"Last Action Hero" is a very underrated Arnold Schwarzenegger movie! But I think You would love it!
I highly recommend that one as well.
Absolutamente, una muy entretenida película casi olvidada.
Absolutely .
A very entertaining and almost forgotten movie.
Yeah. I thought it was too silly, when I was a kid, but now I love it.
Great movie... it was terribly mis-marketed as an action movie, which is why it bombed. Go in looking for a comedy, and it's great!
Good mix of comedy, action, and some heart
"Are we gonna die?"
"Yep!"
I love how he delivers that line. 😝
Lollll funniest line 🤣
“Twins” with Danny DeVito is a great movie that shows of Arnold’s comedy chops. And yes, he’s shirtless in it.
Twins is great!
Like Twins. Love Kindergarten Cop!
I forgot about that movie. Another good Arny comedy is Junior
Yep, Twins and Junior, both excellent Arnie comedies.
Kindergarten Cop also.
Kindergarten Cop is another great Arnold film. Glad you checked this film out. They say that Arnie's acting skills are less than stellar but he really nails it and proved them wrong in this movie. Lol. See ya next time. 👍
"It's not a TOOMAH"
Jaime Lee Curtis showed REAL comedy LEAD chops. Though her comedic SUPPORTING roles in Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda stand on their own, her deadpan to her "I'm-in-control-of-the-situation" performance is top notch.
She's a real chop off the old block.
FISH CALLED WANDA. ... 😄😄😄
@@aleksanderkler9475 chip off the old block.
Great Arnie comedies - Twins and Kindergarten Cop.
Twins stars John Travolta’s late wife. I am sad now when I watch that movie.
Cosigned on Twins. Excellent movie!
@@biguy617 Debbie Downer alert
You forgot Junior
A couple fun facts:
1.) The chopper pilot ("Oh yeah, she's got her head in the guy's lap, all right. Ya-hoo!") is voiced by James Cameron (director);
2.) Blowing up a nuclear weapon with conventional explosives will *probably most likely* not set off the nuke (if it's not armed, it definitely won't). The only thing to worry about really is nuclear material dispersal from the bomb's destruction...
That's something they got right in The Peacemaker; prevent a nuclear bomb from going off by repeatedly smacking it as hard as you can with a solid object. You'd probably still get a dirty bomb that would scatter radioactive material over the radius of the explosion, but unless the shaped charges are all exactly aligned and detonated at precisely the right time you won't get a nuclear explosion.
Nukes are simple theoretically, but require precise circumstances to detonate, so burning them or using external force won't do it.
Boris and Natasha is a reference to two cartoon characters from The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle show that was in the 60's. 😁
Yep, pretty sure they were referencing that when she wanted her code name to be Natasha. 😀
Oh thanks, didn't know!
Jen knows
Most young people won't get that reference. Hey Rocky watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!
"I think he's a good horse."
The unnamed police horse is hilarious, and somehow Arnie has great chemistry with it 😅
For another amazing cinematic horse - The Mask of Zorro
Such a great and sometimes overlooked movie! Good stuff, good stuff
"Yep but they were all bad"
In a movie FULL of great lines, that one is one of the best!
Agent: "Oh yeah she's got her head in the guy's lap alright, yahoo."
Gib: "Maybe she's sleepy"
*Kindergarten Cop* is a really fun comedy/action with Arnie for you to watch. Also, try *Twins* . But *Kindergarten Cop* should be the next Arnold film. By the way, loved this reaction!
What a great, unique movie! I saw this in the theater, and it was like nothing I had ever seen by then. Tom Arnold was awesome in this, as well as Bill Paxton RIP.
Tom Arnold had a hilarious supporting role in Exit Wounds, also.
You wouldn't need to worry about nearby explosions setting off a nuke. They're essentially impossible to detonate by accident.
yep, these nukes need a lot of tender love and care, every single one is handmade.
: ) Glad to see you enjoyed True Lies, it's one of my favorites. I'm also glad others have mentioned "Last Action Hero" (another very good film), on a slight tangent the actor who played Dana the daughter did more acting including three Joss Whedon series / no spoilers/ Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel series, to also a main role in the two season action series "Dollhouse".
