I have these bars and love them! The 45° angle of the Jones Bars were a little too extreme for me. The angle of these seems to hit The Sweet Spot. On my Surly ogre I run them with the Positive rise for my bikepacking set up for a little more upright position and I'll flip them over to the negative rise for a more aggressive position when I'm using the bike for mountain biking.
I bought these for my fat bike...had my LBS order them and when I picked them up the general manager says "these are a lot like the Jones Bars" which they have several of hanging on the wall. I replied "yeah but they cost 1/3 as much."
even with 30km, my hand feels pain and numbness with a flat bar, I tested my friend's gravel with this type of bar, and man I love it, my hand feels more comfortable, I think it's called Swallow Bar? or maybe I'm wrong
Thanks! I really appreciate and enjoy how succinct, yet detailed all of your material is! I am much more comfortable riding my mountain bike than on drop bars anymore. I always seems to suffer from wrist tension and numbness on the hoods. Consequently, I'm seriously thinking about selling my 2020 Topstone Carbon Ultegra RX that's not even a year old and going with a hardtail or something like a Cutthroat with a flatbar setup. My wife and I recently did a 21 mile ride up at the Grand Canyon on pavement with her on her Topstone and me on my full suspension and I EASILY kept up with her, and I didn't even lock out the suspension (I like to jump over things and play). That essentially convinced me that I could have something like a hardtail as my only bike with 2 sets of wheels, and it would be a wide range 1X. I love the simplicity of shifting my X01 Eagle and being able to adjust the derailleur right on the shifter. And the dropper is the icing on the cake, along with the 28 pound weight with pedals (carbon everything). Stay safe out there!

Kept waiting for some shots of the entire bike with the bars on to get an idea of what it looks like. Sounds like a good option ergonomically, but what about aesthetically?
I have a genesis longitude with a handlebars made my a British company on-one, the bars are called OG... They look very very similar, I've compared them on whatbars.com Very similar indeed.. I quite the way they look. But i wonder how much of that aesthetic is because i know how comfortable they are..
Considering this bar but can't find an online store with reasonable shipping to Canada. The Kyote isn't working for me. How are you liking the Ergotec?
@@chandrashekarmudhol2460 I didn’t swap my stem when I did this bar , it really just adjusted my wrist angle more so then put hands out farther, if it’s a lot wider then he currently straight bar yes you may want to shorten a size or two

@@chandrashekarmudhol2460 I didn’t try any of those types of add ons, it makes sense since it is a tighter bend then most bars like this. I know ride farr has some bar ends like that as well, but it may just be down to the shape and tighter bend that may have issues
Shorter! I had to reduce my stem length to 3.5cm, I also had to get a seat post without offset to the back. It was well worth it though, the bars are perfect and my wrist pain is completely gone.
How is the redshift shock pipe working out for you with flat bars? Asking beacuse I heard and read from many people that in order to make it work properly you got to have drop bars since the springs works when you put the weight over the pipe itself.
There need to be more alt-bars that come stock. Wrist pain is a such a common complaint with flat bars that you'd think they'd figure this out by now. Maybe one of these direct-to-consumer brands will step up?
just had my first ride out with these bars and your right best ever so confident on the trail I also use the bend as an aero position I was 3kmph faster on average on my normal trail route with these bars!
Can't wait to get mine! I was running straight bars, then ran 35° 640mm M bars for a while. 35° back sweep feels a tad too much and 640mm a tad too narrow for me, so I'm eager to try these at 27.5°. I'll definitely have to cut it down to 720mm to be able to pass my bike through my apartment's narrow doorway, sadly.
@@LockedinCycling Ah! Yours are a little different than mine and I didn't realize there were multiple ergo Ritchey grips. I use the WCS EGP: us.ritcheylogic.com/us_en/wcs-egp-locking-grips
The way the bike industry keeps reinventing things, for example the old school allrounder pattern of handlebars as seen here. Then one day the bike industry will invent the bicycle and marketing boffins will sell you this new cool invention of the bicycle !!!! But I'll add that the allrounder handlebars are extremely comfortable and I run them on my touring bike
Can somebody tell me how thick the bar is on the ends where the shifters are? I have the problem that I put my road shifters on that bar but the shifter holding ring is too big so I can not fixate the lever on the bar properly. Has someone an idea how to solve this issue? Maybe some kind of spacer ring or griptape? thanks!
It all comes back. Had bikes with this style bars in the 80s.

Have you taken them on anything technical or as it just been more all-road riding sort of usage?
I’ve taken them on mountain trails and they are still great

I realize it is kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good website to watch new series online ?
@Guillermo Maison Lately I have been using FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@Jasper Augustus Yea, I have been watching on flixzone for years myself :)
@Jasper Augustus thank you, signed up and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :D Appreciate it!!
@Guillermo Maison no problem xD

They look like they increase reach a little compared to standard flat bars, can you measure by how much?
They do but I don’t have a measurement
Have a look at Ergotec Rise Comfort 50. Almost the same with 25 degrees back sweep. I just ordered it.

looking at bars of style for my 2 bikes as are different from the norm, as I my cruiser bike it has mini apps on it

Chuck some bar ends on that alt position on the bends
Hi, may I ask how many degrees rizer are you using on your mountain bike? Thanks.
How’s the stem length? Should I go longer than with a flat-ish bar?
I am also interested in stem length comments.....

It works well you just go to a softer elastomer setup when using with flat bar

Check our my
Kaiventure handlebar bag reviews , I have a discount code and they use a ton of loops on the back for easy placement
Great video, I don't see the link in the description for handlebar.
Just updated the description, thanks for looking out!
Interesting for sure. I swapped my flat bars for a Jones H bar. Eliminated wrist pain instantly.

Get into that. 😎 Product history is always fun.
How is a tight turn on the technical stuff does the bar come close in to your body
I think it gives your knees more room because of the sweep, creating pockets for them to not hit
