Keep those shelves- you will be amazed of how much stuff you will accumulate and need vertical storage! Free and functional!

I was laughing when you said why would you staple into the wall because 8 years in i literally staple EVERYTHING to my classroom walls. You have to when you have barely any boards and lots of anchor charts and tools lol. Its the best they never fall down.

Always keep a Mr.Clean magic eraser! This is my 3rd year in kindergarten and a magic eraser is a life saver! Especially if you have a kiddo that likes to color on walls or tables!

I hate it when teachers leave stuff on the walls, bulletin boards, or in cabinets. 😤
New teachers shouldn’t have to do the extra work of taking it all down.
Congratulations on the teaching job! Your first year will be tough, but don’t be afraid to ask all the questions or get help from others at your school! ❤️

From a teacher of 35+ years, you can never have enough shelves and storage. It might look so nice and clean but you will be amazed how much stuff you will gather and how fast it will appear. Also if you can find a 4 drawer file free or cheap, grab it! Hope you enjoy teaching as much as I did, still miss it after 20 years! Try to enjoy it, the time passes incredibly fast.

Goo Gone or Oops may take off the residue on the Whiteboard and door. Or just try cleaning it with cleaner, as the tape residue may come off with it! We used Dawn Powerwash on the walls in my classroom. They were marked on as well. Can't wait for more setup vlogs!

My classroom was a hot mess when I first went in there. Left over materials, sticky walls, tape reside etc. Goo gone, dawn, and a painter scraper helped out tremendously. Looking forward to more videos.

I promise you, your teacher toolbox will come in so handy. My teacher toolbox is a lifesaver! :) :) Good luck for your very first year of teaching, enjoy every moment of every day and soak up every special moment. Kindergarten is by far the best grade to teach and you will literally see how they develop and grow. It is such a rewarding grade to teach. I love my kindergarteners. :)

When you want to pick up staples off the floor, use a magnet. I always have a magnet near when I take down bulletin boards.

Definitely keep those book shelves until you know you don’t need the storage/have anywhere else to put them in your classroom. Also once more teachers come back on campus to set up, you might be able to see if other teachers are getting rid of any furniture from their classrooms. Just a tip!

Love that your brothers came to give you a hand. ❤️
I hope you kept the shelves- at least for your first year. Then you will really know if you need them.
I bought my teacher tool box at Marshall’s. Its white & the clear drawers are big. They have different sizes too- 9 drawer and I forget the other one. I tagged you on a tiktok video so you can see it😊

Lemon essential oil works to get any sticky stuff, sticker residue, or the like off of many things!! It’s natural and smells great too! ☺️

With the toolbox they tend to come kinda scratched up. So spray painting them is a good idea. Also the drawers on mine were stuck at times so I sanded them on the sides and voila all good.

This will be my fifth year using the teacher toolbox and I spray painted mine gold last year. It does come in handy and my students are at an age that their teeth are coming out, so I always have a drawer with plastic teeth to put their teeth in and it hangs around their neck. Also use a drawer for bandaids.

    1. Sorry the previous teacher left the room looking like this! Its not very professional in my opinion to leave a room like this. You leave a room like you found it, hopefully clean. Goo Gone, magic erasers, and ask your Custodian to look at the walls. They should have something to clean walls and fix staple holes.
