    This is the most important topic, imo, in the world of singing... thru "classical" training, our voices become Gentrified, if you will... it takes away our natural tone and color that we are born with... I feel like my career has been a long process of finding my way BACK to my natural voice... I speak in tenor, but had teachers attempting to teach me as a baritone or even a bass, which is ludicrous... thank you for making this video we need more voice scholars talking about this

      Hi Ky, I love how you phrase classical training as "gentrifying our sound." That's a brilliant way to put it. Yes and Sing Like You Speak restores your voice to its natural beauty and strength. As a student put it recently, "I feel like I'm unlearning all the BS I told myself about how to sing." Keep singing my friend!

    Anyway, this takes tons of mental strength to achieve this and rewrite how you think of singing and all the things often unnecessarily associated with it- tension, force, strain, effort

    • @SingLikeYouSpeak

      Yes, it does take laser focus to make the necessary changes. However, there are some very simple tools to make it easier. For example: just begin to notice your beliefs about singing. As you become conscious of them, they begin to lose their power over you.

      It's more of a discipline rather than sheer effort. Not allowing yourself to start a song 'singing' but rather' speaking' the lyric on a pitch in your natural unaffected voice does take an act of will after years of not doing that.

    Hi mam why is sometimes in my high notes if i will sing like i speak in my upper range I fell falt what should I do mam?

    • @SingLikeYouSpeak
      @SingLikeYouSpeak  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hi there. It's probably because you are pushing for the high notes instead of using your natural speaking voice. To do: Open your throat as you inhale and use abdominal muscles like you do when you are speaking. Check out this free training: 5 Steps to Singing Fun, Freedom and Passion singlikeyouspeak.com/gift

    • @SingLikeYouSpeak
      @SingLikeYouSpeak  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@RODZACABOCATUBAY Never narrow the vowel! Because that narrows the path that breath and sound follow out to your audience. Sing Like You Speak is using how it feels when you speak - how it feels in your body - to stay open and use the voice naturally. The free training link I sent will be very helpful.

    • @SingLikeYouSpeak
      @SingLikeYouSpeak  2 года назад

      Hi, There is no one answer to correct your singing style. Hoarseness is an indicator that you are forcing your voice to work unnaturally. I suggest that you get my free video Sing with Power and Ease in 5 Minutes a day. Go here https;//singlikeyouspeak.com to get it for free. All the best! Sally
