@@mrand3r50n3I have an old Contessa sailing yacht. As old age has arrived I would like a motor yacht to explore Greece and the Eastern Med. It will be far from new, my bank manager has told me and I have to live with her 😂. Nice to dream though.
Nope, I didn't, it's actually called Nord Star 49+ SCY and it's even more expensive than a Sargo 45 or a Targa 46. Axopar 45 is the only "reasonably" priced one out of the 4, although smaller than the other Finnish manufacturer's flagship models.
Each of Alex's reviews,, including this one, are gems. Not that reviewing a boat like this diminishes his efforts. I can't afford a boat of this size and class, but I still find joy in knowing it exists.
Thanks Jack. Much appreciated. Like you, I suspect I may need to wait 20 years until they start appearing on the used market at my kind of budget. In the meantime, it's all kinds of fun, having a job that enables me to helm boats of this quality.
Just got to go on one (at a boat show not at sea unfortunately) at the Seattle boat show this past Friday. It was mine and my kids favorite boat at the show. Cool to see it in action on this video. If I was to win the powerball this would be the family boat for the Pacific Northwest.
Absolutely love this boat and the 'hidden cabin" ! Just wondering if you could possibly make that a"non wet bath" ? Other than that for, that is the perfect boat ! Thank you !!
Thanks for the tour. These Nordic wheelhouse yachts including Sargo have great toughness and performance but some design and layout quirks. The berth in the owner's cabin forward would be quite unpleasant for some folks -- it is tapered at the forward end so bedmates would have their heads within one or two inches of each other. A bit too much togetherness. Second, the top 8" of the owner's berth is tucked under the foredeck with nearly zero space above your noggin. No sitting up to read a book or watch TV, bruises galore if you wake up suddenly and try to sit up. The cabin squeezed under the dinette is clever but the access is awkward and I could see it feeling tomb-like to sleep in there.
So what’s the recommendation on IPS vs sterndrive? I guess I don’t get the appeal of IPS given it makes the boat more aft heavy and seems like it adds a lot of cost (upfront and ongoing) but maybe I’m not as familiar with sterndrive downsides. Also I hope they offer a small fly option (like the original Targa 37) and not only a massive on that totally changes the boat. Just 2-3 seats and ability to sit at elevated aft end of coach roof would be enough
You need to show from the front and back , look at the dash boards. From where your show it, doesn't show me anything that I would like to see and the performance!
Sargo or Targa, what a decision? So I asked my bank manager, he said neither.
So Axopar then?

You forgot to mention Nord Star

Bank manager is a pro?? How could he know that~ What a stupid comment is!

This is my perfect boat with the larger optioned fuel tanks. ❤️🇬🇧

Wish I could afford this beauty....
I like that little tug boat like vessel at the beginning of your video 😂
Great sea trial and review Alex, thankyou 👍

Lobe the Sargo. This or the Nordstar 31 would work for me
Great product, no doubt.
I would like to see if not an optional fly bridge, then at least the entire roof converted to a fly lounge like on the Targa 46.
Instead of IPS or sterndrives, how about diesel outboards?

I’d choose a MJM 43
Very nice but would always buy a Botnia Targa over a Sargo.....Sargo simply copy Botnia but are not quite up there yet with Bosnia’s build quality.
Interesting standpoint. I've often agonised over the Targa v Sargo debate - and after 20 years of driving both, I would still struggle to split them.
My question is. Who are these reviews for? 99% of people watching can't afford the boats😂😂

Adjust the seat !!!!
You are being too modest, you are a big guy at 6,1😅, i am only 5,6
Nice video except for the load mouth boys in aft end. Owners or not they should have better manners.
It’s a Caravan mate
Then I'm definitely a caravanner!
