@@jenmurrayxo: "Arnie on horseback" And *_Who_* pray tell, do you think that was riding horses in Conan the Barbarian (1982) & Conan the Destroyer; Brendan Fraser??
Jaime Lee Curtis showed REAL comedy LEAD chops. Though her comedic SUPPORTING roles in Trading Places and A Fish Called Wanda stand on their own, her deadpan to her "I'm-in-control-of-the-situation" performance is top notch. She's a real chop off the old block.
A couple fun facts: 1.) The chopper pilot ("Oh yeah, she's got her head in the guy's lap, all right. Ya-hoo!") is voiced by James Cameron (director); 2.) Blowing up a nuclear weapon with conventional explosives will *probably most likely* not set off the nuke (if it's not armed, it definitely won't). The only thing to worry about really is nuclear material dispersal from the bomb's destruction...
That's something they got right in The Peacemaker; prevent a nuclear bomb from going off by repeatedly smacking it as hard as you can with a solid object. You'd probably still get a dirty bomb that would scatter radioactive material over the radius of the explosion, but unless the shaped charges are all exactly aligned and detonated at precisely the right time you won't get a nuclear explosion.
"I think he's a good horse." The unnamed police horse is hilarious, and somehow Arnie has great chemistry with it 😅 For another amazing cinematic horse - The Mask of Zorro
*Kindergarten Cop* is a really fun comedy/action with Arnie for you to watch. Also, try *Twins* . But *Kindergarten Cop* should be the next Arnold film. By the way, loved this reaction!
Some facts about this movie... When Helen fell over during her strip tease in the hotel room, she really slipped and fell by accident, but they left it in the movie because it perfect for the scene. Also, when Helen, (Jamie Lee Curtis) is pulled out of the limousine through the sunroof, that was really her, not a stunt double. According to an interview, she said that filming day was her birthday, and SHE wanted to do the stunt as a gift to herself. If you look carefully, you can see James Cameron sitting in the helicopter with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Another fun fact, is when Arnold got mad and punches the car window (not shown in this reaction) when he wants the missing page of the phone transcripts between his wife and Simon, he accidentally hits the wrong window-the real one- rather than the one that was rigged to shatter easily-but, of course, James Cameron kept it in the movie.
Another one was right at the end when Hellen and Harry are dancing the tango and she slips. She had practiced the dance for days before the shot and when it came to film it, her muscles gave out, causing her to fall and you can see she attempted to get up but her legs were useless, but they went along with the rest of the scene. She was very upset (embarrassed) that they left that shot in the movie.
: ) Glad to see you enjoyed True Lies, it's one of my favorites. I'm also glad others have mentioned "Last Action Hero" (another very good film), on a slight tangent the actor who played Dana the daughter did more acting including three Joss Whedon series / no spoilers/ Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel series, to also a main role in the two season action series "Dollhouse".
What a great, unique movie! I saw this in the theater, and it was like nothing I had ever seen by then. Tom Arnold was awesome in this, as well as Bill Paxton RIP.
Did you see the psychological horror Bill Paxton directed and starred in, 'Frailty'? It is excellent. Great creepy mysterious horror / thriller. Has a very good cast of 5 main characters, though only 3 of them are famous faces. Jen would love this one (by the time it has ended) and it's only a 15 cert.. so not too bad for her.
29:28 if you want to see more of Arnie being pretty crass, go watch Pumping Iron from 1977, which is about him competing in the Mr Olympia body building competition. He says a lot of funny shit in the movie and as a bonus that I’m sure you’ll enjoy, there are plenty of muscles being shown off as they compete in Speedos, so there is plenty of opportunities to gawk at some of the most impressive physiques ever.
His daughter, Dana, was played by Eliza Dushku, who among other things, had a major recurring role on Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Faith. She was also the star of the two season Joss Whedon show Dollhouse (very underrated, and like Firefly, not given time enough to fully develop its story), and the short-lived show Tru Calling, which also had a supernatural element to it.
The Agency being called "Omega Sector" is a very neat name for an Intel Agency, and is also meant as a hat tip to Charlton Heston, who did a Sci Fi movie in the 1970s called "The Omega Man." Heston's SF Outings also included Planet of the Apes and Soylent Green.
First official $100 million film. Just 3 years later, Cameron did the first official $200 million film. As one of the hosts or presenters during the "Titanic Oscars," Arnie quipped that he'd worked with Cameron three times during his "low-budget days." Meaning T1, T2 and True Lies.
Hey Jen! Just a suggestion...if you want Arnie with his shirt off for most the movie, in a pretty good movie...watch 'Conan The Barbarian'. He plays the title role and the villain is James Earl Jones. It's an early 80s film and he is in peak condition.