Don't forget playing Missy in Bring It On.
@@PHSDM104 Great role and great movie in Bring It On!
29:28 if you want to see more of Arnie being pretty crass, go watch Pumping Iron from 1977, which is about him competing in the Mr Olympia body building competition. He says a lot of funny shit in the movie and as a bonus that I’m sure you’ll enjoy, there are plenty of muscles being shown off as they compete in Speedos, so there is plenty of opportunities to gawk at some of the most impressive physiques ever.
Excessive shirtless Arnold - Conan
Runner up - Commando
Comedy - Kindergarten Cop
runner up - Twins
Excessive guns, explosions and intentional cliche abuse - Last Action Hero
Last Action Hero is a satire on action films and their tropes.
@@Cheepchipsable Hence the intentional cliche abuse.
Some facts about this movie... When Helen fell over during her strip tease in the hotel room, she really slipped and fell by accident, but they left it in the movie because it perfect for the scene. Also, when Helen, (Jamie Lee Curtis) is pulled out of the limousine through the sunroof, that was really her, not a stunt double. According to an interview, she said that filming day was her birthday, and SHE wanted to do the stunt as a gift to herself. If you look carefully, you can see James Cameron sitting in the helicopter with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Another fun fact, is when Arnold got mad and punches the car window (not shown in this reaction) when he wants the missing page of the phone transcripts between his wife and Simon, he accidentally hits the wrong window-the real one- rather than the one that was rigged to shatter easily-but, of course, James Cameron kept it in the movie.
Another one was right at the end when Hellen and Harry are dancing the tango and she slips.
She had practiced the dance for days before the shot and when it came to film it, her muscles gave out, causing her to fall and you can see she attempted to get up but her legs were useless, but they went along with the rest of the scene. She was very upset (embarrassed) that they left that shot in the movie.
Not quite about the striptease. She demonstrated it to James Cameron, who hadn't told Arnold Schwarzenegger that she was going to fall.
"I'm nothing! i'm naval linnnnt" my favorite line in the movie. followed by the whole, "I've been in the van for 15 years. next time you can be in the van."
"Twins", "Commando", "Total Recall", "The Last Action Hero", and "Junior" are my choices for your next Arnie comedy films. "I'M NAVAL LINT!" 😄😄😄
This is one of the best action/comedy/spy movies of all time. Rest in peace Bill Paxton.
You have to watch Twins and Kindergarten Cop. Those are some of his best comedies of all time. Keep up the great reactions Jen. 😊
Thank you vic! ☺👍
Harry's daughter, Dana, is played by Eliza Dushku. I'm a big fan of her later work in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "The Dollhouse." I've never seen "Tru Calling," but I hear she was in that, too.
I really liked Eliza Dushku and enjoyed Tru Calling a lot -- at least, until they brought in a serial antagonist.
His daughter, Dana, was played by Eliza Dushku, who among other things, had a major recurring role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Faith. She was also the star of the two season Joss Whedon show Dollhouse (very underrated, and like Firefly, not given time enough to fully develop its story), and the short-lived show Tru Calling, which also had a supernatural element to it.
I was fully expecting the Worst Award to go to Arnie's shirt. 😂
🤣🤣
The bad guy's reaction to the jet at 26:40 always kills me.
I would recommend The Running Man. If you want Arnold comedies, Kindergarten Cop and Twins. If it's Arnie muscles and shirtless then maybe try the Conan movies.
"Maybe she's sleepy" makes me laugh every single time. ;-)
Twins is worth watching.. Its not the best movie, but it has some of the funniest Arnold scenes.. Also think it was his first comedy movie
Probably" Hercules in NY" would be his first comedy...and pretty much any movie with a speaking part...
A lesser known comedy with Arnie is The Villain, also known as Cactus Jack, which is best described as a comedic western crossed with the vibe of Looney Tunes.
Hey Jen! Just a suggestion...if you want Arnie with his shirt off for most the movie, in a pretty good movie...watch 'Conan The Barbarian'. He plays the title role and the villain is James Earl Jones. It's an early 80s film and he is in peak condition.
Agree! Unless you're only looking for Arnie with his shirt off, forget about "Conan The Destroyer". It's absolute trash.
