OH man , I'm going crazy . I will sell my 5 bedrooms house and a parcel of land in Canada and move into a place like this. No more snow storms and financial stress for the rest of my life . Thank you so much . I've been watching your videos for many years
If you've plenty of money mate and.....................it's enough to keep you for the duration of your visit. I use the word visit as you'll never be anything more than a visitor (alien) in the eyes of the Thai's. If you run out of money you're done, even if you can live like a Thai (which is tough) you still need to keep on top of you're visas.
if you can do this: don't sell, just rent yr Canada place and use the rent as spending money, when going to LOS you always need a plan B and in many cases that means going back home
For 5000 -6000THB per month you can get a basic style house with air-con. The one I rented for 2 years in Hua Hin had 2 small bedrooms, a main area/ kitchen, and bathroom. The only issue I had is that it sometimes got wasps and we had to keep the bathroom drain closed because centipedes used to come through it.
I agree, it’s been a rough road, even for many of us that feel a sense of loss watching Rick’s adventures and the gut-wrenching events of Vee these last few months (admittedly no where remotely at the same level as Rick). I wish nothing but happiness and good fortune going forward for him!
Even though I've lived all around Thailand and have heard all about the dark side of that city like the Russian Mob....ect. Your channel has shown me the positive side of Pattaya and now I finally want to visit.
I done that level of living in Chiang mai for 18 months .It was B2200 a month .A Thai style Condo with just 2 floors .I was on the upper floor with a biggish balcony .Just a fan but i was already adjusted to the climate .WiFI was an extra B200 a month .They already provided a bed ,wardrobe and heated shower .30 sqm so a big room .It was very quiet which is my main concern after experiencing house living with noisy dogs nearby .I loved it as it was in a small village but only 20 minutes by motorcycle from the City .
I had wondered how you were doing. The last vlog I saw was about Vee's passing. I was rather sad about that. I had prayed for you both and really was concerned for your well being. Then after being a subscriber for over 3 years the knuckleheads at RUclips went & un- subcribed me. I re-subscribed today. Will be looking forward to all your vlogs on your channel. Today's one about minimalist living was eye opening & well done. Enjoyed it immensely. Thank You as always. Presently I am writing this message from Granada, Nicaragua Next month will be back in the Philippines.
These are great, I have a friend who used to live in one of those and I have to say the walls are usually thick and if you invest a little you can make it very liveable and comfortable.
Your full service vloger! This something I did not know was available and very affordable. I read a few of the other subscribers comments and was a little surprised at a few of the comments. First, you did a great job as usual of putting the info together. There is a need for this type of rental. It is an affordable beginning which here in America they are living in tent cities. A horrible way to live and most are on drugs or they get robbed by those that are. All of your knowledge helps people exist. This was not bad, clean and what they can afford. Thanks for your efforts in helping people as usual. I wish you the best!
That's exactly how we live here outside Khon Kaen in Issan for the past four years. Me, my wife and our daughter. Even a little bit smaller than the room you showed there. We also pay 2500 Bath per month, but we have aircon. Otherwise we couldn't stand it here with 40 to 42 degrees celsius at the moment. A little lake behind the house and a lot of birds and chickensound around. Yes it's a minimalist life, but it's possible. And it's very save, all the neighbours are cops and it's 500 meters away from the police station.
Thank you, you make everything interesting , We have been waiting to come see the Thailand that you show so well, you are a great ambassador and a good man and a credit to the USA, thank you for showing us the wonderful side of thai culture especially during this difficult time in your life, god bless and keep you,
"High season" in tourist areas requires more seasonal workers. Many will bunk up with several people to a room that size. Each will have a space - on the floor - for a sleeping area that can be folded away. - Of course, many meals will be taken - on the floor-.
Nice video. Another positive aspect of living in this type of town-home/unit is that you will only pay the standard house elec bill as opposed to the rate for condo's which is substantially higher. Also great for someone who maybe comes to Thailand 3 or 4 times a year for say a month a time and would like their own digs.
Great to see your back, good that your still helping people , the units looked great value , and having a blank canvas to start with would make it become more homely , I gather as you mentioned manny thais living there , could be better than their village home back in the provience, great to see your moving forward
My Dude! Watching your video just gave me an idea! It's because I play the trumpet and am tired of using a practice mute. When I return after my next gig, I want to get one of these "quiet" places where no one will care how loud I blow the trumpet. Wow! I'm really psyched!
good info. eventhough can afford more, I could see myself going minimalist for a while. cutting off all the trash and only live with what one actually needs.
My ex gf's sister lived in a place like that. You're right about the houses up in Issan. I'd suggested going back at night when Somchai takes the cap off the bottle of Laokhao and can't remember how to put it back on, then cranks the music and starts wailing on his wife. Giddy times. Was it a farang who was living there? I love the price and simplicity but you'd be pretty isolated if you were the only foreigner there and had trouble with one of your neighbours.
Always helping someone💖. I was missing your vloggs, and you came back with an extraordinary one. Cheap? Yes, but good. Millions of people will love to have that for thems selfs, morw than we would like to be. Even that little, us like a 7💎 hotel for those people. $1200-$1500 should be more than enough to buy(new) everything you need. Happy travels and stay safe. God bless you👍🏿.
This air cooler makes you sweat more because it increases humidity. They work ok in hot dry climate but definitely not in Thailand. Marketing does wonders.
Just fine for minimalist living for sure! Clean and seems secure and actually lovely in my eyes. I’ve seen much worse and far more expensive. Good info mate. 👍
nice price and nice location, living in Cambodia for many years,my rent on a 3 bedroom,3 bathroom home in Siem Reap is cheap also at $150 per month fully furnished.i loved thailand as i lived there many years before my move here.
Hello Lucas, glad you showed these types of apartments so everyone can see what is available there. Hope your doing well and keep busy! Excellent vlog as usual!
Many years ago before we were married, my wife lived for a while in a similar unit out towards Mabprachan, again very quiet, I think back the it was 1500thb but that's probably at least 12yrs ago. It was comfy and the neighbours were very kind to each other 😊
Hi Lucas and thanks for sharing, great to see you doing some video's again, yeah the accommodation is out of the way and nice and peaceful, just a tad too minimal for me personally though, but a great price nonetheless, regards from England 🍺🍺👍
