The Director said that the reveal that Miles is the first anomaly is a meta-commentary on what led to the creation of the first Black Spider-Man. Some fans believe that Miles doesn't deserve his power or belong in the mask.
Which proves that the real villain is Miguel O’Hara.
@@B-Dad Antagonist, not villian. The Spot has a clear vendetta against Miles & wants revenge, making him the main villain.
Jodie Whittaker faced the same discrimination as Doctor Who.

Gwen's universe is a bit like a mood ring; I'm not sure if its inhabitants can see the colour changes, though; maybe they just feel blue or see life through pink coloured glasses and don't notice that everything else is also following their mood.
Gwen's universe emulates the style her comic books are done in. Most of her solo comics are done with an watercolor painting style. Since watercolor paintings can technically be decades or even centuries old and still be typically consider "wet" and not fully dry. So the subtle shifts already had a sort of mood ring vibe and they just took that to the next step for the animation.
I'm sure everyone knows by now but: Spiderham, Trex Spider-Man (Pter Ptarker), Peter Parkedcar, and many others were not invented for the movie.
They are existing Marvel characters, which is amazing
Remarkably few Spider-People were invented *for* the film. Far fewer than most people would think.
Very few of these were invented for the movie (Spider-UK 3 and the musician Spider-Man are two confirmed new versions)
Good to know.
Miguel isn't a bad guy. He is an antagonist for Miles, but he is doing what he believes is right.
Technically he isn't a vampire. The serum that gave him his powers mutated his DNA. So he has fangs and claws.
In the comics Miguel got his powers when spider DNA was added to a gene splicing machine he was using (it was intended to kill/disfigure him, but it worked out for Miguel).
Not sure what Miguel is injecting himself with in this movie since it isn't directly explained and it has no basis in the comics (some people have been calling it rapture, but rapture was ingested in the comics, not injected; also Miguel was never really addicted to rapture).
Something about Miguel’s backstory in this movie didn’t jibe. I think he is lying about something.
in this movie he injects himself to suppress his spider dna so it doesn't take over. He is more spider than many other spidermen, having fangs, etc. Just like Toby is more spider than other spidermen, since he can actually produce and shoot webs and many others can't. @@vkdragonfire2123
@@vkdragonfire2123He wasn't addicted but he needed it to live, or so he thought before he found out Tyler Stone unknowingly revealed he was his father and said the dose that he gave Miguel worked only temporarily.
Donald Glover showing up as The Prowler and meeting Miles is not just an MCU reference. It's a full circle moment as he was the inspiration for Miles Morales in the first place. Before Holland was picked, there was a grass roots campaign to make Donald Spider-Man in the next movie and when people flipped their shit, the guys writing the Ultimate Spider-Man series decided to create Miles. Its a super cool, deep moment for Spider-Man fans.
Not quite. It wasn't Tom Holland, it was when Andrew Garfield was going to be Spider-Man. But otherwise yes exactly!
They wrote Miles in 2008 after Barack Obama became POTUS. In 2011 Miles Morales was in publication.
@@joshuavelo4265 thanks for the clarification. My brain was trying to tell me the timing was off.
@@aTofuJunkieThe conversation started in 2008 because of Obama, but it WAS Donald Glover for the inspiration. The writer himself confirmed it. He was watching the first episode of season 2 of Community and Troy Barnes (Glover) is wearing Spider-Man pajamas. That's when he knew and started making Miles. A great Easter egg is Into to Spider-verse when Miles first goes to meet Uncle Aaron, Aaron is watching the Community scene in the background.
@@IDiggPattyMayonnaise Right? So you're telling that no black people existed wearing Spider-Man Pyjamas or T-Shirts before Donald Glover. So unless a Black Man isn't famous they don't exist...Got It. A very convenient story by Brian Michael Bendis. He's clearly has walked outside his house seeing 100s of Black Men and Women wearing Spider-Man Gear before.
I love how much little details in these movies tell a greater story. Things like since Jeff died in Earth 42, Mileswould have spent more time with his mother and so his accent is more closely related to hers then what we see in our Miles.
Still the best film of 2023.
You weren’t impressed by The Barbie Movie??
Miguel has claws and fangs as part of his powers, just as Miles has his invisibility and sting; not all Spider-People have the same powers.
That & in that 50% of his entire DNA is literally Spider DNA were as most of the other Spidermen had their DNA altered just enough to give them their powers. Also he was gene spliced too so he's literally built different.
