We offered to pay her for the ride several times, but she declined each time. A few minutes later, after we said our goodbyes, my friend realized he didn’t have his phone. Luckily, she had given us her business card. We called her, and she said the phone was in her car and that she would return to Walking Street to give it back to us. She did return the phone, and once again, we offered her money, but she declined. Rose is such an honest and beautiful soul. She also speaks English well.
Good video. The police actually helped me in Pattaya. I had gotten so drunk that I couldn't walk and I was too heavy for my Thai girlfriend to carry. She asked the police for help and they helped by taking me back to my hotel (in the police car).
Example, a car accident between a Thai and foreigner where the Thai is at fault. If the Thai gets to the insurance company or police first, the foreigner is screwed so this service would be good.
ahhh you should know the rule.... if a farang is in an accident, even if they are in the right they are deemed to be in the wrong as if you were not in Thailand the accident would not of happened !!!

That’s a good effort of copying us but not good enough. Why not mention consumer protection agency for disputes with landlords ? No need to hire a lawyer for this. It’s free to file the complaint.
I had a bike accident with a car on a Vmax 1200. No damage to the bike but the wing of the vehicle was damaged. We were all taken to the police station which seemed to be dragging their feet. I negotiated with the owner in the police station about the cost to repair their car and I accepted 3000 baht. They were happy I was happy and the police were happy and kept my passport until I paid the lady for the damage to her car. I don't believe it was my fault as they turned left in front of me but what can you do without video evidence. Always be polite, genteel with all parties as it goes a long way to a negotiated outcome. Especially the police who I have always found polite, reasonable and accommodating but have the final say as to how far something gets escalated

A very very helpful video Lucas and what a wonderful and talented lady. One other piece of advice I have learnt from past travels to Thailand and other areas in South East Asia is... Never Never, Ever Ever, lose your "Temper" in any tricky situation you might find yourself in. Try and stay calm. 🙂
At the end of the day the foreigner pays and Rose might be able to lessen the amount. Compromise in Thailand in any dispute is the foreigner pays and the Thai save face. I understand that a lot can be lost in translation with the exception of how to rinse a foreigner.
What an excellent service, a real need for this service. Rose seems a capable and straightforward woman. The fact that she has been an official court translator ; her English must be as good as it gets for a non native speaker. We can all get jammed up especially in a place like Pattaya .
Having a smart, experienced, and reliable Thai person in your corner when you find yourself in a sticky situation is extremely valuable. Like Rose said, living in Thailand requires you to negotiate and compromise. What you believe to work in the western world doesn't necessarily apply here. Having a Thai person as a buffer for the language and cultural barrier is key!

Last year during the winter, I was over in Phuket patong area, riding my scooter and a Thai lady bumped into me with her scooter...she fell ..I stopped.. helped her up and gather her belongings...few scrapes on her as she was wearing shorts... police and ambulance was called...and the police advised me to get some cash and pay her...maybe it was unfair to me .. but I paid..and walked away and enjoyed my vacation

Pattaya Police Station Beach Road have a desk manned by European Tourist Police there is also a direct phone number for them they're very good.
