- We don’t need Alliant Steel powder to shoot heavy steel payloads. We can duplex a hotter and slower burning powder to achieve the desired results. In the end, every powder is a different form of nitrocellulose we can manipulate for our own uses. This load is, of course, proof tested; and should be loaded exactly how I have demonstrated in this video. I am not responsible for your reloading practices. No substitutions should be made to any published load data, this one being no exception.
I would personally load this with the 5x30 grains ratio with #4, #5 or #6 steel for general small to large duck hunting out to 40 yards. Feel free to contact me through email or our business number, or by leaving a comment.
I remember you getting roasted by the know it alls on Facebook for this lol. Glad to see this come together man this is a great solution.
@@theshotgunscientists yeah all the Fuds were having a field day... Just trying to help a brotha out. They can keep looking for Steel and paying $100/lb like it was before it dropped for the last time online.
Love this complex data and the fact that you present, And share it with us, so well. ThanX!
That was a NASTY DUCK 🦆 CRUSHING pattern.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I have old data that does this but not with steel shot. This will be a game changer for sure.
Great info. Keep the videos coming
Thats some amazing info! Its exciting to watch! Thank you for sharing my friend!
Finally cool to see it all come together. Hard to beat the LBC.
Thanks great information gonna have to try the lbc50 wads,i know the lbc43 wad was best patterning 2 3/4 wad out of my gun with 32 grains bluedot
@@philipwatzke5198 the LBC series in general is a really good wad design. In 2-3/4", I'm partial to the CSD118, but I can't say I've compared the two side by side. The 1-1/8oz load I posted earlier could probably be used with the LBC43, seeing as it was originally designed for the TPS1275...
That is great, I was wondering when someone would come up with a work around. Would there be any use for this is 1.5oz bismuth loads?
@@clinte9897 maybe, but I recently developed a 1.5oz load with Lil'gun that works great.
I got an idea that you will want to try out a 3" 1.5 oz steel shot with lil gun. Due to lil gun work in 1 3/8 oz load with good velocity the 1.5 oz should still give good velocity with less powder and more pellets
@@clks1165 1.5oz of steel with Lil'gun will work. You'll need to load it in 3.5" though.
@@saltcreekammo It won't fit in a 3"?
Longshot is a medium burn rate powder that is why it is so popular
Lots of powders such as Blue dot, Red dot ,Green dot ,E3 Unquie are hard to come by
There is alwasy Longshot?
I have never not been able to find Longshot and Lil'gun, even during the coof of 2019.
Whats the cheapest place to buy regular steel shot that you know of?
China
Have u tried any vitavori powders?
@@allthingsconsidered3211 yes, I tested Drake from American Arms Channel's 10 gauge load with VV-3N38... Worked well! I need to do more development with it. Shows potential for an A-STEEL alternative.
@@saltcreekammo I noticed their are a couple recipes, so good to know an alternative that available.
I loaded some 20g for my pops up with vv in an mossberg auto loader and it ran good. Lead tho.
How deep are the slits of the petal on the LBC 50? 7/8 of a inch or are those the pre slit wads?
@@jasonedgar6991 the version we can get as consumers is unslit. I slit them to about the 2nd or 3rd rib to the bottom...4 slits roughly 75% down.
@@saltcreekammo Thank you for the info. I just couldn't tell from the video. The LBC's are awesome wads.
Will you be posting the velocity and psi on Facebook?
@@clks1165 probably not... Both loads are within SAAMI and between 1268-1317 FPS

Well i have a good idea for 3" 1 1/4 oz steel shot with 21 to 23 gr longshot powder. Will this be possible with 3" hulls?
@@clks1165 I tested 1-1/4oz steel with the LBC50 in 2-3/4" with 21.0 grains Longshot... It was 1170 FPS and 18k+ PSI. I sent in other configurations with different wads and hulls. We'll see what happens. It's not looking good trying to get 1-1/4oz steel to work with LS.
@saltcreekammo I tried the tps wad with 1 1/4 oz and other wads. If that doesn't work, try 1 1/5 oz and see if that make a difference.
@@saltcreekammo 3 " should make the psi safe because 2 3/4" will be good for 1 1/8 oz steel shot max load.
@@clks1165 my goal was to see if I could actually get the 1-1/4oz in 2.75" to work... The loads come from a well known choke maker 👀
@saltcreekammo yep 2 3/4" hulls are only good for 1 1/8 oz load. The only way to make it work is to use one a 3-inch hull, two try 1 1/5 oz steel shot with 20 gr longshot powder, or three try seeing if lil gun powder can work.
What the psi on this load?
11,244 psi