@@GeneralxGrievousx He wasn't gene spliced at birth; he was in his 20s when the gene splicing happened.
They give Miles everything in the comic books. He's got a anime beam saber now. They just keep giving him anything and everything
That bagel really hit the spot
That's brilliant.
Well done.
Efff uuuu hahaha 😂👏
Canon event occurring
If you've seen Everything Everywhere All at Once, then you'd know bagels are the key to all multiverses.
Fun fact: The bagel thing wasn't planned by anyone involved with the film. A Spider-Man comic writer emailed them and came up with the connection and backstory. He didn't even get credit
Also Peter Parker usually works as a photographer, Clark Kent works as a reporter.
There aren't that many comics? I'm sorry, but you have no idea how many comics there are. Spider-Man was created in 1962; he has over 500 comics and 800 issues, and still going. Most of these characters are from the comics; a few are original characters for the film that were mostly in the background, but most of these are from the comics; there's over 100 Spider-Man.
38:45 And most people, for some reason, miss Miles plan or say, "Why didn't h turn invisible?". Miles didn't turn invisible because he wanted to be followed; he led all the Spidey's out of the building so he could use the machine to go home. That was his plan. And what Miles did to Miguel was absorb power from his suit and venom blast him.
42:15 And no, the bracelet that Hobie gave to Gwen was built with the pieces he was stealing from Miguel Dimension; he dropped his bracelet when he quit.
I do believe he meant individual character books.
I love all the tiny details in the film, like when Miles/Spot are having the flashback about how he brought a spider from an alternate universe, it's mere inches away from Miles in Earth 42 before snatched up. Miles is meant to be spiderman, just not THIS Miles.
Also, when you watch the first film, you can that are miles was meant to be the next Prowler. The scene where he runs into 1910 Peter Parker, Miles colors ( when they spidey sense each other) are purple and green like the Prowler. But then they changed to match the blue and red of Spider-man. This actually makes sense when you think of Miles actions at the beginning of the movie, and how he was doing things to try to get kicked out of school, he was tagging, he was really idolizing his uncle.
It's also goes a long way to showing how Miles was able to get away from all the spider people in this movie. Are Miles moves more like the prowler than he does Spider-Man. And we also see that Miles 42 moves more like Spider-Man than he does the prowler. This is shown when he hangs from the ceiling similar to what we saw Peter B Parker do when he was introduced in this movie. It's also why in the first movie he says that he does better on the ground and running than he does and swinging
To “be that guy” many of the spider-men were from comics- Peter Porker, Spectacular Spider-ham was my first comic book back in the 80s.
When Mrs movies said that's what she said & explained it
I died of laughter 😂🤣
and she's thinking about it being a curse, and I'm thinking about it being a power!
There really was a Spider-Ham comic back on the 80's, the Spider-verse storyline and this movie revived the character
I loved reading the Spider-Ham comics, as well as Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew!
I don
t think Miguel is the bad guy. He's just working off of his experience trying to save people.
There are very few SiderPeople/Animals that aren't in the comics. Every SpiderHero in the foreground of any shot is in the comics. Which, I know, sounds crazy... but we're talking about multiple writers, artists, and creators over the last 60 years! And yes, T-rex, horse, and car Spider... representatives are all comic book canon!
Love the reaction!
Mayday Parker is "real" too... though I'm not sure it's THAT version. There's a grown up version
Yeah, Mayday is a real character and the baby isn't exactly her. Just a sort of shout out but I've heard that the grown Mayday will be in the next movie.
I used to love her short lived comics back in the day.
You'd be surprised 90% of the Spider-Men you see are and have been seen in publications.
Spider-Ham has existed since 1985, long before Simpsons
Miguel O'Hara isn't a vampire. He's a genetically modified human who gave himself powers.
He's actually Morbius
If they follow Miguel's comic origin (which I do kind of doubt based on this movie), Miguel didn't give himself the powers. He was trying to cure himself of a super-addictive drug his evil boss hooked him on by "resetting" his DNA in a gene splicing machine, but Miguel's jealous coworker Aaron Delgado mixed in spider DNA and cranked the machine up to 11 in an attempt to kill him. The result was his unique spider-powers. Fun fact - Miguel was the first version of Spider-Man to have organic webbing when his comics debuted in 1992.
Mrs movies steals every thumbnail.
Her expressions are priceless.
