    Some cast notes!
Laughlin, the non-hacker dude, was Yaphet Kotto, who you might remember from his roles in Alien and as Mr. Big in Live and Let Die.
Fireball was Jim Brown who was a legendary football player, and who had a lot of roles in the 60s and 70s. He kinda got shafted on screentime in this one.
Captain Freedom was Jesse "The Body" Ventura, who was well known as a wrestling commentator prior to going into acting. You saw him in Predator. He later became the Governor of Minnesota. That was not Minnesota's greatest decision.
The security guard, Sven, was Sven-Ole Thorson, who shows up in almost every Arnold film, as well as in a few others like Gladiator or Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future.
The resistance leader was Mic Fleetwood, who was in Fleetwood Mac. As the "Fleetwood" part.
The dance choreographer on this was Miss Paula Abdul, who was about a year away from her first album being released. It did well.
For other films to try out, might I suggest Commando, Red Heat or Raw Deal from the Arnie camp? (Commando is the best of the three, but not many reactions to the other two). For non-Arnie, Runaway (from 1984) or Freejack (1992) would keep to the dystopian theme or for non-dystopian, try Road House, Escape from New York or Tango and Cash.

    My *FAVORITE* Arnie film.
I'm sure someone has already mentioned that the writer of the book its based on, Richard Bachman, is really Stephen King, but this is another example of how movies of King's stories are always better when the directors do not follow the source material completely. Much like Kubrick's The Shining, this film takes many liberties with the plot and all for the better.
Also, because I'm contractually obligated to:

I want to agree with you but the examples you give are dreadful lol. "The Running Man" Novel is way better than this movie...as for Kubricks "Shining", I'm torn because the first half of the movie is very kubrick-dull, the second half is kubrick-amazing...so.
In either case the books are better (although Mr Kubrick did a way better job).
"Misery" is a good example of a King Film that does it better...maybe Carrie is there too? Firestarter isn't a terrible movie...

Anaconda isn't terrible. It's not great, but it's certainly a passable cult classic creature feature film that's definitely worth a watch. John Voight was great as always. Owen Wilson's always fun to watch. Ice Cube was surprisingly good as well given that it's not his typical kind of role. I'd stay away from the sequels though. They get progressively worse and more absurd, and not in a good way.
Another movie in the same vein as Anaconda is Lake Placid which was surprisingly good. Betty White has a hilarious bit part in it and steals every scene she's in.
