It’s always fun to see the joy on someone’s face off-roading for the first time. Great job
I’ll be interested to see how the build comes along. I daily my ‘21 and really any future mods will be relatively mild. Love your Tacoma but think I’ll be able to relate to the way it sounds like the 4runner will progress.
Great for any driver new to a vehicle to put it through its paces in snow and see how it handles and the tools or features available can help those obstacles. Good video!
As a teenager driving my 1976 3/4 ton Chevy 2 wheel drive, I learned that speed is your friend. Plus not to wrap thumbs around steering wheel. Great job 👍
You did not have power steering. That’s what gets the thumbs ! Ha Ha been there
Like the Matte pearl. Great choice Ashley. Shift knobs look great. With the standard wheels and no lift I replaced my tires with Falken Wildpeak A/T3W and they were reasonable and fantastic in deep snow.
Love the new 4runner my wife is looking at getting one thanks for all the knowledge for upgrading it.
13:18 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I hope you didn't hurt the camera too badly on that branch. Awesome vid as always, Talon (and Ashlee)!
I got lucky for sure 😵💫
Great to her out and trashing some trails!! Stock her up good and I think she will be a great trail runner!!!
"Take that off explode mode, before you drive off a cliff" LOL
Excellent video! I'm waiting for my TRD Off-road Premium to be delivered next month and I intend to take straight to the mountains. Not a lot of snow left here in SoCal but I'll try to find some and see how much I learned from this video. I'll probably get some tires first. Thanks Talon & Ashley!
Thanks for watching man 👊🏻
One suggestion is to keep thumbs out of the steering wheel, just in case you hit something and the wheel jerks. Not sure if modern power steering is as bad.
Killed it! I am loving the build and off road content, it’s an awesome addition to the channel! 🤘🏻🔥💪🏼
Also, the CPlay2Air is a fantastic addition for Wireless CarPlay (both Taco and 4Runner). Highly recommend!
My maxima is metallic-flake white pearl and I will now 100% wrap my 4Runner in that matte pearl once I pick her up
Awesome job. A tip even for stock rubber: air down
Whoop whoop! I got my 22 TRD OR mid January for the same reasons Ashley got hers! I'm excited to see the progress! I've never went off road much when I had my Tacoma but have surged through a few upgrades in the 4runner. I'll be taking her overlanding and been preparing her for the Washington Backcountry discovery route. So far; overlays, shifter, tint, raptor lights, Roof basket, vinyl window stickers and tires. Plus camping gear because I will be sleeping in mine.
This weekend consists of putting up molle panels and starting to work on my used rock sliders that I found super cheap. I'm really only here to see Ashley's 4runner..... sorry 😆
Jacque and I say good job Ashlee, keep it coming on adventures
Running the Falken wildpeak at3w, and they have done great so far. Mud, snow, low road noise
Mine were loud as hell and balanced like garbage. They were awesome in snow and rain though
They have a device they made many, many, many years ago for snow and ice. Tire chains lol..
You have to start somewhere, did good for the first time. Always learning even after years of wheeling.
Bro tell her she did a wonderful job she’ll get used to it just more practice definitely recovery gear definitely new tires I’ve got those on my Ford explore and I need to change them big time love the wrap she put on it great color, don’t forget a couple of handheld radios that’s always a good thing to have I just picked up a pair for myself last week midland GXT that I’m adding to my gear I’m not sure if she said she’s gonna put a winch on the front of it but that would be a great idea ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Great job 🦄 congratulation 👍🎊. I think good tires front lockers an on board air and a winch. Then she should be set. 👍🔥🔥💙🦄
Way to go girly!! Good job! 👍
Once you have a complete loss of traction, the locker can no longer engage. You have enable it before you think you’re going to get stuck, and drive in either direction to see it engage in the dash first. It’s a downside of the 4runner that I found out personally the hard way with mine half stuck in a mud puddle washout.
I love watching people beat on their rides it kinda reminds me why I baby my 4runner. OCD
A good set of All-Terrain Tires with 3 peak mountain snowflake ratting!
Glad she finally got the runner out!!
Air compressor and a air down/up kit would be a great idea, as well as a jump box for backwoods jump starting. 👍🏻
Great job Ashlee! Hopefully you didn't break anything on your camera on that tree. I felt that one in my soul.
Tacoma's should come with the 4x4 stick instead of the dial. Just way cooler the way it is on the 4Runner. Love the wrap. Girly enough but still dope AF
That Jeep to the rescue was kinda epic not gonna lie.
