I have followed your journey as I too have had to have hip surgery, the difference in recovery is amazing, although mine is privately paid for it is nothing like these facilities. I've only just been told I can swim again (only with a pool bouy), still not allowed to run yet because I'm now imbalanced, I will be walking with poles to increase stride and strength next. Best of luck on your Journey and I'm following👍

Do love a good bit of the proper sports science. Made me chuckle when you said you're heavier than when on full training; firmly believe if you're not heavier in January you've failed epically at Christmas 😂
I used to lament the 5-10 lb gain in the off season. I'm just a casual athlete but I thought it reflected poorly on my motivation. The truth is, it all makes sense and fighting it only made things harder for me. I've shifted my focus to using the time to enjoy strength training and not being in a constant deficit. I think I've actually put on some muscle over the last five years and as a female cyclist over 35, that's really tough!

It’s really awesome to see what resources are available to analyze and optimize an athlete’s performance, especially in regards to recovery from injury. On the flip side, it’s very frustrating to know that almost none of us will ever have access to resources like this. I begged and pleaded for years for somebody to help me with a bad injury that ended a career and prevented me from further pursuing my cycling aspirations, but was firmly put in my place and told I’m not worthy of help or of being a successful athlete because I don’t have enough money. I wish this lady the best, I just hope she realizes that the only reason anyone cares about her is her money.
😂😂 this lady comes from an ordinary family, she is famous because she is an incredible athlete. Stop projecting your own insecurities and failures onto us
@@CM-so1cfthat’s not generally how that works. Look at the resources she had had available for most of her life, it’s insane! Compare that to someone with no money to spend on any of that, with no support crew, just trying to figure it out on their own. Fitness and being a great athlete doesn’t guarantee access to stuff like this.
Uncommon question: how did you do it with your helix earring and swimming/chlorine ? 🙈because everyone says that you have to take a 2 week Break of swimming 🙈
