    This was the year the Giants beat the 15-1 Packers, the 13-3 49ers, and the 13-3 Patriots, all on the road to win the Super Bowl.

    • @tomknapp6194

      Vs the 49ers, two fumbled punt returns turned into 10 points including the game winning FG when Eli only crossed midfield 2 other times all game. Rodgers had one of his worst games of the year. So did Brady and Eli still needed lucky plays in the SB to pull out a last second win. If even an average Rodgers or Brady shows up, neither one of those games are winnable by the Giants. The same goes for 2007 against the Cowboys, Packer, and Patriots. In all those games, each QB had one of his worst games of the year and Eli still barely won. In fact, in the 2007 regular season, those same teams scored an average of 35 points against the Giants and then in the playoffs, not one of them scores more than 20 and that was because of Eli? Please explain.

      In my opinion Eli should have won the MVP in 2011 the best performance by a quarterback ever in a single season from beginning to end. The greatest season a quarterback ever had.

      @@frankguidera6828 Was he really that good? I know that in 2011, he did have the most playoff yards in history. But, let's think about this logically. He played 4 games. Most of the truly great QBs have a first round bye and will play a maximum of 3 games. So, it would be fair to take the average yards from QBs who played 3 or 4 games. Guess what happens then? Eli falls to 14th. That's a far cry from #1. In fact, 3 QBs were win about 100 yards of his record in only 3 games. But, if there is anything that defines Eli's career is that he just isn't that good and his totals are only because he throws a lot. Even below average results will eventually pile up. To illustrate that point, let's take the best yards/attempt in the post season and Eli falls to 19th.
      Seriously, people. He wasn't that good. Just about every one of his best "accomplishments" comes with a huge asterisk (like above) and if you look at the facts, it really isn't that impressive. His iron man streak is his only impressive stat. Eli should never be in the HoF.

      I saw that and was like “man this guy is good enough to play on Sundays.”
      Well early in the season, he had gotten injured for the year and kinda became an afterthought until the 2011 season started.

The Giants beat the Patriots in the regular season, Eli Manning got into a shootout with Aaron Rodgers and the then-undefeated Packers and only lost by 3 points (final score 35-38), and Eli Manning that year set a record for 4th quarter touchdowns in a season, plus the majority of his wins that season were 4th quarter comebacks. (I'm not sure which, but I know Matthew Stafford broke one of his records in 2016, but still) Also Eli broke Phil Simms record for consecutive completions in a Super Bowl. Crazy

      Top notch? Do you think that Marc Bulger, Jay Cutler, Rich Gannon, Ryan Tannehill, Daunte Culpepper, Andy Dalton, Sam Bradford or Case Keenum were good QBs? Seriously, this is a list of mediocrity at best. But, when it comes to completion percentage, yards/attempt, TD %, and passer rating, Eli is better than......... None of them. Not a single one. These are the stats that define a QBs career and Eli was lower than average (at best) QBs. Eli had some high profile wins (SBs he was carried by the defense) and no one really paid attention the many more times when he blew the game. Seriously, He was not that good and the Giants did not advance through either postseason because of him.

      @@tomknapp6194 Eli Manning is a classified "good career QB". He does get a lot of hate for the back half of his career, and being a Giants fan, those teams were horrendous, especially the offensive line.
      On the flip side though, Eli will probably make the hall of fame one day just for the sole reason he was the guy who was the QB who beat Brady twice in the super bowl. Only the best of the best should be in the hall of fame, and my list for that is severely lower than who is in right now.
      Career-wise, Eli was better than all of those quarterbacks listed, maybe not in every metric, but most. But he is by no means a hall of famer. Eli's best seasons he was a top 5 quarterback. Never had a break-out year, just mediocrity/good seasons.

    • @tomknapp6194
      @tomknapp6194 5 месяцев назад

      @@blacker5826 I would like to correct some common misconceptions that you stated.
      Eli was not a good QB. He had a top 10 passer rating once in 16 years. His average passer rating ranked at 18th, which isn’t even in the top half of the league. His passer rating was below the NFL average 9 times. He never led in any QB stats other than interceptions.
      The Patriots were beating by the Giants defense, not Eli. The defense did the impossible and held Brady to 14 points in SB 42. In 2007, 26 teams scored 14 points. They went 1-25, with those losses by an average of 13.8 points. Eli struggled to barely beat that on a lucky last second play. Other QB mostly crushed 14 points. Eli had to get lucky.
      Almost the same story in SB 46. 17 points was scored by 44 teams going 11-33. Eli still barely manages to win.
      Eli got the MVP both times because the defense held the Patriots to 23 and 15 points below their season average and Eli still barely managed to win. The Giants could have won either SB with almost any QB in the league to outscore 14 and 17 points. But, they could not have won without that defense.
      One last note, I could put Eli in a group of 15 average QBs that played in the same league as him and he doesn’t make the top 10. And you think he’s better than QBs that are in the HoF?

      Eli is literally the beneficiary of headlines to make him sound great. But, when the stats are actually examined, it is all a smokescreen and he wasn't that good.
      And if you do think that he is still great, how do you explain the fact that his passer rating was below average for over half his career?