IMO 🤷🏾♂️
Nice job Ashlee
that's dope she got a 4Runner! I have a mod idea for your or Ashley's Toyota. I just installed a puddle light kit with ambient footwel lights that integrates into OEM wiring and is compatible with most Toyota vehicle including 4runner. maybe this would be a good mod for her for better visibility at night. It's tied to SmartSense so they fade on when you approach the car or unlock. Your sliders might block some of the light tho.
The stock off road isn't wired for puddle lights. One of the few reasons I opted for the premium
The 4Runner will be mine at the end of this year!!
4Раннер Сила! 4Runner its a Power!
I can not wait to off road on some trails with my 23' SR5 4x4
That pearl wrap is firrrrrrre
She did awesome. Keep it on the road and do a overnight w both the taco n runner 🤙🏾
Good job Ashlee. Good job Teach. Yup !
I like the wheels to be honest. I'd just do tires. Those wheels would look great powder coated black. Maybe some c load general grabber atx stock size unless she wants a lift
You guys are too cool. Enjoyed the video.
Miss you brother! Hope you and the family are doing well 🙏🏼
Dude what did you guys get it for for the price .. out the dealer … I’m gonna get one in 2 months
Great video, awesome looking vehicle, she definitely needs more aggressive tires and could of done without the background music.
Give me your off road driving experience…… None. Lol, love you guy’s.
When you got stuck did you try A-Trac ?
Got a 4x4 SR5 stock and adding rock rails, TRD Exhaust and them black matte TRD wheels what else should i add onto the sr5 4x4 base model
for light to moderate off roading
Love the wrap
Awesome video!
Ashley needs to get out more!
Super Sick Yo!.. 🤘😝
I wanna get the trd pro Tacoma so badddd haha eventually
Did you guys paint her front and rear bumper black?
It’s wrapped
Hell yeah Ashley ! 😂🔥💪🏾
What does a solid color wrap like that cost for a 4Runner..?
Exelente tu video, como todos, muy bueno. Esa mujer es tu novia. ( ella tiene un MINI WORK HORSE. ) Tendrias que hacer un video contado quien es TALON SEI. EXITOS AMIGOTE.
Did you guys air the tires down at all ? If so what PSI ?
Hey @talon sei where did you get those front and rear black bumper covers? Been lookin
They were wrapped with the rest of the 4Runner
Who's here has a crosstrek and trade it in for a 4R
so good
I interested in an iPhone review on how you like it now. Especially you being an Android guy.
How much was the wrap?
Have you tried turning the steering wheel left right while either going forward or backward? Or does that not work? I really don't know
Not in that situation. Sometimes it can help but not in deep snow like that.
@@TalonSei like I said I don't know but now I do. Safe travels!
She did a great job, a few things i thought of for her off roading adventures. cb radio, jump box in case battery dies i know its new but also good to power other things. a winch, so she can hook up and get herself out if needed. i do have a questions though, where to get those shift knobs and do they make them for tacoma. sorry if not right to ask here.
Linked in the description 👍🏻
Talon you still have a subie in your collection?
I mean you still have the cross track
Nope sold that a few months ago
@@TalonSei was wondering, you think you’ll get another subie again?
I just bought the forester wilderness edition.
Last thing we need in CO is another Subaru
@@ZacTexC haha I hear they sell the most there in the us
Finally
Newbie question here... are these trails one way and toss you back out to the main road? or do you have to go to the end and turn around?
Every trail is different, this one happens to be point to point 2 way but it is pretty narrow as certain spots.
All new 4Runners have auto start standard… press lock twice then hold it down on third push.
@13:15
Black out windows Ash
you got a rap before tires?????????..Im not saying anything..lol
A Jeep pulling a 4runner out.....not cool!!
Damn, saved by a Jeep, blasphemy 😂
I just don’t understand why so many people suggest that this 4 runner or Tacoma’s are good off road? I have owned tree Toyotas, unfortunately Toyotas are a foundation to Buil soon, unfortunately stock they suck, the front suspension is absolutely horrible off road, not much different than the minivan suspension, no wheel travel, my first gen bronco was night and day better off road , the jeep is way better off road… solid axles rule, I’m all for independent suspension if it has wheel travel.., and the Tacoma or the 4 runner has very limited suspension travel.
Weird. Always thought of 4Runners as dudes.
This dude loves shouting out running4tacos lolll.
But How you gonna have a support vehicle and neither truck has recovery gear? You should never go out on trails without recovery gear or at least ask whoever you’re wheeling with beforehand if they have recovery gear. But she did great for her first time, now she’s got the off road bug and will def wanna keep off roading
please stay in the east coast.
