- Thousands of firefighters were battling the Park Fire in Northern California on Saturday that exploded in size, scorching an area about the size of Los Angeles - one of several blazes tearing through the western United States and Canada amid dry, hot and windy conditions. I miss living in Butte County, but after losing everything in the Camp Fire it will never again be my home.
I went there in July 2019 and was suprised how cleaned up it looked and very few buildings were starting to get rebuilt. That was 5 years ago, wonder what it looks like now. Paradise/Butte County could be rebuilt better than ever in the future.
Sorry for your loss. I still tear up seeing pics of my grandparents home.
I came a hair frum buying a home there a few yrs. b4 the fire; SO GRATEFUL I DID NADA....😮😢

2003 San Diego's first wildfire. I helped some friends evacuate the mtns. We drove thru massive walls of flames on each side of a small road. Scary af! I hyperventilated, my friend started Praying, the kids started to cry and the dogs were barking and yelping. Scary af!!
And to think this was intentionally set by someone. What the hell is the matter with these people?

It may seem tragic but it's interesting to watch because of the indigenous culture. Often, a lot of American towns were built by simply learning the trade routes of the indigenous, learning our water systems, trapping, etc and then the Americans simply set fire to the communities of indigenous persons and structural items like homes (teepees, pueblos,etc) and trading posts ...
No regard for the people, property, artifacts etc .... Then built these stick frame homes , stores and etc over the ashes ....

My brother and his wife and her family all lived in Forest ranch. I pray they all got out. Last night he said it was about 300 yards from them.

I’ve worked for Cal Fire for 17 years now and we do control burns every year. There is so much forested area in Ca that the control burns have minimal impact. 100 years of firefighting have actually made the forest worse, overgrown and filled with dead debris.
No, this is what happens when it is so hot and dry for prolonged periods of time due to global warming.
