    I almost bought this same smoke pole last year. My old Hawken 50 cal kit me and dad built together in the mid 80s. Just the memories of hunting and building the bing bang with my dad makes it so hard to stop using it. But a in-line would sure be easier to use on rainy days and much easier to clean. The good ole muzzle loaders have come so far in last few years from the old round balls I started with. Thanks again WTW hunting crew for sharing your adventures, tools and love of the outdoors with us all. 🦌🎥💪🏽💯👍🙏🏻

    Great review of the Powerbelt's. I'm 60 yrs old and just started BP hunting. I bought a used TC Omega Z5 from my bosses son 2 yrs ago. Scoped it. and bore sighted. Did some research online and really liked the what the powerbelt lined offered. I chose the the 250 grain Aerolite as my first round. First shot 60 yrds was 5" right and 1" low . TWO quick adjustment's from second round and on been punching or touching center at 60 ever since. Now I just need the brown ones to cooperate. I am in NY and have a very limited season which sucks. Love the Aerolite 250gr.

    I’ve got the same little gun and it’s a tack driver for me with 100 grains by volume of Black Horn 209 under a saboted Hornady 250 g 45 cal. copper MonoFlex ML. I’ve found the Power Belts to be quite accurate and easy to load. I’m also fine with full size bullets for the woods we hunt. My limited experience with them, though, mirrors a lot of other folks. They’re known to expand too rapidly, not providing an exit wound. And when all the smoke clears on a cold, still frosty morning, you want a blood trail if the deer isn’t dead right there. Some of the heavier Power Belts, like 350 g or so, have a better reputation for making an exit wound.

    Been shooting black powder reproductions for years, but I bought a CVA Wolf last year when I first got into hunting. I gotta say that it's the easiest black powder gun I own to clean. Really accurate for the distances I need to shoot too. And light-weight, so very easy to carry into the woods. Very impressed with it. I'm sure there are better muzzle loaders out there, but from my hunting experience I really can't find a fault with the Wolf. I might buy a second one just to shorten the barrel and have an SBR that the ATF can't touch. lol

      It must be a tc thing as I had a similar experience. I use the same bullet as u in 200 gr. I used to use the Barnes expander but when I switched to white hot powder they tumbled. The 200s shoot good and I had them leftover from a youth setup. Since nobody else uses the 200s they go on sale for even cheaper. I’ve killed everything I have shot with my muzzleloader and it’s prob my favorite gun.

    I drew a multi season tag for elk and went archery, and some muzzleloader we cannot have scopes out here in Washington or Oregon we have to have open sights, they have .40 calibers the CVA Paramount that is shootong like a .300 win mag.....oh wait I think I remember a video of you blasting steel at 600 yards with one lol I want to get one but with open sights and see how it does. My son just turned 8 yesterday and he shot my .300 win mag Christensen MPR on a bipod and him sitting on a 5 gallon bucket, he just turned 7 and he shot that .300 win mag no problem, the NPR has a beast muzzle break and it kicks a tad more then a .243. I am definitely getting into muzzleloader and duck hunting things I never got into much. Im about your age and the last 14 years Ive strictly been archery hunting just got back into the rifles for bear and deer last year. Ive been watching your videos for a few years too by the way, you always respond and I give ya crap about your budget rifles but hey as you show in your videos they more then work!!! I have the first cva wolf that came out on market was only 99 dollars and found that with 100gr of powder and 180gr xtp bullet which is a hollow point it is in 44cal so I use a sabot the accuracy is incredible. The longest range I have taken a deer, my brother laser said 188 yards and the bullet had clean pass through, I shot a buck at a distance my friend could not believe the bullet was held by hide on opposite side the buck did run about 80 yards thought I missed at first. I sight all my guns inch and half high at 100 yards I'm an old man who has not been out in a while due to injuries at work sure miss the time my best friend we have hunted together since we were kid's back in the early 70's his father cannot go to far now. We try to get his father in a truck and let him hunt which is legal with permit, but my close friend just had a stroke not sure how this season is going to work remember to go when you can as you may not be able when you get older we only hunt for food so when we filled freezer with deer and we took first legal not picky we had more fun chasing tree rat's. Just remember be safe and enjoy the memories and have fun it is nice to get a big buck but them smaller doe's are easier to drag and taste better. In all the year's and all the Deers, we have shot some really nice bucks but we have never had any put on wall not a single one never gave it much thought.

Here in NC Primitive weapon hunting, which has bow only at first, gives you an extra FIVE WEEK head start before regular gun season comes in. Why wouldn't you try? I love putting a deer in the freezer before it all starts. No itchy fingers, no pressure. Just exhale and start get picky.

    I've shot the green bullets, they are accurate, load easily but suck hunting! They don't expand and zero blood trail. I shot a doe at 15 yards, she fell over I thought dead. As I reloaded I walked to where she was laying and no deer. I could see blood spray from the exit.. about 5 yards of blood drips and nothing else. We looked for the doe for a couple of hours. Edit: Just saw the end of the video looks like your using pyrodex pellets!
    Maybe I missed it but what powder are you using? Iv'e had great accuracy out of Hornady 300gr xtp sabots. in my CVA optima V2 with 2 50gr triple 7 pellets. I have a remington 700 ML that im putting the badgerirdge conversion kit in and going to try loose powder. Triple 7 loose powder then blackhorn 209.

    Hey who tee who, would you feel confident with the 24" barrel, to reach out 150-200 yards? Or would you rather get the optima with a 26"? Looking to buy my first muzzleloader.

      I'd shoot the wolf to 200 yards, sure. Furthest deer I have taken with it was 120 yards

    Hey WTW. I am currently looking for a budget muzzleloader and was looking at some review videos. I think I am going with the CVA Wolf V2 SS model. Question: I didn't hear you say what powder you were using. Triple 7 maybe? Were you using 2 (100 gr) or 3 (150 gr) pellets? Most people use 2, as the manufacture recommends that. Just wanted to know what powder you were using here. Thanks!

    Hey WTW! Got a moose hunt in AK coming up that is limited to either shotgun or muzzleloader. Never shot a muzzleloader before but seems like they may be a bit more accurate than the average slug gun. Question: What would you recommend? 12g vs 20g? Smooth vs rifles bore? Shotgun vs muzzleloader?

    • @WHOTEEWHO
      @WHOTEEWHO  5 месяцев назад +1

      That is really tough. I'd go with whatever you are most accurate with. Shot placement matters more. I'd trust a 12 gauge slug the most

      @@WHOTEEWHO Awesome! Thanks for the reply and recommendation. Really appreciate it. Will likely opt for the 12 gauge.
