Thank you for posting this! I am no teacher yet, I am only 13, but I know that secondary education is what I’m going into for college, and I love watching school teacher vlogs to see the “inside scoop.” Thanks a bunch!
Just a friendly tip: if you have a cricut you can save your powerpoint slides as a jpeg. Then, upload to cricut as a print then cut, print, laminate and then use your cricut to cut :) *keep in mind the actual printing space will be minimized a bit due to the cricut margins*
Will be a first year 6th grade ELAR teacher, so Happy I found your channel. There is a lot of amazing elementary content on here but it’s such a breath of fresh air finding middle school teachers🩵
that grading scale is frowned upon now. The new wave in most of the US is mastering learning or equitable grading. We will see how that goes as it has pros and cons.
I just found yot channel, I teach 5th grade(all subjects) but ELA and Science(as well as religion(teach in a Catholic School). Loking forward to following you. Alicia from CT
Hi, this will be my first year teaching! I have never seen the hot glue gun trick for hanging things on the wall. Will it pull the paint off when I go to take it down at the end of the year? I assume not, but just wanted to confirm before I started hot gluing things! Also, I have never seen the matte spray paint trick. Thanks for sharing!
This is already such a nice classroom. I am going to be a teacher in Germany next year. Finally. So these type of videos really motivate me to keep on studying for my teaching exams this fall. I am just a bit confuses about the grading system you use, isn’t that a big jump from an F to the others?
Glad it was helpful! Keep pushing, it’s challenging but so worth it if you find the right fit for you. And basically anything below a 60 is failing (F). They can get below 50 on their classwork throughout the quarter but their final grade can’t be lower than a 50. In that case, which isn’t often, we would just put a note that the students actual average was below a 50! Either way they get an F 🤷♀️ it is kinda weird!
@@jess_8ch Thank you, I will. Teaching and coming up with lessons is my passion. Though your grading system seems to be a little different to here in Germany. Generally, to pass one needs to get over the 40-45% bench mark (for languages). Though, the grades is given in numerical numbers from 1-6 (in some states it is more differentiated to 1.3, 1.5 etc too). It is also not the best and criticized every now and then.
I just want to let you know in your 10 drawer cart with your missing work you have your science extras and ELA extras backwards so it doesn’t make the full leaf. Though I don’t really know if it bothers you. It’s looks amazing though!!
I had a bird fly in my classroom this year with my students! We freaked out, cleared the classroom and another teacher came to get it out😂😂😂 I feel you on the bird situation!
That’s a good idea!! I feel so bad bc I lost track a little bit last year. They still always got a little candy on their birthday but I didn’t always remember to put on calendar!!
I’m going to middle school after being home schooled for a year and I’m behind in math my school starts sometime next month or so bc I’m really scared and my mom got mad at me so do you have any tips for having a good relationship with your teachers?? (coming from a 5th going into 6th grader with social anxiety)
Be yourself! Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Take advantage of extra opportunities to get support (working lunches, clubs, study halls). Stay true to who you are and you will make true friends! You got this ❤️
Can you please show your Science alphabet? I'm a first year teacher and I will be teaching 6th grade Math and Science. I'm nervous, I'm not sure where to start. 😅
Yes….proud of their work, or work that they are proud of. If they interpret it otherwise, I don’t care, as long as they feel seen, heard and loved in my room.

I wish I had a cricut!! 😭😭
I love teaching ready and science together. The scientific method and the writing process go hand in hand. Have a great year!
Love your classroom theme! Definitely saw some resources I’m going to incorporate into my high school English classroom. ❤
Hope you have a great year! ❤️
I would love my Juno to be fixed onto the wall like that!

Middle is the best!! ❤
I’ve been looking for a 6th grade/middle school classroom set up! I feel like they’re all elementary which is different than middle school lol
Very nice setup! Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah, unfortunately we don’t get much say!! Would love to see how that goes and wouldn’t mind trying something new!