Also his doco, Pumping Iron - "I feel like I am cumming!"
Twins and Kindergarten Cop should be in your batch of Arnie movies! I LOVE True Lies... For some reason, the line "What kind of sick bitch steals the ICE CUBE TRAYS out of the freezer?" had my friends and I just rolling in the aisle in the theater. The whole movie is great... You have to wonder what kind of weird PTSD/Daddy Issues Dana grew up with... what with being kidnapped by terrorists AND having her daddy the super-spy-superhero save her. No boyfriend is ever gonna measure up to THAT!
The Agency being called "Omega Sector" is a very neat name for an Intel Agency, and is also meant as a hat tip to Charlton Heston, who did a Sci Fi movie in the 1970s called "The Omega Man." Heston's SF Outings also included Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green.
" it's people ! "
Total Recall with Arnie, it's SCI-FI-ACTION!
I'd recommend Last Action Hero as an Arnie comedy, and Commando for just being very, very Arnie (I'm sure you'll enjoy it).
If you want a shirtless Arnold, then you have to see Conan the Barbarian. It was Arnold's first major role, afterwards he went to film Terminator.
First official $100 million film. Just 3 years later, Cameron did the first official $200 million film. As one of the hosts or presenters during the "Titanic Oscars," Arnie quipped that he'd worked with Cameron three times during his "low-budget days." Meaning T1, T2 and True Lies.
When Helen sees that the bridge is out her reaction always makes me laugh it's so funny.
Harry's daughter is Eliza Dushku in almost her first role.
All Schwarzenegger movies starting with "Conan the Barbarian" to his filming break as governor are more or less recommendable.
My favorites are more the action based ones than the comedy things, but the comedies are good too.
I watched "Total Recall" as reissue a few weeks ago in cinema (for the first time in cinema, 80s VHS kid).
That was a nice experience.
So yeh, I would also recommend some Paul Verhoeven movies from the 80s and 90s and "Wayne's World I+II" where Tia Carrere has a nice role with a memorable "The Ballroom Blitz" performance.
1:38 Charlton Heston appeared in over 100 films over 60 years.
Some of his memorable movies:
Ben Hur
The Ten Commandments
The Greatest Story Ever Told
Planet of the Apes (the original and the remake)
Beneath the Planet of the Apes
Escape from the Planet of the Apes
Soylent Green
Oh I really want to see Planet of the Apes 👍
It's all about the explosions! Right Jen?? 😂
Twins is another Arnie comedy that's really good. Red Heat as well, but you really can't go wrong with any of his movies.
Conan the Barbarian is a great movie and he pretty much has no shirt on for the whole thing! And it was back when he was absolutely jacked!! (not that he isn't always, but you'll see).
Just watched Total Recall today but those all sound great!
Great reaction, Jen, thank you. Some great Arnie films to watch and review, 'Commando', 'Kindergarten Cop', of his comedy films 'Twins' is probably the best. 🙂
P.S. tactical Jen took over for low key MVP assignment. YES!
🤣🤣👍
Great movie. the Battery scene is one of the funniest scene in all the movies I have seen . You should watch other Arnold movie. like The Running Man (A movie that came out the same time as the predator and was overshadowed by it ) or Conan The Barbarian (An epic movie with an epic sountrack)
Funny fact. The scene where Arnold's character gets mad and punches through a car window, was supposed to be through a special movie prop window. However Arnold hit the wrong window and smashed his fist through an actual car window in that scene. So the surprise you see on Tom Arnold's character isn't acted, as the actual actor was stunned to see Arnold smash through a real window like that.
1st... you're great...2nd...the scene where he says "come-on baby" n she grabs his hand n he saves her on the bridge has always gotten me emotional... good stuff..👍
The elderly couple that gets trapped in the elevator with the horse are the real life owners of the horse.
Art Malik (Aziz) is also known for his role as James Bond's ally Kamran Shah from the 1987 film "The Living Daylights"
At the time she didn’t react to the Timothy Dalton movies
This movie is just okay, very watchable, but what is the best is you. You have no idea how much joy you bring to so many people.
Great reactions to this James Cameron film, Jen!!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽This is a very solid well made spy film. Arnold comedies that come to mind are "Twins" (1988) and "Kindergarten Cop" (1990).