This is one of the best action/comedy/spy movies of all time. Rest in peace Bill Paxton. You have to watch Twins and Kindergarten Cop. Those are some of his best comedies of all time. Keep up the great reactions Jen. 😊
Harry's daughter, Dana, is played by Eliza Dushku. I'm a big fan of her later work in "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "The Dollhouse." I've never seen "Tru Calling," but I hear she was in that, too.
I would recommend The Running Man. If you want Arnold comedies, Kindergarten Cop and Twins. If it's Arnie muscles and shirtless then maybe try the Conan movies.
1:38 Charlton Heston appeared in over 100 films over 60 years. Some of his memorable movies: Ben Hur The Ten Commandments The Greatest Story Ever Told Planet of the Apes (the original and the remake) Beneath the Planet of the Apes Escape from the Planet of the Apes Soylent Green
A lesser known comedy with Arnie is The Villain, also known as Cactus Jack, which is best described as a comedic western crossed with the vibe of Looney Tunes.
1st... you're great...2nd...the scene where he says "come-on baby" n she grabs his hand n he saves her on the bridge has always gotten me emotional... good stuff..👍
Great reaction, Jen, thank you. Some great Arnie films to watch and review, 'Commando', 'Kindergarten Cop', of his comedy films 'Twins' is probably the best. 🙂
All Schwarzenegger movies starting with "Conan the Barbarian" to his filming break as governor are more or less recommendable. My favorites are more the action based ones than the comedy things, but the comedies are good too. I watched "Total Recall" as reissue a few weeks ago in cinema (for the first time in cinema, 80s VHS kid). That was a nice experience. So yeh, I would also recommend some Paul Verhoeven movies from the 80s and 90s and "Wayne's World I+II" where Tia Carrere has a nice role with a memorable "The Ballroom Blitz" performance.
It's all about the explosions! Right Jen?? 😂 Twins is another Arnie comedy that's really good. Red Heat as well, but you really can't go wrong with any of his movies. Conan the Barbarian is a great movie and he pretty much has no shirt on for the whole thing! And it was back when he was absolutely jacked!! (not that he isn't always, but you'll see).
Twins and Kindergarten Cop should be in your batch of Arnie movies! I LOVE True Lies... For some reason, the line "What kind of sick bitch steals the ICE CUBE TRAYS out of the freezer?" had my friends and I just rolling in the aisle in the theater. The whole movie is great... You have to wonder what kind of weird PTSD/Daddy Issues Dana grew up with... what with being kidnapped by terrorists AND having her daddy the super-spy-superhero save her. No boyfriend is ever gonna measure up to THAT!
_Twins_ is Arnie's best comedy, co-starring Danny DeVito. _Hercules in New York_ is his best unintentional comedy. _Kindergarten Cop_ is also funny. If you're just looking to ogle Arnie's muscles, _Hercules in New York_ and _Conan the Barbarian_ are two movies with him in peak physical form and shirtless.
"I'm nothing! i'm naval linnnnt" my favorite line in the movie. followed by the whole, "I've been in the van for 15 years. next time you can be in the van."
Funny fact. The scene where Arnold's character gets mad and punches through a car window, was supposed to be through a special movie prop window. However Arnold hit the wrong window and smashed his fist through an actual car window in that scene. So the surprise you see on Tom Arnold's character isn't acted, as the actual actor was stunned to see Arnold smash through a real window like that.
Arnie is just made for action comedies, isn't he? Sorry you didn't quite get the shirtless Arnie you wanted :) When this came out in the cinemas, we didn't expect to see that much of Jamie Lee, or that she was in such amazing shape 😛 Yeah, Kindergarten Cop and Twins (with Danny DeVito!) are both great Arnie comedies (and there may be some shirtless action in one or both of them 😉)
Great movie. the Battery scene is one of the funniest scene in all the movies I have seen . You should watch other Arnold movie. like The Running Man (A movie that came out the same time as the predator and was overshadowed by it ) or Conan The Barbarian (An epic movie with an epic sountrack)
A fantastic rewatch to kickstart the day . It's no surprise this was the most requested movie on your site way back when it's so much fun and you had the best time 🙂 I never get tired of this movie and your wonderful reaction takes it to the next level . Still hoping one day you will get round to watcher eraser noone has of yet reacted to that one and it's one of Arnie's most cheesy and best ones 👌 cheers for always making me laugh and smile Jen you're friggin awesome 🔥💙🔥💙
The bridge scenes were filmed at the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys where I grew up. During filming Arnold had a half day off and he visited the kids in the elementary school classroom my sister in law worked in.
