However 1000$ is too high to be considered bail or jail time at its crossing. Personally I’d think 150$ and below would fall under the same stipulations they have for the 1000$.

Citizens voted for this. If they want to have shoplifting laws enforced, they need to elect new people who will repeal the current laws allowing people to steal below a thousand dollars without fear of jail time.
