Fun facts about the movie: when Arnold breaks the car window, he didn’t hit the right window, he missed the sugar-glass and hit a real window. Tom Arnold’s reaction is genuine.
Jamie Lee Curtis really hung from the helicopter (after being teased and taunted by Arnold to do it). It was filmed on her birthday and she wanted to do something crazy to look back on, exactly her character’s motivation too.

Don't forget that during the dance scene in the hotel when she tried to grab the bed post, she actually fell and jumped up. James Cameron thought it was funny and kept it in.

To be clear, that fall was completely accidental and not in the script. So was Arnold's reaction, out of surprise when he started to go help her.

In an interview, Curtis said Cameron convinced her do the stunt having out of the helicopter by only Arnold’s arm by agreeing to operate the camera shot himself. So the camera man is supposedly James Cameron hanging out of a real live helicopter in the air.

One of the funniest romantic action comedy movies ever made!
There were talks of a Sequel, but it was cancelled due to the 9/11 Terrorist Attacks that happened 22 years ago, as James Cameron knew that terrorism is a very serious business.
A TV series based on the movie was released on CBS back in March 2023, but it was cancelled due to the WGA SAG STRIKE after 13 episodes.

While the strike did start less than a week before CBS's May 8 cancellation, it's unlikely the strike had anything to do with that decision. New show So Help Me Todd was renewed, as was S.W.A.T. which had been on the bubble but received enough fan outcry to be awarded one more season. These could just as easily have been shut down if the real issue was the strike. True Lies, though, had bad reviews and lackluster ratings; _that's_ likely why it was cancelled.

5:49 - The head of Omega Sector is played by Charlton Heston, who once starred in a movie called "The Omega Man" (1971).
16:14 - At that range, the noise from the chopper would be deafening. I've only been semi-close to a running helicopter once in my life. The local mall used to have a helipad in the parking lot, and one day a chopper (just like the one in the movie) was landing there. Even though it was 200-300 feet away, you couldn't hear anything else. You had to shout to be heard by the person next to you.
22:06 - The fall was unscripted, Jamie Leigh Curtis actually slipped, and Arnold started to get up to see if she was OK, but since she got back up and stayed in character, Cameron decided to use it in the movie.
27:20 - Helen was standing at the top of the stairs when the gun started shooting and as it spun, it clearly fired right up the stairs. Meaning Helen would have been shot.
32:23 - There's no way that missile would be able to carry his weight. He would pull it right into a nose-dive.

Am I the only one that's sad that Addie didn't get that Boris and Natasha reference? I think we should suggest that she watches the Rocky and Bullwinkle movie with Rene Russo and Jason Alexander. I don't about others, but I loved that movie. And I think that'll fall under Addie's wheelhouse of a fun-loving movie 😁

Heyyy, a Sunday YT release, what will happen next? Oh wait, I know what's coming tomorrow!!!!
Not sure if this was already mentioned. In the Omega Sector, the gentleman with the eyepatch, played by Charleton Heston, was also in Tombstone. He played Henry Hooker, he owned the small farm where Doc Holiday pretended to be very sick before he met up with Johnny Ringo.
Take care of yourself, Addie!! Wish we saw Ollie!!

It's hard to believe but the daughter , "Dana", was played by Eliza Dushku. She's been in a few movies, and a TV series on FOX called, 'Tru Calling'.

This movie is in the “elite” of awesome ‘90’s action. It’s definitely the best of Tom Arnold.

Arnold didn’t initially want Jamie Lee in the movie. Seems he was acquainted with her dad, Tony Curtis, and couldn’t help but see her as Tony’s little girl. But she was fantastic in the role.

The actresses name that played Dana is Eliza Dushku. She did a great series called dollhouse. Well worth reacting to.

2:02 "Don't question it." The part I _do_ question is that, according to the subtitles, he says "I have to take a major leak" in perfect Arabic. I mean, this is _Arnold_ we're talking about -- even his _English_ is heavily accented. Plus, "major leak"? Really?!? Pull the other one! I'll need a native speaker of Arabic to confirm before I'll believe it. (Are there any native speakers of Arabic here, by any chance?)

Bill Paxton has portrayed characters killed by a Terminator ("The Terminator"), a Xenomorph ("Aliens"), a Yautja ("Predator 2"), and a Mimic ("Edge of Tomorrow"). James Cameron directed "The Terminator," "Aliens," "True Lies," and "Titanic," all featuring Bill Paxton.

Arnold made such fun movies back then. This and Total Recall are just pure entertainment. Movies nowadays have to have a message, which is good in its own way, but I kinda miss big blockbusters that were just stinking FUN.