16:02 When you fellas brought her in here, she was an uncertain, meek housewife and homemaker, a hairsbreadth away from being a shy, timid little girl. But _now,_ you boys have poked the bear.
Great video, Jen! True Lies is definitely one of the more entertaining Arnold flicks from the 90's! It's a good blend of the things he's good at: Comedy and action. If you want to see a "funny because it's a comedy" Arnold movie, check out Jingle All the Way if you haven't seen it. For a fun "so bad it's good movie", check out Hercules in New York! The dubbed version where Arnold sounds like he escaped an old Steve Reeves movie is kind of fun. But the undubbed version with his own voice is a blast! See Arnold get threatened by Zeus with a rubber lightning bolt. See Arnold fight a bear in Central Park! Good times! Cute top by the way! Black definitely works for you! Have a wonderful weekend!
The guy that said no pain no gain on that television that’s Jesse Ventura former wrestler on the company WWF/WWE! He also acted on the searching for a alien searching moving also with Arnold And Jesse called predator and he says the famous movie 🎥 line Ain’t Got Time To Bleed! Also the guy hosting the running man is Richard Dawson! Before Steve Harvey Hosted Family Feud Richard Was The Original Host of the Game Show from the 70’s,80’s ,and 90’s! MIND BLOWN!!!
Nice work, Jen, this was a great choice to react to. This will always be one of my favorites of all time. If you liked Tia Carrere and want to see more of her (I know I do) she had a big part in both of the "Wayne's World" movies
Fun Fact... the bridge that was blown up was actually blown up for this movie... it was the old US Highway connecting the Keys it was slated for demolition cause a new bridge had been built and the State of FL arranged with the Movie production to allow the stunt to be shot for real with the real bridge when they were taking it down!!!
Fun fact: the Arabic Windows 3.1 they showed at 2:32 didn't yet in 1994. They got the video showing it (and Word 6 in Arabic) directly from Microsoft where it was being developed at the time.
To add nuance to the other comment, when Helen falls during the hotel dance, Arnold's reaction of concern is also unscripted and genuine. That whole moment is perfect, and to think it was all an accident. So funny! XD Also, 21:12 - You are too funny, LOL
That really was Jamie Lee Curtis who did the helicopter stunt. The director said he had to do it first in rehearsals to convince her the stunt was safe. Her expression said it all.
Juno Skinner was played by Tia Carrere(with an accent mark over one of those vowels, I dunno which) and you can see her playing a much friendlier character in "Wayne's World" and "Wayne's World 2," which I advise for copious laughs.
Great reaction to such a fun movie (believe this was a James Cameron movie). A young Arnie in Conan the Barbarian is great and one most people don't react to or haven't even heard about.... James Earl Jones stars in it as well, which is kind of surreal since the movie came out in the early 1980s and he was early on in the Darth Vader voice. I swear he says things that sound like Vader in that movie (to me at least).
If you haven't seen them yet, a great movie for Jamie Lee Curtis is "A Fish Called Wanda", and a very different (and funny) movie for Arnie is "The Last Action Hero". I definitely recommend both.
3:07 there's always time to tango. 6:21 oh. Ooh la la. Care to tango? 7:07 blow me. 9:04 look out for the chandelier. 19:32 sorry honey. 20:10 they tango-ed. 20:51 your hubby is a bad mo-fo. 26:30 that's right b!tches! 27:42 you're fired!
Cool factoids: During the dance scene the film crew were taking bets on how close Jami could grind against the bed post. The Marines fighters were so good in how accurate they were made, even the Marines were fooled they had to check the tail numbers to make sure they were the fake ones.Oh the villainess was played by Tia Carre. She was the voice of Nani in Lilo and Stitch and the love interest in Wayne's World with Mike Myers and Dana Carvey.
17:58 I had not seen the movie _Trading Places,_ yet. This scene introduced Jamie Lee Curtis to my fantasy file where, to this day, she resides _quite_ comfortably.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's other comedic roles include Twins, Kindergarten Cop and Last Action Hero. This was the third collaboration between Arnold Schwarzenegger, James Cameron and composer Brad Fidel, following the Terminator and Terminator 2 and preceding T2: Battle Across Time. I also recommend watching Pumping Iron, Conan the Barbarian, Commando, The Running Man, Red Heat and Eraser. The fighter jets in this are U.S. Marine Corps Harrier jets
Three Arnie movies, Eraser is similar to this one, Kindergarten Cop is funny, and a, mostly, overlooked film, The Last Action Hero, is a combination of many things, and even takes a bit of a poke at his other movies. These are all good films, and well worth the time.
"Last Action Hero" is a very underrated Arnold Schwarzenegger movie! But I think You would love it!