She's basically the reason everyones watching
Pavitr Prabhakar was made up for the movies. However, Peter Porker the Sporktacular Spider-Ham was not a Simpson's joke, he is from Earth-8311, and first appeared in August 1983. Max Borne (The guy with a Helmet and Robotic Arms that Miles hides on the back of) aka Spider-Man 2211 (yeah, he's from the year 2211, meaning he is from 112 years farther in the future than Miguel) is from Earth 9500, and comes from a 1995 crossover where Miguel met Peter. Spider-Cat is from Earth 616, during the Spider-Island Arc, in 2011. Margo Kess aka Spider-Byte (Frito eating Cyberspace user) first appeared in 2018. Patrick O'Hara aka Web Slinger and his horse Widow both first appeared in 21014. Pter Ptarker Spider-Rex (he was born a Pteranodon) was introduced in the comics in 2022 (pretty sure as a sort of lead-in to the movie), he and Norrannosaurman swapped bodies after a meteor with radioactive spiders crashed near them and they woke up not only swapped but in colorful costumes (yeah, not gunna lie, that is contrived). LEGO Peter Parker fist appeared as LEGO Spider-Man in 2012. Peter Parkedcar aka the Spider-Mobile the character first appeared in 2015, but the buggy shaped Spider-Mobile as an invention first appeared in 1973.
Here is a kicker for you. Hobart "Hobie" Brown was not Spider-Punk until this movie... he was, however, the ORIGINAL Prowler, later replaced by an unnamed Cat Burglar (who originally appeared as the Cat Burglar in 1965, but wouldn't steel Hobie's Tech and be the Prowler until 1980), Eric Cross (1995), Rick Lawson (1997), Aaron Davis (2011, yeah, Uncle Aaron didn't become the Prowler until Miles was becoming Spidey), and a clone of Hobie in 2016... this was the first appearance of Miles as the Prowler.
Fact is, most of the Spideys are actually based on ideas that were already existing, either from What If? Comics, What The? Comics, costumes Peter has worn in the comics or cartoons or video games, or from exploration of the Spider-Verse in the past decade. Even many of the ones made for the movie are based off concepts (Peter has worn the Spider-Punk Costume; the Amazing Bagman can be seen which is when Peter's costume was ruined, so he wore a Paper Bag over his head and borrowed a spare costume from his buddy, Johnathan 'Johnny' Storm the Human Torch of the Fantastic Four; every cartoon that has ever had Spider-Man in it had their version appear in this movie, including Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, Spectacular Spider-Man, Amazing Spider-Man, and even the little Spidey and his Amazing Friends one...
Couple corrections: Pavitr/Spider-Man India was not made up for the movies - he's existed since 2004. Also Hobie Brown was Spider-Punk when he appeared in the Spider-Verse comics in 2014.
I saw this on a date and the lady I was with actually said "I used to think that too" after spot said his holes can take him anywhere.
I'm sorry wut?
I gotta challenge you Mrs. Movies, regular Fritos go hard. What you do is make you some chili and get the Fritos scoops, even the standard ones get the job done. Its more utility than standalone snack imo.
If you're saying that plain ole Fritos are to chips what "eggshell" is to paint, you're mistaken. Fritos have a very strong oil flavor that restaurant style tortilla chips don't. You can even make "Frito Pie" with yellow tortilla chips and it works better for flavor. Thing is, you have to get scoops of either variety to have the "easy to eat" thing.
Fritos are inferior chips, for flavor or as a vehicle for other things.
The color change in the beginning is an editing choice to represent the change of emotions happening in the moment. The cooler blues becoming warmer pinks. Its something done in both comics, as well as lighting/filter changes in film
Like a mood ring to represent Gwen & her father’s feelings
@@packedentertainment2866 Exactly!
The mood ring vibe is an expansion on what Gwen's universe is like in her solo comics. Her books are done in a watercolor painting style to reflect how fluid he take on life is and real watercolor paintings can be decades or even centuries old but still be considered as being "wet" instead of fully dry, thus the flowing change.
@jessecortez9449 That second part is a cool fact! Thank you for that!
There are actually that many comics. All of the spider men from this are featured in the comics. They may not have their own run but they all had major appearances.
"Major" might be stretching things a bit. Some of these characters appeared in ads for Hostess snack treats. But I agree that the vast majority of Spidermen featured in this movie had a prior existence in some medium, which is mind-blowing!
my holes aren't a curse, they're the answer
"that's what she said" 💀💀💀
spider-ham is a real comic
spider-rex is from the comics too. i know at least one was done for the movie as a cameo by the guy who did music but pretty much everyone else are from actual comics although some are one offs.