These workmates are gourgous, they helped him since 17 years, that his family not find out what he is realy doing
SUCH A FUN SPY ACTION ADVENTURE COMEDY MOVIE!
Tia Carrere, the "antiquities dealer" in the film is in the Wayne's World comedies.
Hey Jen ! You really need to see Kindergarten Cop (1990) with Arnie. Very fun and sweet movie ! Thanks for your reactions.......
Probably my favorite Arnie movie.
Probably one if the best action movies ever. Genuine effects. You're actually seeing what you're seeing....crazy huh kids!!
The bridge scenes were filmed at the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys where I grew up. During filming Arnold had a half day off and he visited the kids in the elementary school classroom my sister in law worked in.
The guy that said no pain no gain on that television that’s Jesse Ventura former wrestler on the company WWF/WWE! He also acted on the searching for a alien searching moving also with Arnold And Jesse called predator and he says the famous movie 🎥 line Ain’t Got Time To Bleed! Also the guy hosting the running man is Richard Dawson! Before Steve Harvey Hosted Family Feud Richard Was The Original Host of the Game Show from the 70’s,80’s ,and 90’s! MIND BLOWN!!!
16:02 When you fellas brought her in here, she was an uncertain, meek housewife and homemaker, a hairsbreadth away from being a shy, timid little girl. But _now,_ you boys have poked the bear.
17:58 I had not seen the movie _Trading Places,_ yet. This scene introduced Jamie Lee Curtis to my fantasy file where, to this day, she resides _quite_ comfortably.
You want to see Arnold cursing all sorts of f-bombs left and right, check out Sabotage.
haha... "there's always time to tango"
Three Arnie movies, Eraser is similar to this one, Kindergarten Cop is funny, and a, mostly, overlooked film, The Last Action Hero, is a combination of many things, and even takes a bit of a poke at his other movies. These are all good films, and well worth the time.
Last Action Hero next! It's a comedy that kinda parodies action movies, while still being a pretty good action movie in itself. Arnold is great in it.
Twins and kindergarten cop are comedy and commando is an unintentionally comedy. All three are great in different ways
Arnie is just made for action comedies, isn't he? Sorry you didn't quite get the shirtless Arnie you wanted :) When this came out in the cinemas, we didn't expect to see that much of Jamie Lee, or that she was in such amazing shape 😛
Yeah, Kindergarten Cop and Twins (with Danny DeVito!) are both great Arnie comedies (and there may be some shirtless action in one or both of them 😉)
Fun Fact... the bridge that was blown up was actually blown up for this movie... it was the old US Highway connecting the Keys it was slated for demolition cause a new bridge had been built and the State of FL arranged with the Movie production to allow the stunt to be shot for real with the real bridge when they were taking it down!!!
Dana is forever scarred with a fear of heights.
No she isn't. Watch "Dollhouse" season 1 episode 2 😉
Tia Carrere (the beautiful villain) is the love interest in the Wayne's World duology, definitely recommend those movies.
Twins with him and Danny DeVito is great. And there's a sequel to it in the works that's supposed to come out soon with Tracy Morgan
Low Key MVP goes to explosions. This channel is Great!!
Thanks! Love some great explosions! 🔥🔥
10:36 - Arnie's boss is played by Charlton Heston. You may recogniize him from the original 'Planet of The Apes' movie series.
Great reaction to such a fun movie (believe this was a James Cameron movie). A young Arnie in Conan the Barbarian is great and one most people don't react to or haven't even heard about.... James Earl Jones stars in it as well, which is kind of surreal since the movie came out in the early 1980s and he was early on in the Darth Vader voice. I swear he says things that sound like Vader in that movie (to me at least).
James Earl Jones was in a lot of movies before voicing Vader.
Oh this is going to be fun. 😁
The Man with the beard running the resistance is the drummer for Fleetwood Mac a rock band from The 70’s,80’s and 90’s and lead singer Stevie Nicks with songs like go your own way,Dreams,Landslide,The Chain,Gypsy, and Little Lies! You should listen to them they are awesome 😎
Fun fact: the Arabic Windows 3.1 they showed at 2:32 didn't yet in 1994. They got the video showing it (and Word 6 in Arabic) directly from Microsoft where it was being developed at the time.
