson, hope you too.
I will thank you 🙏
Yes.. the greatest show on earth is LIFE .. how can one band have so mannnnyyy great song.. (so as always.. my fav. NW-Song is the one i just hear ✅)
Greetings from NW-Army-Germany and SabatonFan
this is a wonderful reaction superb with the emotion that your beautiful face has congratulations you are adorable even your cat is... Thomas is SIMPLY A GENIUS Florr a wonderful Valkyrie of symphonic metal we love Nightwish thank you truly wonderful creature a hug from Italy to the next wonderful reaction
Hi Dom, greetings from down south
That was a brilliant reaction, thank you 🥰
The crashes at the beginning of the song were the asteroids forming The Earth in the beginning, not The Big Bang as some people suggest. This part of the song is called 4.6 which is the supposed age of The Earth (billions of years), not 13.6 which is the supposed age of the universe
You are correct, there is so much in this song. One of the themes you haven't even touched upon. Embedded within the song Tuomas has charted the history of music from sound without words (Floor's first vocals), tribal throat singing, Metallica's "Enter Sandman" riff, Techno beats, Bach (harpsicord) and many others. See how many you can identify in your next listen? 😁
I read that Tuomas said that he didn't think that anybody would find them all
I will! 🙏🤘👍
I love the contribution that Troy makes here. So much more involved playing guitar with E-bow at the start sounding like a cello followed by Uilleann pipes plus backing singing. We know everyone else is brilliant. By the way, the instrumental middle section features the history of music starting with Gregorian chants and ending with a bit of Enter Sandman !
He’s like a Swiss Army knife of talent!!!