Peter Porker pre-dates the Simpsons reference in comics.
You got my like the second I heard that first joke. LOL
Fun fact, Gwen's universe's colors are based on emotion mostly
The amount of work they had to put into this especially just to get all these different Spider-Man because every single Spider-Man that they included are actual Spider-Man's from different comics throughout the years they put a lot of effort in this even though not a lot of spiders got screen time but if you really stopped and paused at times you can just see how many they included I mean they even included the live action Spider-Mans in this movie Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's Spider-Men can be briefly seen, and a full live-action Donald Glover appears as the Prowler which is awesome because everyone thought Donald Glover was going to be playing Spider-Man I just didn't end up that way but playing the prowler in a live-action film they need to make that happen.
15:27 to be fair The Spot also said his holes could take him anywhere
*defiantly marches to the kitchen to get a mini bag of Fritos 😐
Across the Spider-Verse quickly became The Dark Knight of all animated movies.
ruclips.net/video/3w19SAl1OBQ/видео.html may I ask what name of the movie in video opinion at 0:12
Miles is the only kid I know, who gets grounded more than Butters from South Park.😂
I don't buy Miguel O'Hara's "Canon" BS. My core belief as someone who has watched the growth of comics into movies is that "Canon" does not exist, it never has and never will. These are stories re-telling themselves, regularly. Isn't Spider- Gwen an anomaly? Aren't so many of them, really?
This sounds like an echo of, the Sacred Timeline, which I approve of.
Effectively, with the God of Stories stuck hanging out in the Tree of Life, we easily have bundles of universes, reflecting Comic books, TV and movies. I like the idea of multi-verses of Multi-Verses!
Miguel in some ways operates like the TVA, imposing "canon events" instead of Sacred Timeline.
Perhaps, our Miles, having a cross-timeline with his Spider of Other Origin , could be considered, an Incursion, as well?
I don't know, or care, just bring me quality and these two movies have been the highest of quality.
Miles is the only kid I know, who gets grounded more than Butters from South Park.
Donald Glover also voices Miles' Uncle, who was the Prowler.
Mahershala Ali voices Uncle Aaron. Donald Glover played Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming which is why he is locked up as the prowler. But he doesn’t voice any other characters in the movie.
But he did voice Miles Morales from Ultimate Spider-Man
This was so fucking good in theaters. The ending cliffhanger was so well done. Everyone in the theater was like "WTF". Top notch sequel.
13:22 ...Missus face be like: The F is he talking now? I better play ball...🤣🤣
Gwens dad leaving the police force doesnt break the canon. The canon event is "a police captain close to spiderman will die from falling rubble" so the fact he quit and is no longer captain means someone else will die who holds that position
Also I never understood why miles didn't realize that wasn't his mother 😅 different hairstyle completely different eye colors one has brown eyes , one has green eyes
ooh, I didn't notice. I don't notice RL people's eye colors, even my wife's. It's a detail I just don't observe nor file away for recollection.
Also there's changes in the room. That Miles also didn't notice, but they're still slight changes like instead of having boxing gloves he has a speed bag. Showing that miles is still the same interest but it's just slightly different
“That’s what she said” 😂😂😂😂
When people see fangs, they always think vampire, never spider. Not even when it's a literal Spider-Man.
theory time here but do we know prowler miles will be a villain. could prowler be a vigilante hero in earth 42? i think miles was supposed to be bitten on earth-42 before the spider jumped dimensions. that's why it bit miles in his world. it was fated to bite miles morales and that was the closes it could do. so earth-42 miles is supposed to be a hero and he's redeemed his uncle, taken on the mantle, and is fighting back against the villains running rampant
Artbook already confirmed 42 Aaron and Miles are vigilantes
Great reaction troops love you guys and your adult jokes 😂
Best movie of 2023. Hands down.
Miguel O'Hara confused disrupting Cannon events with incursions like in Doctor Strange multiverse of madness. Spider-Man 2099 didn't caused the collapse of the universe because he disrupted Cannon events that Universe collapse because Miguel replace the Miguel of that Universe causing the collapse. You can replace other versions of yourself only if there's only one of you in that universe or if you're not an important character to the overall universe. The Miguel he replaced wasn't Spider-Man but he is the only Spider-Man of his universe and two important not to be there so it caused the collapse of the universe he went into. Characters like gamora could travel to other timeline because what purpose of the MCU Universe already have been done and Gamora's purpose in her own 2014 Universe could not happen because her Thanos dies and it wouldn't collapse because the universe cost corrects. Perhaps the TVA erased it either way it was dealt with and she was able to stay in the present 616 MCU universe. In multiverse of madness Doctor Strange couldn't leave his Universe because he was too important to the MCU and Christina couldn't come to this universe because there's already a Christina Palmer in MCU universe.