"I remember the first time I was shot out of a cannon" 😂
🔴🔥 "Red Heat" is worth the price of admission just to listen to an Austrian man delivering comical lines with a Russian accent. 😄👍
Another Great Performance from the late Bill Paxton RIP , Always Guaranteed to make me laugh 😂😂
This is one of the very few movies that I think is actually better with the German dub. For instance, when Helen asks Harry about killing someone, in the German version he answers "Yes, but never one of the good ones." There are lot of subtle changes like this, but they add a lot to Harry's character (adding some shades to a simple B/W world view).
Jamie Lee Curtis ACTUALLY did the stunt extraction from the car...That is NOT a stunt woman... She gets MVP in my book!
The worst thing about this film is we don't have TRUE 2, 3, 4 and more.
@28:00: I love the implication here that Gib hasn't fessed up about his part of busting Helen
Boris and Natasha were cartoon spys from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle show.
Keel Moose and Skwirl.
Art Malik(the bad guy in true lies) was in “the Jewel in the Crown” and “The Far Pavilions.”
I just need to say this: I'm Swiss and there's no Swiss Ski Police! - At least I don't think so...
Lol oh no, I'm prob still gonna imagine the Swiss Ski Police! 🤣
great reaction. Your 'crush' on Arnie is barely noticeable. :) A funny Arnold movie would be Kindergarten Cop.
Lol thanks Tom ☺️👍
What a good start for a video !
Really happy for you, that's a good job you deserve it 👍
This was great Jen how have I not watched your reaction to this until now 😳 your love of explosions is aways so much fun to witness , definitely need something with explosions on some Jen Merc in the future 💥 . " Climb up front and take his foot off the gas " Jen coming in with the survival advice 😀 no wisdom nugget but many a laugh cheers Jen you're kinda awesome 🔥💙
What a random movie for your community to request so highly. 😄 The truth serum scene is my favourite part too
Great video, Jen! True Lies is definitely one of the more entertaining Arnold flicks from the 90's! It's a good blend of the things he's good at: Comedy and action.
If you want to see a "funny because it's a comedy" Arnold movie, check out Jingle All the Way if you haven't seen it. For a fun "so bad it's good movie", check out Hercules in New York! The dubbed version where Arnold sounds like he escaped an old Steve Reeves movie is kind of fun. But the undubbed version with his own voice is a blast! See Arnold get threatened by Zeus with a rubber lightning bolt. See Arnold fight a bear in Central Park! Good times!
Cute top by the way! Black definitely works for you! Have a wonderful weekend!
Nice work, Jen, this was a great choice to react to. This will always be one of my favorites of all time. If you liked Tia Carrere and want to see more of her (I know I do) she had a big part in both of the "Wayne's World" movies
Really enjoy your reactions alot. Here are some other Arnold movies to check out. Twins, Kindergarten cop, red heat, last action hero, total recall and commando. He is shirtless in most of these, especially commando.
Thanks William!
Welcome
23:34 - Directors voice cameo there
That 25mm rotary cannon on the Harrier jet is real, and that's pretty much the effect it has on things in real life, too. It's called the GAU-12 Equalizer, and of course it's designed to shoot down other planes very quickly, in addition to its main role of tearing up ground targets. It works pretty well on anything short of a main battle tank, and even those would get their sensors and other equipment shredded with just a short burst of fire from this thing. Yes, I'm a spy, and I need your help. 😉
My husband told me that they always hire Tia Carrere (who played Juno Skinner) when they need someone who's good at dancing the tango.
If you want to see Tia Carrera not playing a bad guy, give Wayne's World (and Wayne's World 2) a shot. Assuming you haven't seen them already...
Arnold's best comedy, hands down, is Twins. It's a great movie; you'll definitely love it.
First time I watch a premiere!! I'm glad it's such a great movie called True Lies and a great girl called Jen!!
Total recall, twins, kindergarten cop, raw deal, red heat, all good movies
You need to watch Conan the Barbarian. Great movie and he's shirtless the whole way.
Comedy-wise, Twins is his best. One of the best comedies ever.