    All you have to do is go back to week 14 where the Giants were down 34 to 29. With 2:25 left and essentially one time out, the Giants needed a stop on defense. Romo had Miles Austin wide open and he overthrew him,which gave New York the ball back. Eli goes down and scores and the Giants block a game tying field goal. This all led to this last game here. Big reason why the Giants won two Super Bowls because they got it done when it mattered and Dallas choked. Would continue to choke for 3 more seasons of 8-8 records and losing this and two more last season games to make the playoffs against the Giants, Redskins, and Eagles for the division and a playoff spot.

    This was one of the MANY times TR blew a big game for Dallas:
    2006 - In his "Pro Bowl" year he had 12 turnovers to just 6 TDs in 6 of his final 7 games (the exception was his 5 TD game against NFL bottom feeder TB). including a 3 TO gm in the finale against Det with PO seeding on the line. Then before he fumbled away that PO game in Seattle, he completed just 4 of his 1st 12 passes with the only points until the end of the first half coming from a defensive TO and a rare 50 yd FG from Gramatica. 2007 in his final 3 games (with home-field adv on the line) 1 TD 5 INTs and just a 51% completion rate. 2008 finale with a PO spot on the line - a 0 TD 3 TO game in a 44-6 blowout loss to the Eagles. 2010 PO - a 0 TD 3 TO game in a 34-3 blowout loss to the Vikings. 2011 week 4 - throws 3 interceptions (2 pick-6s) leading to the largest collapse in Boys' history. 2012 finale loss to Wash (again with a PO spot on the line) - 2 TDs to 3 TOs. 2013- week 15 loss to Green Bay has 2 ints in the final 2:58 leading to the 2nd largest collapse in Boys' history. 2013 season finale for a PO spot - he's MIA b/c, as usual, he was injured. The only 2 playoff "wins" Romo had were when his D allowed just 14 points to the Eagles (while Dallas rushed for nearly 200 yds.) and when the D created three 2nd half TOs against the Lions. Romo had a ranking of 103 on Five Thirty-Eight's list of the most clutch PO QBs of All Time (Eli Manning was 1st). Also, Romo was not on Pro Football Reference's list of the Top 25 QBs of All Time (Eli Manning is). So, to sum up: Romo - is a perennially injured, epic choke artist; Eli is a clutch ironman and HOFer. The only way Romo is getting the HOF is if he buys a ticket. Dallas homers - I will ignore all replies (for those of you with limited IQs and reading comprehension skills, that means I will not read your response - you're wasting your time and you'll be blocked).

    Tony Romo could not:
    - Stay on the field
    - Put up counting stats
    - Carry a bad team to the POs
    - Play well in elimination games
    He's been eligible for the HOF for 3 years and has yet to make it to the semi-finals. That says it all. Dallas stans. I'll ignore your replies.

    • @robogreek3157
      @robogreek3157 4 месяца назад

      Staying on the field is the only one your some what right about. Late in his career he couldn't. Tony romos 29 career game winning drives/ tying drives in the 4th/ot led all qbs in his career. He has the highest 4th quarter passer rating in nfl history. His 127 passer rating in the 2014 playoffs is the highest of any qb in the playoffs playing multiple games. His 144 passer rating in th3 Green bay playoff game he was robbed in is the highest passer rating of any qb to lose in the div round in nfl history. As for him not carrying bad teams....he had no defense and no online in his prime and never had a losing qb. And all you other fans know you feared him. He knocked off a 13-0 team. 9-0 team and multiple 5-0 teams. And hung 48 points 500 yards against thr number 1 pass defense and mvp qb ...AND STILL LOST. he should of won this division the first matchip when he led 34-22 with 4 minutes left and his defense couldnt make a stop. Those 8-8 dallas teams would win 4 games with Eli or dak. Ignoring replies means you know your wrong 😂

      @@robogreek3157 Replies like this are the reason why I don't respond. You are obviously a "Boys homer - so, I'll show here how wrong you are. I can back up everything I say using StatMuse and Pro Football Reference. However I'll start off with this: learn the difference between your and you're. Now on to your diatribe.
      I'm only somewhat (BTW this is one word) right about TR missing games? He missed 37 games in a 10 year career - 37. His 29 GWDs and his 144 passer rating in one PO game does not make him clutch. He was 2-7 in elimination games with as many turnovers as TDs (not including his fumble in that Seattle PO game); he contributed to the 2 biggest blown leads in "Boys history; in 2006 with PO seeding on the line he had 6 TDs to 10 TOs in his final 5 games; in 2007, again with PO seeding on the line he had 1 TD to 5 TOs. in his final 3 games. Oh, that 500 yard game, you forgot to mention that he threw the game-ending interception. Also, those "bad' teams that you say he was on produced 60 Pro Bowlers, 12 All Pros, 2 All Decade members (both from his o-line) and 3 HOFers. In 2014, he had the best o-line in the NFL, a record breaking RB (Murray) and he threw the ball 20% less than the average QB. He should have (BTW not should of) won the division in 2011? Well in case you forgot he missed a wide open Miles Austin that would have clinched the game and he had 2 turnovers in the final game. Those teams would have won 4 games with Eli? Seriously, you don't know what you are talking about. Eli carried a much worse team to a 9-7 record. Don't bother to respond, I will not answer you until you educate yourself.