Ok you got Rachel Dratch on 1 sentence.. that’s impressive!
Dratch has a very unique voice and cadence so pretty familiar to people, especially those of a certain age pre streaming when SNL was extremely popular. They didn't get Andy Samberg though, that's would've been crazy. Even I had to look it up and I'm constantly watching Brooklyn Nine Nine
@@IDiggPattyMayonnaise that would be my generation. I grew up during the Will Ferrell Chris Katan, Finnese Mitchell days of SNL. They were legendary.

probably my favorite spider-man movie to date now
Majority of the spider are real. Only a couple was invented for the movie but all the main spiders was real spidermen
Spider- Ham is a real comic
Nobody told me this movie was going to be in two parts.
These spiderman movies are so well made
not spider-pig, spider-ham!
these are actually all real spider-men! (very few that were original for the movie)
I love that Miles isn’t an anomaly. He’s the exception. The spider wasn’t suppose to bite him, so his story doesn’t need to follow the traditional norms.
Spider-Man India was a real comic
Gonna change my name to John Spiderman
Spider-ham is from the comic's.
Ma’am ima need you to try some Fritos with Valentina hot sauce and lemon….. your mind has been changed, you’re welcome
It's spider ham not spider pig
Spider-Ham, surprised you didn’t get the 4K. Looks pristine on my oled.
Omg y’all should watch the Mitchell’s Vs the machines
Some who’ve worked on this film worked on that one as well!!
You got have the Fritos with the bean dip
When I commented this I never thought y’all would actually pick it 😍😍😍😍😍
The original Vulture was Isidoro Scarlotti, an Italian Scientist.
Probably the best animated movie in existence.
Theory: Miguel never broke the canon, he occupied the space in a universe he was already dead in, if he broke the canon that version of him should have been saved. Him occupying that space upset the balance of that universe.
This is my fav movie of the year
Just noticed the Mrs' new teeth. They look great
Only good Fritos are the original (with hot sauce) and especially the Scoops.
“Fritos suck.” …unsubscribed.
I have a personal theory that the canon-events is kind of a tongue in cheek reference to the fanboys who get all uppity whenever a new Spiderman doesn't follow the exact story beats as the past Spidermen. Like when Tom Hollands Spiderman first came out they were all upset about his version not experiencing the same trauma that the past ones experienced.
Fritos do suck 🤣🤣
Miguel is my favorite character cuz he's cool and hot
miles is an anomaly. he has a different canon.
How many 🤠 hats do you own? 😊
A lot of those spider people y’all saw are actual characters with comics and/or shows. The T. rex, webslinger, Ben Reilly( Peter Parker’s clone), ps4/5 Peter AND miles( wife was right, Miguel is wrong), and Jess. If you go back to that scene when all the spider people were around miles and Miguel, the small one that talked is Spider-Man from the 2009 show. And the black, red and blue one with the yellow eyes is from Spider-Man unlimited (1999 rip off of the Miguel because they didn’t want to copy Batman beyond). Spider-Man India is a comic character too. That might be a design specifically for the movie but it’s close.
Another amazing movie with a similar style? Nemona
I believe that Gwen's major canon event was the loss of her best friend. Not to say that could be the only major event in her life, but I don't believe loosing her dad is implied to be one.
Anyway, I really like the story but think the animation was just too busy at times.
major events:
losing love interest
losing a police captain
losing an uncle after being selfish with the powers
minor variations on each are possible, but they are not interchangeable
35:56 “ThEre’s Not tHat mAnY CoMics” 🥴
They’re still making them lol
Yeah comics as in Series. Are you dense?
are you going to do "into the spider verse?"

The score is fantastic, and I predict it will win the Academy award for best score.
This move is incredible until it gets to the "spiderverse" portion of the film, then the writing goes really downhill. This is a great movie, but it definitely isnt as good as ITSV
Spider-Man aka Peter Parker was never black.
Lol what?
yea miles morales is black...not peter parker......obviously
@@xavvierr5544 Stupid woke crap obviously.
I don't know if people like you were dropped as babies.
