Well done never thought of that approach. I have run into the sam issue numerous times and usually ended up seating the bullet deeper to solve the issue.

That is one way to do it . A nose sizer die would be another way .

James i have a question for you. So I got the Noe nose sizing buttons. Are you supposed to size before or after powder coating. I tried sizing after powder coating and the button is stripping off my powder coat. I have even tried to size the nose is steps. 1 thousand at a time and it still scrapes off the powder coating.

@@Johnny-jr2lq Sorry , I've never tried the nose sizing . But I think it would be no different than sizing a powder coated bullet . The PC should stay during the sizing process . Either bad PC or time or temperature of the process or a residue is causing the PC to not stay ? I always size after PC

Noe has a die that’s exactly like what you explained with the press.

Wow, what a pain in the butt. Glad I still just use lube and a sizer for my cast bullets.

It deffinately can be. Good thing it is only a problem with bore rider molds. Currently working on a couple work arounds, but thats another video.

Hm. There is a tool that is a tube with metal brushes on the inside for cleaning copper pipe prior to soldering. I wonder if you made a similar tool, that you could either hold by hand while you held the bullet with the other hand to remove the portion of powder coat that is the issue? It would have to be a cone shaped brush tool. You might even be able to make something you could put in a cordless drill, to spin it while you gently insert the tip of the bullet into it.

Interesting idea. Still have some playing to do with this but other projects have priority at the moment

@@YomommasWildlands I hear ya. Same here. Once you set your mind to some task, it's difficult to take on another problem. I'm currently pondering something. This is for single shot center fire rifles. Ever hear of anyone experimenting with patched bullets like muzzleloaders use instead of gas checks to prevent leading in the barrel?
The reason to do so is to have a low power way to shoot small game while say, deer hunting, with the same rifle. Fail at deer hunting that day, well on the way home maybe you want to nail a rabbit or squirrel. There is a device that allows it, the Hammond Game Getter, in which you use a Ramset blank to fire a round ball. Problem with it is, leading in the barrel. Which has me pondering instead of pressing the swagged round ball into the HGG, you would use a smaller ball with a lubed patch, either breech loaded, or muzzle loaded. Then just use the HGG to fire the blank.
