I bought the 55 quart lifetime cooler several years back and Ive been extremly happy with it. I put the drinks in the fridge and put 2 big bags of ice in it down in my basement. The next morning, I drain the water and put the cold drinks from the fridge in it, then load it with ice and top off the ice on my way. I have no complaints. It works awesome for the price!
I live in Arizona and I have gotten 4 days worth of ice from a cheap igloo cooler. As long as you pre chill it and drain it frequently you can make it last.
The test criteria Lifetime uses to substantiate their claims are clearly stated on their website. Your test was way short on the ice and was conducted at ridiculously high temperatures.
I just purchased a lifetime 77 qt cooler last week. In order to get the cooler to last the 7 days. You need to pre-chill the cooler. I used dry ice 2 days before my trip. removed the dry ice then put 2 big ice packs on the bottom of the cooler and then frozen water bottles as well then added ice on top of that and my food and more ice and drinks and more ice.I filled it Thursday morning and it is now Monday and still have alot of ice in it. so it is all about the pre chill to get it cold before loading it
When I go hunting, I put in one bag of ice on eve of trip to pre-cool. Then put in refrigerated perishables. After 3 days/2 nights of hunting and 370 mile round trip, I remove the bag of ice and store in my deep freeze for the next trip, and the next. TIP: place iced down cooler off the ground/floor/concrete slab as these media transmit earth heat; use a couple of bricks, 2x4, etc. to rest cooler on. Frankly, this U.S.-made cooler is very close to high-priced imports, yet has the best latches. (Look, Ma! One hand!)
It depends wat kinda ice u use also I review cooler for a living and have probably 100 or so coolers I've done about every u test u can the ice u get for the stores have air in them so it don't last as long as it should it a tactic they use so u buy more ice try to fine shaved ice with not air in the ice I've got 12 days on the 55 quart lifetime with ice with no air in it and 5 day with store bot ice
I have the 28 and 55 qt version. I use mine on a boat in South Florida, direct sunlight, opening and closing it dozens of times a day and i still get 4 days. You did something wrong lol
I don't think you're using yours properly. Plus you don't even show your ice storage technique. My older 55qt, but new gasket version, held ice spectacularly over 5days. Terrible review 👎
They all say "up to" for their day ratings. Your review is on the fringe and you do no product comparison like many other do. For the $100 price range it. Thanks for the review but I will be reviewing other reviewers.

20 pounds of store bought ice won’t last long in any cooler in a 100-115 degree garage
Oh he'll no. Just bought a lifetime 55. Used it all weekend. Best damn cooler in Wally mart.

80-85° F ain't ridiculous, that's a lower than peak summer temperatures and much lower than temperatures in a car.
@@HeyMavDak If someone is testing the manufacturers claims for ice retention then they need to use the same parameters the manufacturer used.

Where can you generally buy ice without air in it?

My 55 lifetime holds ice almost 6 days.
Maybe mine was defective
I had the 55 and 77….if you use block ice and precool then you’ll easily get the 7 days no problem. They are built super well
Did you pre chill the cooler? Were the drinks you put in there cold or room temperature?
Yes to all
My lifetime kept ice for 6 days
