Zack Snyder's Justice League, the 2021 director's cut, please.
On a side note, there is a really good (but chilling) film that is a supervillain/horror story variation on Superman - the film is called 'Brightburn' (2019) and the premise is; what if the alien child who arrived on earth was evil and not good.

I like how unashamedly wholesome Diana was. She's not naive, but also not afraid to show that she is upset at atrocities, and is genuinely excited at things like animals and babies.

Watching this in a crowded theater with my daughter felt so special. It reminded me of when my dad took me to see Batman in 1989. This movie is so good, it deserves the love it got. I don't care what people say about the third act. Personally, I've always enjoyed the entire film, and every about it. It has a feeling of fun, not felt since Superman: The Movie. The character is lovable, the action is kick ass, and the look of the film gives it's a classic feel.

Just a little background on WW in the comics:
-She's 5000 years old. The opening sequence of her growing up in this movie doesn't mention how much time is passing in between the skips, so she could be that old here, too.
-Being as old as she is, that's also how long she's been trained in combat, making her the only JL member (as far as I know) who is better trained in martial combat than Batman.
-Her bracers actually suppress her power. She wears them because she can't fully control her own strength, and the bracers allow her to interact with people without hurting them. With the bracers off, Superman himself has speculated that she might be stronger than he is.
-When she killed Ares in the comics, she was named the new God of War by the Olympians (they weren't all dead in the comics).
-She can fly. She also has an invisible plane that she doesn't really use much anymore.
-Once Themyscira's existence becomes known to man in the modern age, Diana serves as the island's ambassador to the UN, making her the only JL member with a political position (again, as far as I know).

In the comics of the 1940s Etta Candy was a comedy sidekick of Wonder Woman. She was a plus-sized gal with, appropriately, a love of candy...and proud of it. She commanded a crack team of quasi-commandos comprised of classmates from Holliday College, the all-girls college she attended (a deleted scene in Wonder Woman is a nod to this - see ruclips.net/video/YOb_PkrJokk/видео.html). In some ways Etta was similar to the original Red Tornado, Ma Hunkel.
After the death of Wonder Woman creator Marston in 1947, Etta was mostly ignored by subsequent writers for decades. When eventually reintroduced Etta's character was changed pretty substantially and never regained her prominence among Wonder Woman's cast or characters.

Wonder Woman 1984 is not a bad movie AT ALL, it's just one of those things that falls under the hive-mindedness of the internet where a thing is either the Greatest or the WORST thing that ever existed, no inbetween or room for complexity. I think there's a lot good things about that movie. I hope you react to it, Jen.

I agree, it’s a good movie. I had a big problem with the ethics of an important writing choice made in it, but overall, it’s nowhere near as terrible as its internet reputation makes it out to be.

@@danhalstead705 Honestly I had no problem with the villain. He fit the campier tone of the 2nd movie just fine IMO.
My big issue with the movie would require major spoilers, so I won’t say more than that WW’s choices & reactions around a particular character’s presence in the story do not paint her in a good light if you look at them too closely.

Joss Whedon's version of Justice League was not bad, it was just different than what Zack Snyder envisioned. I think he did the best with what he had, but he definitely made a more commercialized version. The Snyder Cut, even though it's 4 hours long, is the movie it should have been. So much added, some taken away, and the bad guy, Steppenwolf, looks more like the alien he's supposed to be and less like an anthropomorphic trout. That being said, since you have the type of channel that allows for film analyzation to a degree, I actually recommend watching both, for comparison. Taking in Whedon's theatrical cut will definitely help you appreciate what Snyder finally did.

Gal’s portrayal of Wonder Woman is iconic because she exudes a distinctly feminine charisma and power that we don’t often see in superhero movies, even ones with female leads.
The 2nd movie is fun IMO. It has some big ethical problems written into Diana that offended a lot of WW fans (including me). But as an action movie on its own terms, it’s fun and a bit goofy like this one.
BTW, this movie takes place during World War 1, not 2. The real-life General Ludendorff was Adolph Hitler’s mentor, so he’s a great choice for a villain.

A lot of them were NOT CGI, but were performed by stunt-double Caitlin Dechelle, who has black belts in Chinese Kenpo, Japanese Goju-Ryu and Taekwondo. You want to see a real kick-ass woman? I’ve watched your 007 reacts. Glad that you enjoyed WW so much. The photo from 1918, included in BvS:DOJ was a clever link. The 1970’s tv series with Lynda C’ had her involved with Steve during WW2, and later in the groovy 70’s. The comics started during the 1940’s. I like the time was moved back to the First World War! (I have visited battlefields and graveyards from both wars, as an amateur Historian).
I am sure that others have already noted about the two different versions of “Justice League”. I would’ve vote that you watch the longer Snyder edition. Or, watch both.

I think the plot and the performance really captured the essence of what rhe Wonder Woman character came to mean after the pver half a century of evolution and character development. She's very true to the character that comic fans know and love. That of course has the enefit of appealing to the pre-established audience, but it also benefits from not messing up something that has worked so well for so long so and allowing a new audience to bre won over by the things that have made the character an enduring success. With that statement, am I low key criticizing Zack Snyder's take on Batman and Suoerman? I will neither confirm nor deny that.

    2.7K Thumbs Up + Mine! 👍 You're welcome, and thanks! 😊
Notes: Aha! You're so cute with the tiara and spectacles combination! As it reminds me of Lynda Carter's "Diana Prince" if her transformation from "DP" to "WW" was more like Clark Kent's than what it actually turned out to be! ("Wonder Ninja", consequently, uses the same magical spinning!)
"Amazon" is Ancient Greek for "breastless" and/or "debreasted" but when Doctor William Moulton Marston, a psychologist, created "Wonder Woman" and her brand of "Amazons" he didn't have them cut their breasts off to improve their Archery as per the originals! Instead, he made them extra buxom to the point now, that when people describe a busty, tall woman, they call her "Amazonian" and actress Lynda Carter fit that description when she was hired to replace actress Cathy Lee Crosby, whose version was like 1970s comic book version. At the time, people that were no longer reading comics thought that she was still the 1940s pin-up babe that they remembered from their childhood. In the comics though, she was more like a female version of "James Bond OO7"!
To appease the general audiences, Lynda Carter's pilot movie, the second pilot, rebooted the origin to be the 1940s style.
Bondage is one of her classic Vulnerabilities. You've seen the "OO7" movies and so you've seen how prevalent it was back then. Harry Houdini was a great influence on writer who wanted their characters to be escape artists too. (I prefer that they be good enough to avoid capture!)
However, with the doctor, his inspiration was just good old-fashioned BDSM bondage! He and his two women, were into it!
But anyway, once people caught on to the sexual aspects, they were shocked into action and it became less prevalent. We Americans seem to prefer violence over sexuality for being tied-up!
But I'm turning this comment into another information dump! 😁
