    A very in-depth tour of the all new Botnia Targa 41 Hugo, It has the most teak I've ever seen on any Targa and I've been on a few over the years, the storage is phenominal and spacious.
    As with all Targa's the navigational aids are whatever the customer requires and they will accommodate your needs.Targa build all weather boats to last and this latest model is no exception.

    Some nice changes but still classic targa dna! The teak wood work inside is something unique and special they do that by hand at the factory. These boats are pure heavy duty luxury vessels made for boating when everyone else stay in the marine. And it’s sporty to drive over 40 knots in a 41 feet boat with sleeping for 6 that’s awesome!

    Love your enthusiasm, I think this is your style of boat. She not the most stylish boat but her woodwork is beautifully crafted. She about comfort and safety in all weathers. Day boat, weekend boat, maybe a tender to an explorer boat. Not bad owners suite and aft cabin and two heads. She built to last in a traditional way but with modean touchs in particular in the engine room which is nicely laid out with great access.
    I do hope that the sea trial happens soon..

    Well I must say, Hugo, you're enthusiasm for this boat is entirely infectious.It's a terrific step forward for Targa but I also think that they're are exceptionally lucky to have such a genuine and stalwart advocate (and rightly so imo) of their vessels and it's about time that they ...erm...sponsored you with one lol? Thoroughly enjoyed this vid, particularly when you (again, rightly) said ..'..it's the little things like that, that just make you feel..a bit smug if you're a Targa owner...'. In my dreams of billionairedom, this boat would absolutely 100% be my tender. Reality dictates that the closest I'd feasibly get to either this or my custom Bering 120 is my grandson's rubber ring - sigh. See you next time mate and all the best

    Looks like a proper boat and nice quality. If it does 40 knots with 440 stern drives then it may well do 45 knots with IPS 650s, I would have thought, which seems like quite immense speed. And possibly no faffing about trying to find petrol for UK boaters unlike many of the recent outboard-shod SUV boats. The Scandinavians don't do things by halves.
    The cockpit looks god for having minimal overhang from the flybridge, so people can enjoy the sun back there.

    Lovely and functional boat! Hugo, I think that "shower" in the aft heads is more in the way of a handheld bidet (a feature I saw in lodgings in Brazil and didn't understand at first) and/or toilet washer. There's one alongside the toilet in the forward heads, too, even though it has an enclosed shower.

    To the extent anyone are buying boats anymore, this one looks to be the Targa which could finally make a dent in the huge Med market.
    The other ones are great. Can be used year around with some care. But they are bit stuffy when it's hot, humid and sticky. This one, with the much larger side doors, rear door, 3 opening hatches, flybridge designed from the get-go for Bimini, joystick at rear, sunbeds instead of seating upfront and big seating space in the rear, Seakeeper... It's a Med boat now. A "proper" one, even :)

    Thanks for a fine tour of an exceptional boat. Targas exude competence and this one looks like it would be a grand boat for cruising in all kinds of places. The only compromise to me anyway is that the forward berth is pushed so far into the bow that space for the heads of occupants is quite narrow so there may be too much togetherness for some. But a fine yacht for sure.

      40+ knots and shafts are, for god reasons, not a common combination in sub 50 foot boats. (Not that 40+ knots are common, period in boats longer than 50 feet.....)
      Targas may look a bit like long distance, 4 season cruising jobs, designed for reliability and low maintenance for infinite miles. But they are built more for performance, than for meandering around indefinitely.

  • @lovice
    @lovice 5 месяцев назад +1

    Because of that huge bathing platform, you will need to pay 45ft sized mooring fee even though it supposes to be a 41 footer? All the so called clever interior designs to make a modern motorboat more roomy and practical wouldn't mean much when that humongous bathing platform can simply add 4 more feet of total length without contributing to any addition interior living space... Why can't motorboat adopt sailing boat style folding transom?

    • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 Месяц назад

      "Why can't motorboat adopt sailing boat style folding transom?"
      This one has sterndrives poking out behind the transom. Hence the hatch in the swim platform to inspect/clear them.
      I suppose with IPS you may have a point. Although IPS is so expensive, I doubt you'll recover the mooring difference unless you're home port is Monte Carlo.
      This particular boat is 13-14 meters. You'd be in a 15 meter bay almost anywhere, either way.
      But for boats right at plus-minus the common 10 or 12 meter boundaries, perhaps a folding transom could be a selling point for IPS.
      Another issue is: With motorboats of this size, lots of people like carrying a dinghy on the platform while underway.

    • @lovice
      @lovice Месяц назад

      @@paulnorman8274 Thanks for your reply.
      If it has sterndrives under the transom, then why not design it like sailboats with sterndrives? I mean why can't the cockpit be located on top of where the transom is currently. So the salon would have a couple of feet more space inside, hence much more internal useable space, or indeed just simply a much larger cockpit is surely more useable than a transom...
      Then for the swimming platform, just like almost all sailboat, why not just have a folding one at the back of the cockpit. That will be just as useful when needed, but without paying the extra 5 feet of length when mooring.
      As for dinghy, like sailboats of the same size, everyone needs a dinghy. But for a small boat like this to dedicate a proper platform at the stern is unthinkable if it's a sailboat. Why can't motorboats of this size have davits like all the sailboats of the same size have, which will not occupy any length of the boat.

    Who really wants a stern drive? Or two, it's mega cash services like four engines. Especially VOLVO PARTS. Lets be realistic, does this company never fit shafts to their craft ? • @paulnorman8274
      @paulnorman8274 Месяц назад +1

      With straight shafts, the engines would take the aft cabin. The v-drive probably would swell, with one of those fitted.
      And handling at 40+ knots is not close, with shafts. While not raceboats, Targa minds performance and handling quite a lot. It's hardly surprising they use a driveline common to racers and other performance craft, rather than trawlers and pilot hulls.
      It's also a million dollar boat. Likely moored in neighbourhood where people have million dollar boats. Servicing the sterndrives, is unlikely to be the main cost driver for a typical owner.
