When you have a kid, you soon realize that life isn't just ALL ABOUT YOU anymore. Things that seemed important fall by the wayside - priorities change, and life will never be the same. You realize that your main focus soon becomes this small little person - wish you all the best and congratulations.
Good for you to take the time to enjoy the little guy. Before you know it he will be all grown up and you will wonder where the time went. As the Dad of a 24 year old, I speak of from experience 😊

You know, I like the fact Lionel is not including his baby on youtube. It should still be focused on him, and how the baby impacts him. People tend to overshare about their children, so big kudos Lionel! Good parenting points.
This guy is such an inspiration, such a calm and inteligent prespective on last season and on his new objetives to 2023. I wish you all the luck in the world Lionel, you deserve it. It's true, in the end, you should do what you love, we are not here forever so we better love what we do :)

Amazing that it took the combo of such a low, with the almost-DNF, and the high of Levi, to end up with finding back the true motivation instead of blindly chasing the Kona goal. Enjoy fatherhood, and good luck with finding that speed!
The fact is, all the money is in the PTO events. Before he had the goal to win Kona, but when you have a kid building rhe nest becomes more important. But give him a few years he will be back.

Welcome LEVI! Great to see the new litte family opening a new chapter of the journey! And - if I understand right, Lionel is back on his POWER way. A lot of people will think it's a change again, but it's not. Lionel is following his nature as a personality. For an athlete like him, there is no other way. I had issues with Achilles and my entire posterior chain (calves in particular) ended up being the root cause. A really good masseuse was able to help with it thankfully. Hope you get it sorted! Congrats as well!

Congratulations and wish you all the best. One thing I was wondring about, is Lionel going to continue with Mikal as his coach? I understood he is not following blu and gus approach. Love this new chapter in Lionel's life, I do enjoy more his 70.3 races where he goes toe 2 toe with the best. I hate his Ironman races because we never see him on camera. Now with the PTO circuit it makes so much sense financially to do that instead Ironman and also happens to be his best distance. Also I'm glad he's doing power work in swimming with the towers. To go all those amazing places and take the time to enjoy them with his son and Erin makes so much sense. I wish Nothing but pure enjoyment in pushing his limits to evolve as an athlete and a human. Keep the content coming we want to see a lot from everything he's doing training , recovery , diet also bring some friends keep the Kona vibe with the boys alive

Congratulations on the new baby. My middle daughter grew up to be a triathlete and I’ve been so happy to do triathlons together with her. I had the opportunity to crew for her first 70.5 last September in Seattle. I was a nervous wreck watching from the sidelines. I’m thinking now when she signs up for one, I will sign up. ❤

Lionel is a philosopher man. So glad he's getting back on the 70.3 train and focussing on what he loves. He cooks guys over that distance I've barely seen him lose a 70.3. What is there to prove, do what you're good at and smash it.