I highly recommend that one as well.
Absolutamente, una muy entretenida película casi olvidada.
Absolutely .
A very entertaining and almost forgotten movie.
Yeah. I thought it was too silly, when I was a kid, but now I love it.
Great movie... it was terribly mis-marketed as an action movie, which is why it bombed. Go in looking for a comedy, and it's great!
Good mix of comedy, action, and some heart
“Twins” with Danny DeVito is a great movie that shows of Arnold’s comedy chops. And yes, he’s shirtless in it.
Twins is great!

Yep, Twins and Junior, both excellent Arnie comedies.

These workmates are gourgous, they helped him since 17 years, that his family not find out what he is realy doing
SUCH A FUN SPY ACTION ADVENTURE COMEDY MOVIE!
Nice work, Jen, this was a great choice to react to. This will always be one of my favorites of all time. If you liked Tia Carrere and want to see more of her (I know I do) she had a big part in both of the "Wayne's World" movies
haha... "there's always time to tango"
Fun Fact... the bridge that was blown up was actually blown up for this movie... it was the old US Highway connecting the Keys it was slated for demolition cause a new bridge had been built and the State of FL arranged with the Movie production to allow the stunt to be shot for real with the real bridge when they were taking it down!!!
Boris and Natasha were cartoon spys from the old Rocky and Bullwinkle show.
Keel Moose and Skwirl.
Hey Jen ! You really need to see Kindergarten Cop (1990) with Arnie. Very fun and sweet movie ! Thanks for your reactions.......
Probably my favorite Arnie movie.
Fun fact: the Arabic Windows 3.1 they showed at 2:32 didn't yet in 1994. They got the video showing it (and Word 6 in Arabic) directly from Microsoft where it was being developed at the time.
Tia Carrere, the "antiquities dealer" in the film is in the Wayne's World comedies.
To add nuance to the other comment, when Helen falls during the hotel dance, Arnold's reaction of concern is also unscripted and genuine. That whole moment is perfect, and to think it was all an accident. So funny! XD
Also, 21:12 - You are too funny, LOL
What a good start for a video !
Really happy for you, that's a good job you deserve it 👍
That really was Jamie Lee Curtis who did the helicopter stunt. The director said he had to do it first in rehearsals to convince her the stunt was safe. Her expression said it all.
Just that one shot of her hanging where we can identify her, and she would have had a harness.
The long shots would have been a stunt person.
Juno Skinner was played by Tia Carrere(with an accent mark over one of those vowels, I dunno which) and you can see her playing a much friendlier character in "Wayne's World" and "Wayne's World 2," which I advise for copious laughs.
Total recall, twins, kindergarten cop, raw deal, red heat, all good movies
Last Action Hero next! It's a comedy that kinda parodies action movies, while still being a pretty good action movie in itself. Arnold is great in it.
James Earl Jones was in a lot of movies before voicing Vader.
It is based on a French movie which is called "La Totale".
You want to see Arnold cursing all sorts of f-bombs left and right, check out Sabotage.
Art Malik(the bad guy in true lies) was in “the Jewel in the Crown” and “The Far Pavilions.”
Commando is absolut classic action movie! Simple and great. Like John Wick of the 80s.
🔴🔥 "Red Heat" is worth the price of admission just to listen to an Austrian man delivering comical lines with a Russian accent. 😄👍
If you haven't seen them yet, a great movie for Jamie Lee Curtis is "A Fish Called Wanda", and a very different (and funny) movie for Arnie is "The Last Action Hero". I definitely recommend both.
@28:00: I love the implication here that Gib hasn't fessed up about his part of busting Helen
3:07 there's always time to tango.
6:21 oh. Ooh la la. Care to tango?
7:07 blow me.
9:04 look out for the chandelier.
19:32 sorry honey.
20:10 they tango-ed.
20:51 your hubby is a bad mo-fo.
26:30 that's right b!tches!
27:42 you're fired!
There's always time to tango might have to be my new motto for life 🤣👍
@@jenmurrayxo haha. I still haven't finished watching, there may be more funny lines. I got up to Harry and Helen in the hotel room and had to go out.
It's Tia Carrere
10:36 - Arnie's boss is played by Charlton Heston. You may recogniize him from the original 'Planet of The Apes' movie series.
17:58 I had not seen the movie _Trading Places,_ yet. This scene introduced Jamie Lee Curtis to my fantasy file where, to this day, she resides _quite_ comfortably.
The Villain. An Arnold oldie.
i can suggest Kindergarten Cop, Twins and Jingle all the Way. loved this.
All great comedies with Arnold:)
Jamie Lee Curtis is amazing! This is a great movie.
